>tfw done farming high-end gear in Cerobi Steppe
All I need now is 2x Genji Gloves, a Ribbon and Gendarme, then I am pretty much set to breeze through the game and Trial mode

Finally got to use some ninja swords. I have Iga and Koga right now. At level 35, these things are absolute beasts. Vaan, who is a Shikari/Monk, is comboing things into oblivion. This is op as fuck.

When do you first get ninja swords?

I'm at Paramina Rift, about to fight Judge Bergan

I got both in Lhusu mines. I was around level 30 and I took the Antlion hunt. That unlocks some later areas in the mine where the enemies are above level 40. Might be a little tough, but it was worth it for the swords. I didn't even know they were there. I was just fucking around since I'm also at Paramina Rift about to fight Judge Bergan. I played the original so I remember some boss fight here, and I think Larsa leaves soon so I want to squeeze as much out of him as I can. I'm on my way to average party level to be 40 before I even see him. Eventually I'll explore the Necrohol before I fight him.

Nice. I played the living hell out of Vanilla and I'm really enjoying most of the differences. My favorite FF game for sure and it's nice to experience in a new way.

I usually start doing all of the really interesting side quest stuff after Draklor Laboratory - I think that's when most everything is available to you.

You were level 30 at the mines? I think im there now and only level 10 or 11.

Need to find black robes (already got yagyu), is it bazaar only or does it drop somewhere ?

You can come back to the mines later for some unlocked areas where the ennemies are far stronger.

Not when I first got there. You can go back at anytime and when there's a hunt you can do that unlocks a part of the mine with late game enemies.

Oh ok. Gotcha. My first time playing XII.

If you think this is op, wait till you meet the orochi, or the yagyu darkblade vs yiazmat

does TZA come with a strat guide? i havent played this since 07

There is one actually, but you obviously have to buy it primagames.com/games/final-fantasy-xii-zodiac-age/products/final-fantasy-xii-zodiac-age-collectors-edition-strategy-guide

The TZA strategy guide is actually pretty decent. The Job section has a chart showing what each Job gets for each Esper/Quickening, making planning combos and Esper allocation really convenient

Here's my cerobi steppe to do list. Fucking kill me.

Yeah those chest spawn rates are really frustrating

The only thing that's gonna get me through this is remembering how much of a nightmare it was in the original without a fast forward button.

So what's the order for end game stuff?

is it Nalbina -> Lhusu -> Henne -> Great Crystal?

I've already done nalbina, but i waited a trillion years to do any hunts so i haven't unlocked deep Lhusu mines, and the back entrance to Henne is way too strong for me.

It's insane how much top tier equipement are hidden behind such bs like this or great crystal, imagine for a newcomer who has absolutely no idea of that.

Don't forget the subterra of the pharos, nabudis and nabreus

Oh yeah I forgot nabudis has a esper in it. Also had no idea subterra of the pharos existed. what level is that? If I can't handle henne mines am i fucked?

Also is it better to grind out better gear at cerobi or to grind levels?

I'm currently level 50, at the very last dungeon.

>Black Robes
Treasure: Cerobi Steppe (North Liavell Hills) / Necrohol of Nabudis (Cloister of the Highborn)
Poach: Mistmare (5%)
Bazaar: Black Vestments (Blood Wool x9, Prime Tanned Hide x7 and Dark Crystal x8)

I recommend you to use the FFwiki for further details and such

Go back to the pahros entrance you'll see the elevator, take it and you'll go the the depth of the pharos, it's a pretty strong area so be careful

>tfw they re-arranged the ninja sword licenses so you only have to give up the Iga/Koga blade, which are statistically the same but different elements

you have both though so I don't know what you're doing. Orochi was moved to Ninja Swords 1 and Iga/Koga blade were split up from Ninja swords 2, and the other was put in Ninja Swords 3.

If you're using both Iga and Koga, that means you either gave up Ninja Swords 1 or Yagyu Darkblade+Mesa, which is a stupid thing to do either way

In addition to the other reply you got you can steal it from the boss on the ahriman stage of trial mode. I forget what floor number exactly but I got two of them last night. Now I need a yagu to go with it.

