What's Sup Forums's favorite RPG class?

What's Sup Forums's favorite RPG class?

Thief 100%

Cleric, clearly.

Warrior/Fighter/Barbarian
Whatever the main STR class is

I like the concept of a thief but there's pretty much no RPG that actually lets you be a proper one. It's always stealth archers or rogues with twin daggers.

RPGs have generally been dumbed down over the years to the point that what a thief would actually be good for isn't a gameplay element so they have an identity crisis and make up a bunch of ninja bullshit since there's no traps to disarm and many games won't even let you steal.

Knight is what I always try to go for. Mages really make no sense in the context of wandering adventuerer sorts.

Ragnarok's Monk.

You start with the same route as a priest but then you turn into a fighter while keeping your support abilities. You eventually get a skill that is a one shot kill on most enemies

>kannagi
a what now

dude weed lmao

Spellsword duh, best combo of brawn and brain, and their always the ones going on the most adventures

Engineer/Alchemist/Tinker

I recognize those chests.
They're from Log Horizon!

>Must get behind target to do massive damage
>Dies to a fart if targeted
Divinity original sins rogue was alright since they had blinks and stealth but have the issue of only being worth it for damage if you spend movement points to get behind them since daggers damage sucks if not a backstab and there is no other dex scaling melee weps on scoundrel skills scale off dex.

Monk. Nothing can beat it.

How? Magic is incredibly powerful and useful and travelling is a great way to learn more.

This is why Spellsword is best class

Paladin or Monk

Gunner/Cannoneer IF it's available. Berserker otherwise. If even THAT'S not available, then just ranger/hunter in a generic RPG class system.

Second favorite are the oddball classes, like Chemist or Beastmaster or Time Mage or just anything out of the ordinary.

What's a paladin?

explorer be cappable of almost everything in the is fun

One of Saladin's pals.

Its rare to see game to treat rouge differently. Ironically TOR is one of them, with the Assassin/Shadow class being able to be tanks or full-front DPS.

usually something like swordsmaster
basically wairrior for dexfags

Depends on who you ask, older DnD it's a warrior who uses holy magic to smite evil that they are given by a god. 5e DnD they still use holy magic but are less restricted in that they simply have to follow an oath they choose to use these powers. Pretty much some what of a tank who can give buffs to their immediate party members or self buffs to enhance their combat ability.

Pretty much a fighter who uses their Charisma(force of personality/will) to use magic of some type.

It's a meme you dip

Can't learn ultimate power if you're a hermit, user. You gotta wander and find alternate methods of magical application, involve yourself in experiences that open your mind to new possibilities.

Because they don't really make sense as traveling heroes. Mages shine when they have their own big ass wizard tower and they spend their days conducting experiments or something along those lines. I really just cant see a mage as a wandering adventurer. It doesn't make a lot of sense and the best you can do is mental gymnastics like "Oh I totally have a mage tower I'm just adventuring for supplies and shit"

All of them

In MMOs I tend to drift towards healer or tank, since I find it more engaging than just constantly shitting out DPS. There's also the added benefit of queuing for a dungeon and getting into a group before I can finish a sip of my drink. In turn based RPGs I like whatever lets me do a ridiculous amount of crits. Complete dexfag in ARPGs.

Dark Knight best class

>building an Asura monk

Gun knight with necromancer being a close second

That's why the wandering mage archetype is usually someone that has already learned whatever traditional academics can offer. They leave their colleges and books behind to find new foreign or forgotten magic.

I like high risk high reward gameplay, so berserker or something like blood mage

I want to hit things really hard

like holy shit I want to see damage caps I dont care if it's unviable

Other than that I like support classes

Ninja. Fuck you I like it.
I rarely actually play rogue or thief though, because stealth implementation is typically garbage. Usually I end up a berserker or duelist depending on how mechanically shit combat is, or support if I'm playing with people I know who don't want to.

Shrine maiden.

See what I mean? Mental gymnastics. You actually have to come up with a reason to justify being a mage where as warrior and rogue are just assholes who want money. The biggest offenders are shit like necromancers and warlocks who no possible way in hell would they ever be wandering adventurer sorts.

Vikings are also cool.

>not being a spellsword
Sorcery is GOAT I don't care if it's a fucking book

Bandit

I pick the least combat-oriented classes I can, pilgrim/bard/monk that disable enemies rather than stomp on them

TES games allow this to an extent, espcially Morrowind

any others?

I like the Warrior/Fighter/Knight.
Some dude who uses no fantasy tricks, but still manage to keep on par with magical wizards, jumpy rouges and holy clerics. Because heavy armor and martial skill is what makes you a good combatant.

I don't like classes in RPG's but if I had to pick it would be cleric.

