that isn't sticker star though

And?

You can't defend a game if no one cares about it

It's impressive how ok games get blasted as OMG WORST GAEM EVAHH!!!11!!! when it comes to nintendo games.

I thought it was fine.
Not great and not as terrible as everyone makes it out to be.
Still a bit upset Paper Mario died so we could get M&L and people defend them despite that all of them other then BIS are terrible.

Color Splash is bad though.

You're wrong though

It's mediocre at best

Nope.

nobody defends sticker star though

...

>OMG WORST GAEM EVAHH!!!11!!
You are not old enough to browse this website.

You need to go back playing new super rehash bros while listening to the Minions movie in the background.

color splash was worse than sticker star, i didn't even finish my playthrough of this shit

>super rehash bros
So its only ok when everyone but Nintendo does it?

kek is that really your best argument?
Posting sequels with actual effort put into them to defend pic related?

Pathetic fanboy.

It baffles me people actually enjoyed this
Then again the same people that do are faggots like Cody and Boco

>Stop liking what I don't like
Zero was a mess, but don't be a hateful retard.

I liked it way more than I expected. It had a lot of standout things about it like the art, humor and level design but also had disappointing things like combat being too easy even for Paper Mario and not giving Toads unique designs anymore like PM/TTYD bu they gave them unique personalities so it was still okay. Also used enemies as npcs. Game is solid 7/10

>Posting sequels with actual effort put into them
user the games posted on the right are also rehashes. (Not sure about final fantasy or metal gear as ive never played them)
Also great fanboy finisher you sure showed me.
Now tell me about how every Nintendo game is a blunders of the century.

>NSMBU is completely different yet is still on the list

Huh?

Im allowed to hate whatever I want motherfucker

I have never said that every Nintendo games are terrible, you are projecting so hard it's ridiculous.

I play Nintendo games, this doesn't stop me from using my brains and not buy every lazy cashgrab a company is shitting up.

Your kind is insane but as we know the cult prey on the weak and vulnerable.

>thinking shitposters actually played the games they shitpost about
if you see a Sup Forums image macro, chances are you should just ignore it

No you're not.

>this projection

It really was horrible.
Lazy, ugly, the worst bossfights Nintendo ever made ( with the forced gamepad view), the useless gyrocopter that's ditched after one level because they realized it was a terrible idea by Miyamoto, and so on...

yeah

No you're not.

Well thats your opinion man.

...

I mean ignoring the fact the games get very different after the beginning and even the first 3 are not "the same game" NSMBU has entirely different background graphics and foreground graphics so it doesn't even work for ignorant shitposting.

No you're not.

see

That's outdated.

Thanks pal I was actually looking for this.

I liked it desu

...

>reddit spacing

Objectively bad taste coming through (or so I hear):

God tier:
Paper Mario

Demigod tier:
PM:TTYD

It's alright tier:
Color Splash

Mind numbingly boring tier:
Sticker Star

Burning fucking trash fire tier:
Super Paper Mario

No, you're not.

yeah

>hey guys settle down! we know its not as good as the first 2 but at least we are trying different things!!1! :)

then make a new series you fucking faggots. ALL Paper Mario games should be similar to the first one. no one asked for super paper mario and color splash sucks ass.

Switch out Color Splash & Super and I'll agree.

Bloody stop this.
Both of you.

>hey guys settle down! we know its not as good as the first 2 but at least we are trying different things!!1! :)
>fucking BOMBS along with Fed Force and Starfox Zero

fuck off britbong

You think Sticker Star is better than CS? How?

Color Splash is like taking Sticker Star and putting actual effort and care and love into it. Still didn't turn it into a solid game but some fun can be had. SS is just soulless husk.

>only characters from the Mario family
>Uses only Toads and a Wiggler for the NPCs for Sticker Star.
I'm baffled that someone thought that was OK.

that's what I was getting at. People here spread misinformation for fun

No, you're not.

...

>personally i dont give much thought behind how we are leaving behind old elements in the series
did they even give much thought into making the game?

Well, you've heard right.

>Miyamoto's least favorite character is Toad
>asks IS to only include characters from the Mario family
>out of all the species they're still allowed to use they just put generic Toad everywhere

but no one likes vanilla KH2, it's Final Mix that gets all the love.

>No Lumas or Pinatas

I'd personally swap the first two and move super int color splash's spot, shifting it and sticker star a spot down

A few good jokes doesn't save a game that had the worst character design in the series (yes, the original donut steel geometrical shapes are worse than generic toads and other Mario universe characters) and worst gameplay (just jump like 5 times on this same enemy because you know, it has a ton of HP and shit even though it's a platformer where fluidity is key lol). Also the 3D space was empty as fuck and the time limit was pointless.

It has good music, that's it.

You're welcome.

