It's really good, but nowhere near as much as people make it out to be. The suit overheats too quickly, boosting and slo-mo should be seperate meters. Also fucking melee should not overheat you, it's already risky as fuck.

It's a solid 8/10.

-A better upgrade system
-A longer campaign

The Last of Us is more of a stealth game than a third person shooter. It's basically designed to make firefights as risky as possible.

they divert enemy AI, the actually damage and kill enemies, they get in the way, even if you kill them yourself they just respawn infinitely and the story related one is invincible

Even with the knee sliding, it's nothing. "Rocket Knees" is just sprinting with a different animation. And this isn't some overgeneralization, it's just sprinting. Even the evasive rolling part, a good number of other third person shooters have. The only uncommon element of Vanquish is that you can shoot while sprinting (which also brings up the slomo, something that would be called a dumb casual gimmick in almost any other game).

It's no different than turning a corner from cover and sprinting in to hit stuff with an underbarrel chainsaw in Gears. Except that Gears doesn't have a limit on your melee or on your sprint, and funny enough ends up being faster than Vanquish because there's no downtime where you're waiting for your suit to cool down.

Quakefags only care about how "fast" their game is. So that's its defining trait, the weapons in the game are cookie cutter arena fps guns, and before you say "MAP CONTROL", the same shit matters in any game where there's pickups. The defining trait sure as hell isn't how it looks or its aesthetic, because all the maps are generic arena fps maps.

Uncharted 4 is the more fun third person shooter

Stuff like Virtual-On, Gundam Vs., or Armored Core.

Once you get your cover usage down to 2% and learn how to manage your boost meter it becomes a religious experience. Overheating is death, the only time you should ever overheat is when you ORA ORA ORA the shit out of the last enemy and the score drops. Cover serves no purpose beyond letting you smoke cigs. Realize this, get gud, and you have yourself a third person shooter that transcends the genre and becomes one of the best character action games ever made.
