They're going in hard on the DW4 designs. Diao Chan looks fantastic. Getting rid of the stripper design from 6 onward was a great choice, though she still offers some good fanservice with the legs.

They should be, they said that everyone who's appeared in the games as of DW8: Empires should be in 9. So that should also include the most recent 'new' character Xun You.

Everyone is returning, and so far all the returning characters have been revealed in chronological order (DW2 characters first), so Ma Chao should be getting revealed pretty soon.

Love the more modest approach to character design. Still flashy and interesting, but not ridiculousloy over the top. I'm a Musou fan since the demo of DW2, so I'm very, very excited for DW9 - especially with the open world direction.

This. Zhou Yu's juggle heavy moveset was the best - Aside from being stylish and powerful Zhou Yu was the most technical character in DW for quite a while. Having both his counter and musou function as juggle initiators was great.

Lastly Zhou Yu's sword dance is just great reference to both the historical and fictional Zhou Yu:

It's nice, but I wish it had more visual POP like his DW3 and 4 outfit. I know he's all TEAM BLUE, but the high contrast the reds and oranges threw on made them my favorite Cao Cao designs.
