I thought there were only 4?
DO YOU EVEN EDGE??
shrines I mean
Unironically I just rubbed my eyes while I had anti itch cream on my fingers 5 minutes ago and now my eyes fucking itch like hell.
is BoTW made by a god?
>Want to play the new Zelda game
>Have a Wii U
>Want to play it on Switch
>Can't find a Switch
Fucking Nintendo for not letting me give them my money.
just fucking buy it on the Wii U.
don't, if you're going to get a switch anyways then wait to play it on switch
wii u has a much worse framerate (sub 20 fps in all cities and a lot of combat scenarios) and noticeably worse visuals
...
anyone else just love the running spear attack animation?
this.
I've watched someone play it on Wii U and was surprised by whenever they got a chest, the icon for the item they got took about 5 seconds to load
What are your favourite moments in the game? Mine is galloping while fighting a guardian on horseback
Shield surfing down the hebra mountain while sniping fools
Going out of the shrine to resurrection for the first time
>tfw my horse died after getting zapped by a guardian laser
You will be missed
you're in for a fucking ride. i'm at 95 hours and i'm barely doing on the third beast
How do we fix end game bros? There is nothing to do besides completing all shrines and koroks
pfister couldnt hear you because he's in the pokey for beating up his sister
Shield surfing is great and Nintendo missed a trick by not removing a bit of realism. Make it so that shields dont degrade when surfed on, no one would complain and it would get rid of the 'I don't want to do this fun thing because I might break my shield' feeling. Also get rid of weapons getting damaged on hitting ore/moveable objects for the same reason. Its a level of inventory management that adds very little to immersion and actively punishes fun.
No one in the snow or desert is saying 'this area is made worse because me shield doesn't degrade while surfing', they day 'oh shit look how great it is being able to surf everywhere'.
Does the hylian shield even break? I have been surfing on it for ages
Dunno, it does break eventually but maybe surfing doesn't effect it. Point still stands though; there's no reason not to make all shields infinitely surfable
You can revive horses
thats fucking stupid
also the horse magically teleporting to every stable
What? Where? I miss that little guy
Why is that stupid. Horses die for the dumbest reasons
Why did you name your horse after a brand of faucet...? Pfisters are shit btw, go with the deltas, easier to put together, cheaper, last longer, and don't look like wire hangers
Just turned this off. Playing the Master Mode, trying to do all the shrines before any beasts or even talking to Impa. Tonight I was Hinox hunting, trying to upgrade my soldier's set, not sure if I'll be able to take on the lynels to get it to max level but I'll try one. I hate that I have to clear divine beasts to get access to some of the shrines.
The Hylian Shield can in fact break. Broke it screwing around with guardian beams in the Forgotten Temple.
There's a horse revival "fairy" fountain south of the Highland Stable in Southern Hyrule. It's 1000 rupees to revive a horse.
>upgrading armor
Nothing in the game is hard enough
on master mode upgrading armour is crucial
You're not forced to do a fucking thing. You can tap out and go fight the final boss whenever you want.
yeah but after the boss fight the game becomes way too easy and boring. That's end game. Only thing you can do is start a new save
I'm not the only one that named their horse Roach, right?
Implying it isnt hilarious when your shield breaks while surfing. I do it on purpose all the time.
I've had the game for around 2 months now and I love it, but my playtime has been scattered all over those 2 months due to work and I haven't explored as much as I would like (I want to find everything.)
Just finished the last Divine Beast, should I restart the game over or just do all of the exploration now?
Did you speak with Kiton after beating Ganon?
If you bored after finishing the game, that's kind of normal for video games I suppose.
I doubt anyone else would be that uncreative, so rest assured that you're probably the only one.
just got done with the DLC yesterday. I really want to start master mode now but I'm saving it for later
When you go for Trial of the Sword in Master Mode make sure to use ancient arrows on the golden enemies. They will destroy you if you make a single mistake.
What happens when you speak with Kilton?
Its master mode, and yeah you kinda do. I just started my 2nd row of hearts and I'm still getting 2 shotted, but now I only get 3 shotted with my upgraded armor!
Sidequests unlock
Do exploration now
Yeah I'm waiting for pack 2
It'll be about Zelda right?
I dumped 190 hours into the game, but I feel like diving back in. Should I buy the DLC and try master mode?
...
Yeah. There's a short video without audio that shows Zelda.
If you like doing that dumb shit where they take all your stuff and you gotta fight enimies like your the little fag from home alone. Thats just not fun.
>like the little fag from home alone
Sounds like fun.
Question, how long does it usually take to complete a dungeon? Are they extraordinarily hard, or are they more like Skyrim dungeons? I haven't played Zelda in a very long time, but am probably going to be buying a Switch soon. I am just curious onto the level of difficulty BOTW is at.
The shrines? Fast as fuck. The beasts? ~30 minutes
It's not difficult, but I find them more interesting than skyrim
How many dungeons are in BOTW, if I might ask? How long on average would it take to complete the game?
You mean the shrines? Theres 120 of them. Most of can be beaten in a few mintues, the most difficult or elaborate ones will take maybe 20 minutes.