Rouge is always fun

>You actually have to come up with a reason to justify being a mage where as warrior and rogue are just assholes who want money

There are countless reasons to be a warrior or a rogue that don't involve money. They might just want power, a title, women, to save others, to be an insane edgy fuck.

>not traveling to kill other mages and steal all their knowledge for yourself

I like spear users and sword and shield.

Dragoon is fun in ffxiv.

I remember when Asura Monks were undefeatable 1 on 1 in PvP.

The Scorpion of Classes.
daily reminder the scorpion did nothing wrong

The bullies of mmorpgs

a miserable pile of spoons

What is this helmet it doesn't match with the armour.
Next you will tell me he climbed that mountain.

Tits.

see that mountain?

Mages can't climb it.

Pick your poison

Which class lets me tax evade?

Any of the top 3 or summoner.

What do you mean it doesn't match. Great Helms existed by the time of Partial plate armor.

>Next you will tell me he climbed that mountain
He's a knight, he most likely have a team of manservants that carry his stuff.

mah nigga

Do you have the region locked classes

Bard and Wizards.

...

I like big fat bat tats too user.

>Western Europe
>Russia
Where's central europe and eastern europe

>Medicine Man
I don't get it.

Mage/wizard for me, if I have to go for a physical class anything with a mace or scythe

Cleric (Male(female))

Here my friend
I guess he meant witch doctor

Top tier taste right here

>Russia
>Cossack
>With map
So wrong I'm gonna puke.

better than making all the western slavs angry that they have to be part of russia server

>Paladin replaces Pirate and not Guardian
>Everything not West Europe is Russia
>Hussar and Cossack are melee classes when none use mounts to fight
>not Hetman

You don't seem to understand the problem. Your concept of a Cossack is detached from reality.

Mage. Specifically, an elementalist or something else that focuses on pure damage.

I'm not entirely sure.

Not every mage is a bearded old man in a pointy hat who treats magic like an academic science. As an example, in D&D, sorcerers are often drawn to the adventuring life because they have a passionate nature that wouldn't be satisfied from sitting around in a tower. Since their magic is spontaneous and innate rather than academic, they wouldn't have much use for experiments anyway.

The D&D sorcerer is actually my favorite kind of mage, at least in terms of lore. I don't particularly care for D&D's Vancian magic system, but I really like the idea of a passionate, charismatic spellcaster with inherent magical abilities. I haven't been able to find a lot of other games that let you make a character like that.

i think the author was trying to add cool classes while not knowing much about geography

>be an accomplished wizard in some fairy tale kingdom
>have to wander the earth and dungeons, quelling evil out of SHEER BOREDOM
how does it feel, pleb, to not be around someone who's the master of their element?

Because we removed levitation spells.

Obviously.

>Not mastering the element of fencing

It was broken and clashed with skyboxes.

Druids are cool and practical
Paladins are also a good choice

Warrior. sword and shield all the way if I can have a long beard better

Druid is that class I always pick because turning into animals and shit sounds cool and then in practice they are basically shitty clerics with a nature theme. I'm pretty disappointed every time.

>It was broken and clashed with skyboxes.
Oh, I agree that it was broken, and made level design pretty much impossible. Removing it was the right thing to do. It was just an easy joke to make.

I want an RPG where the main character is a support/bard to buff and debuff

Usually like being a rogue, but anything that lets me be a swashbuckler/dashing swordsman type is an instant win for me.

Succubus.

Either something with light/holy magic like a cleric/priest or dark magic like a necromancer/hexer.

You can play as makeup?

Mage Knight, Hunter, Paladin, Monk, Berserker, etc. I like characters who are versatile but still can do good damage.

Don't get me wrong rapiers are like my fave sword type. Sure it's not as iconic as a great sword or something like the master sword, but I cum buckets for that little circular hand guard. It's also the TRUE sword of the Supreme Gentleman, certainly better than the misogynistic katana or the unappetizing long sword
>pic related, not exactly a rapier but that's what the guard sort of looks like

Fbpb

Whatever class lets me fist fight, usually monk.

Swashbuckler, but I hate the dual-wield trope. Just let me use my free hand to maneuver/attack.

By the same token, someone can learn just enough magic to kill people and effectively be the exact same as the wandering mercenary you claim is exclusively someone that uses physical weapons. It's not "mental gymnastics" to have some backstory.

That's actually a build, and it has a skill that increases the damage when you are one-handed

TOP 3
1. Sorcerer
2. Monk
3. Necromancer

Evil Magic classes. Warlock or Necromancer.

Moreso Necromancer.

Is log Horizon any good?

Is it just an anime/manga or is there a game that goes with it as well?

Paladin
