>small ones with a few friends

fun but get boring once everyone is tired

>big ones in huge halls

fucking amazing experience that everyone should do at least once

fun
even more so when a major sperging happened and someone had to be forcefully removed from the premises

pretty fun especially when the first one to fall asleep would get his ass pounded by everyone else's dicks

30% getting PC's set up
20% helping that one friend on the network because win98 Ethernet was dicks
30% leeching movies, music and is
10% actually playing games
10% drinking/eating/sleeping

Yay it's another stupid gay shit during a sleepover thread.

>is
Isos*

The stench of sweat and pizza too

small group of friends getting together for a couple days, no sleep, Alterac Valley, Krispy Kreme and sodas. Those were the days

I go to one every August at a friend's house. He's gay, so it's mostly gaymers (hurr hurr). He has a nice 4000 sq ft house with a bar and a theater in the basement. We set up tables and chairs in the living room and bring plenty of snacks and alcohol (though that's mostly for the evening). Later on, people are so drunk that they can't drive home, so he sets up a bunch of sleeping bags and air mattresses around 2-3 AM. I've gotten at least a blow job every time I've been, and got laid last year.

I go to Best Buy and buy an open box laptop to use for the weekend. It's a bit of a pain to install Steam and all the games I think I'll need, but it's worth it to save $1000 or so.

We play console games, PC games, board games, pen and paper games (there's a group that always plays X-Wing). In the evening when everyone is drunk, we play party games like King's Cup.

me on the ceiling

Doesn't sound like a LAN party, but a cool party, either way.

Don't want to know who gave you that blowjob, man.

hot and musky

It's usually someone I knew beforehand. Only once was it a guy that I had only met that weekend, but I'd been flirting with him pretty much the whole time.

Getting laid last year was great though. Once again, guy I just met but he was cute so I flirted with him the whole time. We went to the bathroom after everyone had passed out and I fucked him and came on his back.

Too bad he's from out of state. Haven't been able to hang out with him since.

...

they were smelly. real smelly. imagine 6 fat sweaty guys, 2 super skinny guys, and 2 normal guys, all with terrible bo, in a cramped basment with no good ventilation, and then add 10 hours of sweating and passing gas on top of that.

Kotaku recently chronicled this picture and the guy in it

It was often a bit of a hassle to get everyone connected mostly because of drivers or wrong IP settings back in the Win98, 2000 and XP days.
A lot of file sharing. about only 40% of the time we actually played games. Some people started to play MMOS with their guild and ignored everything around them. Some autist always went mad over some bullshit, like super weapons in C&C etc. Somehow even the non smokers started smoking after 1 am. My PC reeked for weeks... Also McDonald's breakfast at 6 am.

Extremely fun. My friend and I had a lot had multiple PC and also Xboxes and PS2s. Played the fuck out of CS, Halo and fighting games back in the day. People used to bet money, get used to stay up until 4AM. Drank liquor, order pizza, came up with strategies, people would fight, become friends again, team up against an OP person, etc. I fucking miss those days the days guys were still guys and not these nu-age cucks that are afraid to be loud and say what the fuck is on their mind.

Went to local LAN and people were cucked, nothing but League and guys drooling over some SJW looking cunt.

I want '97-'06 to come back.

Yes I'm an oldfag, fuck you.

implying my friends still don't have one every year

Humid. My brother and I always held ours in our parent's basement, which was absolutely not designed for a dozen sweaty adolescents and a dozen angry, red hot GPUs.

I still have fond memories, but they're eternally tainted by the smell. I guess as a teenager it just doesn't bother you that much.

Don't worry bro.
Everyone in the retirement home is going to have a tower and Terrabit Ethernet will be a minimum standard.
We're gonna LAN party that shit up when we're old and grey.

I've only done a couple with small groups of friends (like 4 to 6 people including me) but they're a lot of fun. After 4am everyone is too tired to play properly though, and you'll spend the first 2 or 3 hours just setting shit up.