The 4 devine beasts are the main dungeons. They're open ended and can be tackled in any number of ways. If you know what you're doing you can beat them in about 30 minutes each.
120 Shrines, 4 Divine Beasts, 1 Hyrule Castle.
It's okay. I liked the NES Zelda more though. It's an 8/10 at best.
The game can last 200 hours or 1 hour. Do what you want then when you feel yourself getting bored just head to the final boss.
If you wanted to do all 4 devine beasts, get all the main quests storyline, beat enough shrines to win the master sword you'll still be looking about 40 to 60 hours.
>The game can last 200 hours
Doing what? I currently have 160 hours on record after 3 playthroughs from start to finish.
100% run takes 200 hours if you are not rushing through it
For what purpose though? Why complete it 100% when there's nothing to gain from it?
because its fun?
I have enjoyed everything so far outside of armor upgrading
finding koroks is good shit
What do you gain completing other games to 100%?
A small reward at most. I don't understand completionists
completionists complete games because they love the game regardless of progression
they just like playing it and dont care for rewards
>tfw your horse dies during the last phase of the last boss fight
how do you pull that off
I beat the beasts in like 5 minutes matey.
How do you fight a guardian on horseback? Like just keep shooting them with arrows? I wouldn't be able to aim well while it's galloping.
>fighting the pig form of Ganon
>horse controls like ass, won't move like I tell him to
>can't hit the targets for hit
>say fuck it and get off the horse
>he gets stepped on and dies
heh who cares
jump off back > slow mo bow shots
Oh. Well id call that "jumping off your horse to fight a guardian" rather than "fighting a guardian on horseback".
Because its fun? Also DLC is on its way, and I'm trying to clear out Master Mode 100% before it drops
>been playing the game since launch day on switch
>a couple months ago hit 100 shrines
>want to finish them all before taking on Ganon so I can finish the game with the classic tunic
>grinding the last few shrines with guides is fucking boring as hell
>one of the shrines I missed was a collectathon bullshit one
>at this point I just want to get it over with so I can start my no climbing, minimum shrine, master mode playthrough
Master mode 100% is the only true way to complete the game
Slashing at their legs is pretty fun/simple.
very cool my man.
Meh, completionist is one way to play, experiencing only the hand carved content is another. I'd love to play the game where I travel by horse from town to town, completing the divine beasts and never worrying about upgrading my armor or hunting shrines out of the way
Pretty pleased with this screenshot I took. It's the only one I have where the compression doesn't ruin it.
I also "just started" a few months ago. But I had to put it down. One of these days I'll get back to it. Seems like a 10/10 Zelda. When does it get bad?
My first horse was a blue horse. I couldn't get the lean purple one. I didn't have even close to enough stamina it seems like I needed for it. I was able to mount it three times before it ran away indefinitely. That's my one complaint with the game. It went too RPG on that route. If it was OoT you could have probably got that horse somehow.
>When does it get bad?
divine beasts maybe
and if you continue playing when you get bored instead of just finishing ganon
It starts getting bad when you realize that the game has no set order, which means the dungeons are all about the same in terms of difficulty. Also every champion acts like it's the first one, so they tell you exactly how you're supposed to get through it.
Also any part with Zelda in it. Worst incarnation.
...
>Also any part with Zelda in it. Worst incarnation.
what terrible fucking taste
I should probably just get it on CEMU and retake the screenshots there. It looks so much better than the WiiU version.
I'd like to tell you why I hate BotW Zelda by first telling you her personality, but there's like 6 of them. She goes from boring to bitchy to pussy to thirsty to mopey to bland, and any interesting moments she might've had by being a more scientific Zelda that thinks critically and logically is thrown out the window for magic. Fuck no.
...
So like a realistic teenager? Damn. Also ravioli acts significantly differently compared to the rest of the champions
Is it worth playing on cemu yet or still slow/buggy?
Depends on your specs. I played it at 30 fps 2 or 3 months ago, it crashed alot due to ram usage.
When I was almost done with everything in the game a new cemu version with better memory usage came out and it goes wonderfully for me.
I am almost on the verge of replaying it, but I guess I will wait september at least.
What CPU you have?
>worse visuals
That's bullshit. The game is a straight up port.
i7 4790k
This is false.
The visuals are practically identical and while docked, Switch has equal amounts of drops in fps. In different areas tho.
you gonna get fps drop on both of them
get it on Wii U
fug
I only have an i7-920. Still orders of magnitude faster than the original wiiu CPU but probably not enough to emulate it.
Yeah I'm a pretty cool guy my dude.
1280x720 is the resolution of Wii U ?
you would love the cemu 1080p or 4k pack i think, its so much brighter, sharp and colorful
Do you have the graphics pack that disables the AA? Also can you get reshade to work with yours? mines all fkky
casually riding on my horse with the made in abyss insert song from ep 1
why do switch users go around and spout bullshit then complain why every fanbase despite them ?
>tfw raided hyrule castle for weapons, and killed the silver lynel in the colleseum, with only 3 hearts and starter gear, and still only using the starter gear
Who else is a /HEROOFMADNESS/?
Can't take screenshots with afterburner but fraps works