That is the point of grinding your balls off only to breeze through the entire game effortlessly?

Thanks a lot, I'm getting that anti yiazmat team ready

Why not give up ninja swords 1? Aren't they just inferior to the others?

Also it doesn't matter since mesa is so fucking easy to get.

The game is pretty easy anyway. I don't grind, but I do try to do every sidequest as soon as it's available and go for all the rare enemies too. My characters end up stronger than they're supposed to be because of it. Once I've gotten a playthrough like that under my belt I think I'll do one where I only use one license board per character.

Because Orochi was moved to Ninja Swords 1, and half of the licenses for ninja swords come from that alone.

Iga and Koga blade are statistically the same minus element so there's no reason to take both.

Because Ninja Swords 1 is pretty much all of the swords including Orochi which is stronger than both Koga/Iga. Ignoring it would be giving up every ninja sword that isn't unique.

>grinding your balls off
>implying I dont cure manipulate
Naïve tripfag

>he doesn't have a Seintengrat

I gave it to my Archer (Ashe) and she's just melting everything

Alright, but it really doesn't matter anyways. Once you get a mesa, which is piss easy to get, there's no point. Mid-game you can just use daggers too.

How come FFXV had much worse hunts than XII again?

What's the difference between Monk, Bushi and Uhlan?

i got azshura from stillshrine of mariam in a chest

Primarily their weapons

Monk: Poles scale to strength but deal damage calculated off the target's magick defense, so I guess you can say it does physical magick damage. No other weapon scales this way. Poles can also hit flying enemies without telekinesis. Monk also gets some high level white magick if you care

Bushi: Katanas scale to strength+magick and deal physical damage

Uhlan: Spears simply scale to strength strongest(ish) weapon is a spear and they're pretty fast. Can also hit flying enemies without telekinesis.

>The game is pretty easy anyway. I don't grind, but I do try to do every sidequest as soon as it's available and go for all the rare enemies too

Agreed, to keep the game 'challenging' means willfully skipping a lot of content, which I think is worse than trivialising it.

The changes in TZA are great and everything but I seriously can't believe they didn't fix the chest loot (aside from the Zodiac Spear)

Captchas are getting so insufferable now I almost didn't post this.

Earliest one you can get is Ashura from the Stillshrine of Miriam

>Kumbha is considered a Samurai sword
>Sick synergy with Genji gloves
>You can one-hand it
>You can have Kumbha AND Gendarme on the same character
Holy fucking shit

>that nerdy feeling you get from seeing your AI party gambits work flawlessly

I know it gets a lot of shit, but gambits really did solve team IA and there's no excuse for every team based RPG for not having them.

Mimics are actually insects that feed on brains, preferably intelligent ones, so they disguise themselves as chests because only the smartest animals open chests.

The bestiary in this game is great, all games should have one. XV didn't even bother anymore, it's just sad.

What's the point of farming Cerobi Steppe if you can find all the stuff there elsewhere?

>XV didn't even bother anymore, it's just sad.

And yet people will still defend the only unfinished game in the mainline series that had the longest development time of them all.

1. Its all in one place
2. Its earlier than elsewhere
3. Its easier if you cure manipulate

How do I manage Aggro, it seems they always go for the Party Leader no matter what, it's really dumb that the enemies will attack my Penelo when all she's doing is casting haste or whatever.

There's a spell called Decoy that makes enemies target whoever the spell is cast on. It's obtainable pretty early and the license is Green Magic 1, I think. I haven't used it yet because my party is 1 melee 2 ranged.

>"Could it be that a similar fate awaits us?"

If only you knew.

Just imagine enemies have their own gambits, usually something like "Attack nearest foe" or "Attack party leader". You can use Decoy to redirect their attention where you want, it's an early reward from can Centurio I think, you can buy it in the Muthru bazaar if your rank is high enough (you only need one of the first ranks).

Does MNK/Foes make a great tank?

Only being able to take one each time then complete it go back to restaurant then you can chose another one, most of them were boring and moving from one point to another was really tedious, plus the combat sucks.