Nah, that was my mistake when I wrote that. I realized I should've said put both in "Burning fucking trash fire tier" or at least both in "Mind numbingly boring tier" & put Super in "It's alright tier".

That being said I do think Color Splash went backwards in some ways. Like for example exploration, sure Color Splash has more to look for with all the colorless spots but I found the HP upgrades more rewarding for looking for stuff in Sticker Star unlike Color Splash where you just keep getting more after each world. Also in combat Sticker Star had better menuing that wasn't just a long row of cards, you didn't have to go through 5 prompts or so (one of which requires painting your cards) and then do that attack which have slower animations than Sticker Star did. Also while the losing color on damaged enemies is a cute effect at least Sticker Star gave you specific numbers so you know how strong an attack is, knowing how strong your attacks are can really help with strategy & item management since you know not to waste certain stickers/cards in hopes you know that's the final turn of a fight. There's also the little bit of Sticker Star not 100% forcing you to use the correct Thing sticker on bosses to rape them instantly unlike Color Splash where you're insta-killed for not doing it. Plus I don't recall Sticker Star having insta-death moments where a Chain Chomp follows you out of nowhere which I disliked in Color Splash. Beyond those though I do prefer CS over SS but not by much, it at least has some charm going for it & interesting locations. It's a bit of a rehash otherwise since the plot is pretty samey and it even has that whole "Partner sacrificing themselves for you" & then are shown to still be alive (albeit CS handles this better & seeing Huey survive is a completion bonus).

In the Color Splash options you can turn off some of the useless prompts and also turn on button controls for battles, after that it feels nice. I thought it was better than Sticker Star because you had much more space for cards and didn't have to fit them on pages.

I actually think the card/sticker system is not so bad but they made it bad by making 90% of the fights in the games winnable by spamming your strongest shit. In Color Splash near the end they had a bunch of fights where you had to figure out how to approach it like the Shy Guys on a trampoline and the tower of Buzzy Beetles etc. I wish the whole game was like that where fights were mini-puzzles and the answer wasn't "use the corret "thing" card."

>Plus I don't recall Sticker Star having insta-death moments where a Chain Chomp follows you out of nowhere
Oh I hated that bullshit, those odd action sequences are the only times I died in the whole game.
One of the big problems I had with CS is the fact that the game kick you out of the level when you get a pain star.
(This is even more annoying when there are two of them a stones throw away from one another)

>That forest level with the Hammer Bros throwing shit at you while you are just trying to proceed

It was one of those where you needed to do it twice (or maybe 3 times?) because of that shit.

I died like five times on the chain chomp segment alone.
This shit feels so out of place with the rest of the game being really easy.

>In the Color Splash options you can turn off some of the useless prompts and also turn on button controls for battles, after that it feels nice.
I'm aware of that but that doesn't change the fact you still need to go through multiple unnecessary prompt & confirmations for an attack to me. I do agree on the whole fitting stickers/cards in your pages though, that had it's annoying bits. I think if they merged the 2 kinds of menuing it would've been fine (as in have like 3 or at least 2 rows of cards and then you can go to the next page if needed but don't require the player to get more space).

This is partially why the Emerald Circus was one of my favorite parts in the game. That place also had somewhat different designs for the enemies like the Hammer Bros having circus hats and it was nice to see Dino Rhino again in a Mario game. Also Yoshi was nice to see as a NPC along with the 2 Hammer Bros after seeing so many Toads & Shy Guys.

>(This is even more annoying when there are two of them a stones throw away from one another)
I fucking despised that shit, it just added so much backtracking and I while everyone bitches over TTYD's backtracking I rarely see anyone mention how Color Splash also suffers from it. It doesn't help these areas are generally linear as well, like going through Daffodil Peak & Kiwano Temple were just fucking dull a second time, it doesn't help you don't know which Paint Stars are necessary for progression and which ones are optional.

Dark souls, undertale, jeez almost everything dunkey says he likes gains a cult following.

I feel they added this shit just for padding.
Most of the levels feel like this and its unbelievably annoying.

>worst character design
Subjective and I fail to see how you could even think that. I don't think the Pixls are great designs but they aren't the only characters in the game. And dozens of characters without defining features are definitely not worse.
>just jump like 5 times on this same enemy
Depends on the enemy. Most enemies die in one or maybe two hits anyway. Especially after getting cards. Just because it's a platformer every enemy has to die in a single hit? Explain this "fluidity" meme to me.
>the 3D space was empty as fuck
What was empty about it? There is quite a bit of stuff hidden in 3D mode. What should they have put there? You have to be more specific.
>the time limit was pointless
The point of the time limit is so you can't stay in 3D mode infinitely. Why is it a problem?

Yeah

Reminder Paper Mario modding is now possible & you can try out one already:
