Last comfy thread was breddy gud. Bump
Is this the greatest map that has ever been in vidya? I think it is.
I miss Morrowind.
If I wasn't this lazy and drunk, I'd download it right now and get all the 40+ required to enjoy it.
Also, anyone else remember an EXCELLENT mod, where you go on a quest to become a lich? That was amazing.
>openmw has been 'nearing 1.0' for the last 4 years
Anytime now, user. Anytime.
Well it's one of the best atleast. Remember my friend having it on the wall behind his computer circa 2004 for easier navigation.
I can't think of a better map. Its still one of the most immersive games I've ever played. Every location in Morrowind seems like it had a purpose for existing. I never got this same feeling from Oblivion or Skyrim. A ton of areas in that game felt bland. Whole towns that felt throwaway.
I remember going to red mountain for the first time in one of my playthroughs. It was even spooky and I had got diseased. I was underleveled for the area so it was pretty hard. Just about every place in this game is so memorable for me. The only thing I wish we could have gotten was the entirety of Morrowind. My god imagine how much bigger this game would seem if that could have been and with no easy fast traveling.
Probably. Had a ton of secret shit to find, good environments, multiple ways of traversing the landscape, and never felt empty.
>ywn live in anvil
>ywn work on those docks looking over the gold coast
The grazelands are full of higher ranked daedra though. FUCK THAT.
I feel like the illusion of size stuck around if you used the fast travel options sparingly, not so much if you constantly zipped back and forth across the island.
Atleast it's not the shit they introduced in Oblivion and Skyrim. If anything ruins the percieved size of a game world, it's that.
Oh yeah. Maybe the Ascadian Isles are a better choice, or the West Gash. The Redoran huts are incredibly comfy.
>mfw I realize I'll never pay Morrowind for the first time again.
>play
I have yet to play morrowind, I didn't like oblivion and skyrim so I will probably never play it for a first time
How easy is this game to mod? I've played it a million times but always vanilla. I'm a newbie when it comes to modding, and I've only ever modded one game, New Vegas.
It's easy peasy, user. Just slap whatever .esp mods you want into the Data Files folder in the install directory.
I'd personally recommend using OpenMW to play the game. It's got a good launcher and works with pretty much all .esp mods (ie, no mods that modify the .exe). You bypass having to grab a bunch of bug fixing mods, though if you want "better" graphics you'll have to use the regular client. I personally don't go for that and just play with the Water Colour texture mod.
On my last playthrough I cleared out the Andasreth stronghold, used console commands to remove some of the furniture, and used a placeable furniture mod to refurnish it. Forget the great house manors, this shit was max comfy
The speed of the game also plays into Morrowind feeling a lot bigger than it was. I don't think fast travel was a bad thing overall though.
>just got into the Elder Scrolls
>reading up on some background stuff
>all those interesting things stuffed in a fucking MMO
Proper new release when? Please, Todd.
I'm about to get drunk as fuck, so I feel like I owed it to you. Is this the mod you wanted?

Download MGO from ornitocopter, run the setup and apply most of the mods, but be wary of some. The MGO version of animated morrowind for example gives me a bunch of missing meshes, and a few of them sound nice but in game are actually a pain, like the animated container lids. Only other mandatory mod I think there is for the best morrowind experience is Darknut's Greater Dwemer Ruins. As the other guy said, mods like this you just drag and drop into your data files folder.
>tfw white sun instead of a black sun for the first time
not quite

All the pieces can be bought from a guy in Ald'Ruhn. It's fun to mix around with them.
The Grazelands looked so comfy and peacful.
Seems like that would've been the starting area in most games, but instead you started on the opposite side of the island.
>tfw I would just autistically plan my level ups if I played again
>tfw I've already done that a few times without even playing
>luck as primary attribute
Nice. That's some proper dunmer shit right there, though those weirdly coloured armours seem out of place.
Thanks user
How is it?
There's no way to put a multiplier on your luck level up, right?
reeeeaaaaal comfy -_-
>ywn live in an ashlander tent on a guar farm in the grazelands, occasionally banishing winged twilights/golden saints with either one of your spears
My most used house for Morrowind is the ashlander tent mod. So fucking comfy.

too obvious, no (You) for you
Please, I need it
this fella knows
@384521262
You will have to pry this (You) from my cold dead hands
ESO lore is really underrated
>How is it?
How is what?
how do you pronounce 'vvanderfell'?
vavanderfell or wanderfell
anderfell
the v's are silent
Var den fell
@384521262
That's obviously a short sword
so I bought the game yesterday and want to play it, any tips? should I get any mods before playing?
I always pronounced "saltrice" as one word until I realized it meant "salt rice"
Get MGE XE and the Morrowind Code Patch. The official plug-ins too if you didn't buy the GOG version.
That's all you need.
I would also recommend Main Quest Enhancers, LGNPC and Starfire's NPCs but they aren't really "essential mods". And Sotha Sil Expanded too, but I'd recommend playing vanilla Tribunal first.
>ywn live in a field filled with giant, aggressive beetles
Good
Scaling up to a 16:9 resolution will wreck your FoV. The only way to do it with the FoV intact is to install the Script Extender and MGEXE.
Also get the code patch at least.
This game has the worst leveling system of any game I've played. You pretty much have to make your build the opposite of what you want your character to be so you can get the most attribute points from leveling up. The whole thing is backwards. Also, alchemy is so broken that it ruins the game if you use it.
What?