Grinding is fun

Well, while i agree with you on trhe chest bullshit, there are no "missables" anymore and that was really infuriating not knowing why you can't have the best weapon, now you can explore learn about shit adn just say, "oh it's there i'm gonna grab it" and not "oh it was there i'm fucked"

Shouldn't be bad, you can equip shields through foebreaker and some staffs have ok evansion, you can also have the tank heal himself though monk white magics. End game you can also have your tank breaking the enemy statuses.

I am still mad about XV.

More so after Tabata went full 'it's a feature lmao XD'. I lost all hope that they will fix anything. They've been only adding completely useless, irrelevant shit so far and there's absolutely zero indication this will ever change. Fuck this crap game and anyone involved.

Has anyone gotten all the hunt trophies? Who's the best dude to give all the trophies to this time around?

there are 30 trophies, give 5 to atak 5 to block and 15 to stock to get a second pair of genji gloves the rest is up to you but go on the wiki to find the other rewards

That and they are literally just random battles, I am on Gil Snapper right now and he's a step above the Turtle Enemies at the time, and I actually can't beat him with item spam attrition alone.

Never really played this far before on vanilla but I just finished Pharos and beat Ultima. Is there any point of no return or something like that? I really would like to plat this one and it would tilt me off the face of the planet if I got stuck because of something like this.

Also is there any use for the genji equipment beside the gauntlet? The gauntlet is absolutely crazy with masamune but the rest of the set doesn't really seem that good?

please give me a tip how to cheese the round 100 challenge judges. I have only gabranth and Zargabaath left standing and no way to give them the Disease ailment. I'm out of those stones that infict it and I don't have the accessory that reverses item effects.
I can wail on them and they just heal each other with Elixirs
Send help

Why do I love this fucking game so much but couldn't even finish XV out of boredoom?

Just before getting on the bahamuy but they warn you that it is the point of return, but you don't miss anything it's just to see the end of the game, you can save reload just before getting on board and do everything you want to quets/hunts/espers etc so you're fine no missables

Because XII has content and XV has 'content'. XII's re-release really hurt XV in my opinion, because people will realize just how much less of a game XV really is, like, you can beat Judge Ghis on the Leviathan and then just...carry on the story because you're not near the end, whereas in XV if I didn't pad out the game with the Worst Sidequests in an JRPG then it's a very short game.

Or they'll do Hunts that actually feel like hunts, or have team AI that aren't dumb (unless you are really inept with Gambits) that you can actually customise as and switch freely between.

Or they'll have a story where important stuff actually happens on screen.

Fuck, I hate XV so much.

Get Guriguribanban (100% to inflict both Disease and Sap on hit)
You can find it in Cerobi Steppe (Feddik River)

I really like this game, but navigating the great Crystal was one of the worst dungeons I've ever witnessed. Holy shit, couldn't they at least show you the room you're in on the map? I spend like 2h there until I got sick and used a map on gamefaqs. Also getting Hastega inflicted physical pain on me.

it's just not possible to win without disease status then, right? I'd rather not re-do the whole 99 levels of trial mode, but if the judges just have an infinite amount of elixirs what choice do I got?

Fugg

>Or they'll have a story where important stuff actually happens on screen.

Sometimes the story is flled with som uch overt and subtle information it's overwhelming and can be confusing...but I'll take that any day over the mess that was XV's storytelling, at least our story is all in XII and not spread to several mediums.

That gif is the best.

tfw sold Mythril Sword thinking I could pick it up again later for cheap, only to figure out that it is LITERALLY unobtainable in any way apart from an excruciatingly low drop rate from Omega Mark XII.

Learn to cure manipulate then. You'll get Guriguribanban on your first try.

They really wanted you to do like you had to do for some old games and draw your own map, once you sketch where paths take you it's pretty easy to navigate. I liked it personally but yes, if you just randomly choose whichever path it will take you forever.

It's a useless item anyway.

How do you do that ?

>poles and spears hit flyers
WHAT

Yup they do

Do you have Meteorites? The Meteorite B causes disease.

