Not one person here has ever said it was good, even the people who like it.

Its intentionally bad, so bad it's supposed to be good.

If you want decent gameplay in the series, try Nier or Drakengard 3. If you want good gameplay play Automata.

>Is this supposed to be a good game
No, it just has a cult following because of the crazy characters and story.

>he fell for the drakengard meme
You have to be autistic like me to enjoy this shit.

>good game
>Drakengard

Said no one ever.

>HUMANS SURE ARE HORRIBLE, HUH? GOD I HATE HUMANS, HUMANS ARE ALL THE SAME THEY ONLY KILL
>...

It's on the same level as the rest of the games honestly. There's nothing satisfying about the combat.

Gameplay was shit and it was probably made with purpose to turn players insane. Boring landscaped, thousands of identical enemies, music that repeats itself after 30 seconds. And it worked for me. When I started playing I was pretty chilled and my mentality was something like "well, atleast it isn't turn based",but by the end of the game I was easily irritated by every single thing (camera work, enemies dealing damage to me etc.) and often screamed at the monitor.

This. Every person that's ever mentioned how much they love the game admit it's fucking terrible

Dragon riding is fun though. I actually really enjoyed those sections.

The game is liked by a cult fanbase because they overlook the terrible gameplay in favour of the excellent atmosphere, music and crazy story

I agree, the Dragon flying was a part that I actually liked gameplay wise

I enjoyed it wholeheartedly, it's very fluid. Evading and blocking is very satisfying as well. It was everything I would expect from a Platinum game.

They could have removed leveling though, the game has some balance issues, you can easily get overpowered from doing side quests.

Yeah, Drakengard 3 might have been a stretch. I had fun with Nier though.

Yeah, the ground combat ranges from bland to horrendously grating, but I thought the black dragon boss fights were actually pretty fun.

Shame there's only like, three of them.

>Yoko Taro game being terrible
What a shocker.

>Falling for the meme

Yoko Turdo hasnt made a single good game in his life. His games are so bad that back in the day, we turned it into a meme by pretending it was good.

Sadly this backfired because now the world is full of millenial retards that actually believe nier automata is good.

Samefag

>Dev makes bad, rushed rip off of dynasty warriors and ace combat
>"B-BUT ITS SUPPOSED TO BE BAD U JUST DONT GET IT"

fucking incredible how stupid you cna be

It's not perfect, but it's leagues above the Drakengard games.

Drakengard is Art with a capital A. I appreciate that it exists and I understand that having enjoyable gameplay would undermine the experience. However, I wouldn't recommend that anyone actually play it.

I think it's alright if you have some time to kill and don't feel compelled to do all the insane weapon collecting just for the sake of unlocking Ending E.

It's still frustrating but it's more salvageable if you're not worried about going back to all the bonus time limit missions to unlock an extra fifty weapons you'll never use.

>cna
It's called sarcasm, get a clue retard.

You understand that not every game was an attempt to make a good game?
Drakengard is one of those games that was intentionally made to be bad.
This isn't fucking hard to understand.

>the music is terrible
Wrong. Can you please stop posting this shit image?

>intentionally made to be bad.
I liked Drakengard, but I've never really agreed with this argument.

I remember it fondly for the insane story and strong atmosphere, not for getting shot off my dragon thirty times by fireproof archers.

Drakengard 1 is a terrible game, but I fucking love it anyway.

The main issue is the framerate, the gameplay itself is pretty good. Different weapons, meant for different enemies makes things pretty fun and varied, specialy the fists.

I don't agree with everything in the image (for instance youtube.com/watch?v=A1gVwUDz0Ts is excellent as a piece of music), but it's a helpful summary of how Drakengard might be considered a mixed bag.

>we will never get the prank that would have been a great game
Taro really should write a VN, CYOA, or a point and click or something. The best parts of these games are the characters and weapon stories/novellas anyways.
Maybe everyone that works on these should just write books.

Eh, there's two factors to that. Some parts of it are indeed Yoko Taro fucking with it to make it less enjoyable (twisted and chaotic music that gets into the player's head instead of a hype rock soundtrack, characters calling you a bloody psychopath for getting your murder on instead of congratulating you on your greatness, all battlefields are bland and broken instead of colourful, vibrant and alive) but other parts of it are indeed Cavia being kinda shit at making games (terribly clunky and repetitive mechanics with zero depth, although this only ultimately enhances the experience further).

>that Manah
She just keeps getting hotter and hotter. No wonder the Watchers are so obsessed with her.

I'm actually vaguely curious how he would take a Persona styled high school game in a different direction.

...

drakengard 4 on switch when

Every game he makes is a shit game. MUH TRUE ART doesn't require a game be good, merely that you be as pretentious as possible.

The only good thing i remember about how, are the batshit insane endings, and the baby monsters.

I know the gameplay is shit but, is the game worth 10 yurops?

Sure.

>goes after simple spelling error

good job, you sure showed me

>music is terrible

The music is actually excellent.

Awful game, fantastic experience. I don't think I had a second of fun.