My big brother brought me to a lan party but all I did is sit on the couch and no body let me play a single round. I never get to know this fun.

>ALRIGHT YOU MOTHER FUCKERS WE'RE GOING TO PLAY WARCRAFT III NOW I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE IT INSTALLED THIS TIME

>ywn lan party
why even live

you're supposed to bring your own computer you fuck

>fun but get boring once everyone is tired
>not finding something mildly amusing and dumb to laugh hysterically at together because you're so tired you can't really think straight

I was not ready for those feels...

Best times.

Lots of frozen food and domino's, pool parties, weed, tons of redbull, cs 1.6

my and 4 friends had a perfect 5 man group to run heroics when wrath was released. we just finished the high that was BC and were pumped to head to northerend.
it was glorious

>tfw latin american and still playing HL Deathmatch with bros
nice

It was an Xbox lan party and they have enough for every, even me, but they didn't let me play. To this day, I still resent my brother and his friend for this.

Should have put your dick in his ass
that would have showed him

The thing about Latin America is that they are very family/socially oriented, and gaming over there is like stuck in the late 90s or something. We got fucked in America, everyone now has to have their own separate shit, games aren't being made with splitscreen or LAN capabilities and thank god that the original plan for the Xbox One didn't happen, because they wanted you not to lend your games, that's how bad shit is, the thought that they could do this and succeed tells you people are fucking dead.

I still do lan weekends with friends every month or so. Got a couple of laptops for this very reason.

Remember, if you don't at least play a few rounds of soldat it's a shit lan.

gay

that's actually pretty accurate

Bruh
>set up LAN in a hall
>computers up the ass
>no bitches
>blunts being passed some drinks here and there but not much to keep it tame
>smoke everywhere, dark and murky
>munchies everywhere

Not our fault you didn't get to experience your sexual awakening with your best friends after a tense game of unreal.

Dam, now I want to be gay and have gaymer friends to blow me

This bread makes me jelly

we had em in high school with groups of 4-20 people depending on whose house it was.

they were fun. I had a blast destroying some kid who used to brag about how good he was at CS at one.

>only 1 month left until QuakeCon

We probably never would have done it without the alcohol. We always get a bit frisky when we're drunk.

I have to wonder if the big gay-ming cons are kind of like that too...

I still go to LAN parties once or twice per year at the local Scout club in my hometown. Usually 12-20 people, playing mostly FPS, RTS and racing games. We've been doing it since our late teens (most of us are mid/late 20s now), but we also invite new people over. Lots of fun, there's also a lot of beer involved.

Anyone ever go to big LAN meetup ? what do you actually do the whole time ? Only had a few LAN parties growing up among friends and acquaintances cant imagine being fun with strangers.

you know youve been here too long when the idea of hanging out with bros and alternating gaming and sucking each other off sounds like a pretty good time (swear im not gay)

I'm going to a big one in october (6000 seats) and have been to that event 3 times years prior. It was a bit smaller then, though.
Anyway, it's shitloads of fun because of the hyped atmosphere and loads of people having fun everywhere. The mood is very contagious. Lots of silly contests, hired cosplayers and other events set up by the managers.
I go with my best friend usually but 1 year I went alone, which was really detrimental to my enjoyment of the event because everyone that goes to these events mostly go in groups.
As expected over half the people there just play LoL, but there's tournaments for games like Trackmania and Rocket League as well.
Me and my friend usually just try to bro down with whoever sits near us and play some WC3 customs.

What was the most comfy game to lan party at and why was it Red Alert 2?

damn wtf, that sounds awesome. event name?

NPF
it's danish

That's not how you spell soldat

I've only been to one. It was pretty fun. The guy who hosted it had "Winter WonderLAN" shirts with a snowflake printed on them and gave 'em out. I still have mine.

Who else /had LAN parties after school on the shared drive/ here?

Don't be fucking gay.

I'm having a small LAN party with 3 other people soon.
Fun game recommendations are welcome.

What a horribly written article.