1. Download something called "FF12RNGHelper"
2. Clear the area of mobs where the treasure spawns (so they dont get in the way)
3. Zone in and out until desired treasure spawns
4. When you have located targeted treasure, change your party to one character (who knows Cure)
5. Unequip your weapon and anything that gives you a status effect. Equip Diamond Armlet
6. Plug in your Level number, Magick Power , Console and check/uncheck the box "Serenity" if you have it or not on the character you're using (its an attribute on the license board) in the program
7. Cast cure on yourself, note the number and plug it in on the program, then Start search
8. Cast cure on yourself 3 more times, and plug in the numbers into the program
9. You're now on a secure value and you know your current position (Look at % number, the rest you dont need to bother with except if you want to spawn treasures, mobs, drops etc)
10. The Guriguribanban has a 80% chance to be Gil, so you have to look for a number between 80-99 followed by 95-99 (this factor decides if you get a Knot of Rust or the Rare item)
11. Place yourself ONE ABOVE these numbers, then you can obtain the desired item you want

You move your value by one (1) point using Cure, and ten (10) by hitting yourself (X->Attack->R1->Select character)
For example if you start at lets say value 33617, and the desired value you want is 33658 (ONE ABOVE the desired % values you want), then you need to hit yourself 4 times and cure one time to move 41 values down. Once you get the hang of it, this will be piss easy to do and you can attain ANY item, ANY drop and ANY mob on first try.

Oh I forgot to say on 8. that you have to click "Continue" as you plug in the numbers or else you restart by clicking "Begin Search"

Holy shit this looks complicated haha but i'm gonna give it a try thanks

No problem, I'll try to make it easier for you by posting an example soon (just have to get it done in Paint first lol)

Gurdy is..

C U T E
U
T
E

I only have two of those and one was missing when I used it. I'll try to restart the fight later before I give up and try again from round 1. Thank god for auto saves so I can restart at stage 100, I'm just gimped in terms of items unfortanately

>mfw realizing what holding L1 and pressing right and left on the dpad does

Fuck me, I had to go to menu every fucking time to change the speed.

all of which you can get at least once from a 100% chest in zodiac version
so why farm them in cerobi?

In step 1 I have casted Cure on myself 4 times (the green rectangle) to determine my exact position in the value which is 8003 right now (red rectangle)
Step 2; I've found a good value pair (yellow rectangle) so now I have to move down to 8359 (red rectangle)

From 8003 to 8359, I have to hit myself 35 times (10 points per attack) and cure 6 times (how much you have to move will very A LOT, this example is kinda bad because how much you need to hit yourself)
When I'm at the desired value (8359) I can just obtain the treasure with the rare item inside it 100% of the time.

i bet you went to college faggot

Okay you've healed yourself at first noted the number then it generated the rest, so all you had to do was moving your position till you are 1 before the position that has 95/99 is that right ?

kek
a simple "Thank you" would suffice

I guess I'll just finish the game and walk away. No way shit that's making people doing THIS is bearable.

Yes. The number doesn't HAVE to be 95/99.
A treasure that contains for example Ribbon, that has 80% chance to be gil (00-79 in value) can have value between 80 - 99 and still spawn it. The last number (99 in this case) however is the value used by the Diamond Armlet which MUST be between 95-99, or else you will simply get a Knot of Rust !

So, ([80~99]+[95~99])

It's really easy, TRUST me. You only need to understand what you're looking at (compare your heal numbers you get in-game with the numbers in the program, maybe it will be easier then)

Okay so in your example without using the diamond armlet i could go for the 95 but if i had the diamond armlet i should go for 99 ?

It's weird that they don't tell you how to change the speeds on the fly, or if they did I completely missed it.

is there a guide on how to get all the late game weapons/armors/accessories for the zodiac age?

No no no, you absolutely NEED to have Diamond Armlet equipped to get the rare items!
95 96 97 98 99 is all the same, and WILL yield you the rare item you seek

Okay okay my mistake, so diamond armlet but depending on the rarity is [(100- number of chances to not have the item i want);(99)]

Stupid question time: The numbers I'm plugging in: That's the heal amount (say 120 for sake of example) or the new HP (from 1250 -> 1370)?

What i mean is for the case of the ribbon it's basically from 80 to 99 because i only have 20% chance to have it starting down from 100 to 99
