I always thought this guy was fucking lazy doing the freeman's mind episodes. Then he explained all the bullshit he had to do to record and produce decent quality episodes.
Its a miracle he finished it, desu
>stop killing women in video games
what did he mean by this?
All because valve is lazy...
I just cannot wait until he is done with that movie, so he can work on some goddamn game dungeons.
best show on YT
what pocket dimension does ross get his games for game dungeon from?
He said he used to go to yard sales with his dad, and in the same sentence mentioned that that's where potty pidgeon and spiderbot came from
>That most recent game dungeon
The devs were right in that it wasn't the product of one deranged mind.
It's the product of MULTIPLE deranged minds.
>I was working 80+ hours a week in order to get Freeman's Mind done by the end of the year due to having to keep my promise to fans
He's pure, don't take him for granted.
You didn't like Wallace and Gromit?
I didn't even realise that it was an hour long game dungeon with that one
I was in a trance
So what's everyone's favorite episode of game dungeon?
I thought the nyet 3 one was pretty great, and showed Ross's fucking iron will to get that far through the game.
On a similar vein, do you guys have a favorite civil protection episode? I thought shadow of a doubt was really clever in it's concept and execution
Good game design thread?
I quite liked the deus ex one
>Heart shatters into a million pieces
Zany Golf
it was an israeli developed game if that clears anything up
I really liked Bip-Bop 2 and Arcade America, but Armed & Delirious might've just shot its way to the top.
A singular favorite? Nah, I'm gonna give you a small list; Helious, Polaris Snocross, Super Cult Tycoon, Puzzle Agent, and Baldies.
The Tunnel and Morning Patrol are pretty great.
>Shadow of a doubt
good taste
>animal torturers that casually murder
thanks it does clear it up
>Tfw he gets 2k+ a month from fan donations consistently over the past few years
>Loyal fan base is currently keeping him a float due to how consistently good his content is
It's odd that there is no patreon setup, though I'm guessing that PayPal takes less of a cut or something
>Baldies
You have good taste as well. Have a statue butt as a reward
that clears everything up
Yeah, it's a noticeable difference in how much he can keep.
I'm pretty sure that was his exact reasoning when he made that video asking for donations.
That ass
Thanks, user. Nothing like a good butt to up my spirits.
I enjoy halloween ones the most. I think I Iike the Secret World the most. Generally, I like the ones that he enjoys and is excited about much more than the "torture-games".
I refuse to believe this is at all real, unless patreon is considered taxable income, and PayPal isn't. Ross lives in Poland, after all, and I don't know polish tax law.
I love Ross's passive jabs at game journalists being lazy fucks
He wanted to fuck the floating lady, Not kill her
The main reason for it is due to him living in Poland.
He also goes through a rather silly process to do it with demo recording. There are far simpler and more effective ways to record gameplay, especially now that he's doing Half-Life 2.
Probably Carnevil, but Polaris Snowcross and Test Drive III are good.
Demo recording is the most consistent and efficient way to do the episodes. While the method he uses to get those into a video file is not, it is the method that produces the highest video quality
i liked his baldies video because i played that game as a kid
I never got super far though, it's a very fun game for many hours but then it gets repetitive as FUCK I have no fucking clue how he kept his sanity in completing the entire game, there was way too many levels.
>make all baldies flying baldies
>send at enemy base
>repeat
definition of a war of attrition
all the effort he puts into the Freeman's minds is nothing short of insane.
99.99% of people would just write dialogue and play through the game, not do all the editing and video producing he does.
Just thinking about it leaves my fat lazy ass exhausted.
Anyone have anything similar to game dungeon that I could watch? I really like to watch something while I play and if its something informative and entertaining at the same time all the better.
the amount of work he puts into ANY of his videos is crazy and frankly unneccesary. but I love him for it.
not games but plagueofgripes has a lot of vids on art, drawing and writing that I found interesting
cool , gonna check it out!
LGR(lazy game reviewer), who is Ross's friend, does very similar videos on old obscure pc games.
How is ross so pure?
he actually cares about video games, not eceleb or youtube bs
his positive demeanor, he's really appreciative/communicative with his fan base, and his humor tends to stray away from the easier raunchy side that most people tend to do. plus each of his videos equate the combined labor of like 50 Taiwanese sweatshop workers
I already watch LGR, one of the few people on the internet whose reviews I trust. Anyone else like the both of them?
delet this
Check out Noah Caldwell-Gervais, his videos have a similar vibe. Not so much effort is put into the production, but his thoughts are pretty interesting.
Genuine love for video games, no desire for greater fame, actual understanding of the gaming world and industry.
...
What a bizarro thread. 50 posts and not a single shitpost.
Year of the Ross when?
Did he really do Armed & Delirious just btfo all the normies that put shit games on "MOST WEIRD GAME EVER" lists?
...
isnt he jewish?
That would be this year.
Freeman's Mind 2 and multiple high quality Game Dungeons, especially Armed and Delirious.
that's the beauty of Ross posting
when his movie comes out for sure, that's when the world will recognize his greatness
that's extremely rare. you can't expect everyone to pull that off.
I share the same birthday as Ross, so I love when he uploads a video for his birthday it's like a birthday present from Ross
>noah
different dude but that reminded me of what a piece of shit spoony turned into, the ultima retrospective was his last great gasp
Sad thing is that, judging by his progress reports in the monthly streams, it's gonna be fucking years before the poor guy can finish the thing.
2016 was great, and 2017 is shaping up to be even better, I wonder what Halloween and Winter will be like this year
I think his insistence on saving games is a little silly, he has some weird ideas about money, and his taste in action games can get a little questionable - "I don't like hyperfighting" eg.
But Ross is pure. More Ross is best Ross. I hope these threads never devolve into shit.
I wouldn't be so sure, from the info I've gathered from his monthly streams we might be able to expect a release by 2018 or 2019. He's been working on it for a while now, and he really doesn't take breaks.
Thank God the dude has a girlfriend and friends to keep him company plus the donations, shit's probably keeping him sane due to the crazy amount of work load he puts on himself.
Awesome, thanks!
>using Witcher assets for movie
did he ever confirm if this meant W1 2 or 3? 1 was a comfy title but masterful fidelity it does not have. I mean, it still looks pretty nice but idk...
The first Deus Ex, Super Cult Tycoon, and that awful horror game about being a security guard. Especially Super Cult Tycoon, where he just criticise everything for not being realistic and reveal his cult power level.
strife was pretty good. what a fucking interesting game. really opened my eyes to this whole new world of obscure stuff.
I like his content because it's pure vidya. No memes, no politics (outside what's necessary), no shilling for some loot crate scam. Just. Vidya.
It still hurts to think about how spoony just ruined everything.
Still his patreon is getting 600 dollars per month, I bet that if he would just talk and apologize to his fans and make a comeback video everybody would hop in again.
but alas >Spoony apologizing
Everyone loves Ross. He's just lovable.
>Thank God the dude has a girlfriend
Wasn't she originally a fan of his and didn't she do a Xmind video about portal
she was a fan initially, but I have no clue about that latter bit.
December 28th?
Chell's mind was another girl, his gf is polish nad has horrible accent iirc
>thought for years his comment about moving to Poland was a joke before he said it was real
Ross is cool guy, you never know if he is a deranged serial killer or cultists soul-owing leader or someone who goes the EXTRA mile for his game reviews
Ross is too nice to be a serial killer but seriously give him your soul
>his gf is polish nad has horrible accent iirc
Has she been on his monthly streams? I've never seen nor heard her
>I think his insistence on saving games is a little silly
It does lead to some neat things like him saving the Bip-Bop games from their eventual floppy disc doom.
>those occasional 5-7 second stares into nothingness
he's not crazy, he's just in a permanent game of chess with those pesky voices.
I actually went through the most anticipated games list (the ones that are out and not completely shit). Introduced me to grim dawn.
I'm doing the list in the end of the video now. Some obscure stuff that I would never play otherwise.
Yeah, I guess maybe some times I just look at, like, 50% of Steam's library and think "This could all just disappear tomorrow and the world would be better for it."
Favorite Ross Quote?
>Tom your head is round; you're not thinking like a triangle.
Don't do this man, you can trace back every instance of an e-celeb's reputation going to shit to someone getting bored and digging up their personal life.
This guy is undeniably genuine. He tackles insanely tedious, dated and broken games for hours on end and in his videos you can tell he's 100% committed. Rare thing on youtube.
Also his fucking caveman yelling is the perfect background noise while I'm doing other shit.
he linked to her on an AF post years ago, she posts in the forum there semi-regularly (haven't visited the forum myself in a while though)
Naw, man. He's perfectly normal.
Now let's all have some candy.
Did that whole "let's spam EA with physical letters" thing ever go anywhere or achieved anything?
I'm 99% sure that no but still.
...
so is ross, dare i say, /ourguy/?
I didn't know Jesus was actually Ross
>you know, at this trial. Socrates thought he deserved free meals provided by the city and they sentenced him to death. So, it's good to keep perspective.
nah, the majority of this board is way too main stream / contrarian to appreciate Ross (yet). to say he's /ourguy/ would imply we as a whole are worthy of him
He's too good to be /ourguy/.
He's the hero vidya needs, but not the one we deserve.
Also, not video, but check out the lparchive.org.
I like the detailed walkthroughs that have a lot of details in them. By far the best is xcom series by Guavamoment. Reads like a good book.
Another excellent one is Civ4 by by Zoolooman.
I want to be like Ross when I grow up
