Because crossing Blazblue with Guilty Gear is the most predictable fucking thing they could do with a Blazblue crossover. They want something that'll actually generate more bewildered discussion among people and build up more publicity. Also to save it for the sequel if that happens.

Well a lot of their specials and such just don't work for 2d since they change angles so that would have to be redone.
but the rest could theoretically just be ripped as images and shoved into sprites with some of the meme converters that exist these days. they would still likely have to be fixed up as said converters wouldn't be perfect.

How is her gunscythe going to work? Will she be able to propel herself with it for funky movement? How good will her projectile game be? How will her teleport ability thing work?

I bet the game is going to avoid bringing in unique mechanics from each series in favor of a universal system, plus its totally going to be a massive sprite dump ala Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Given that the arcsys sprite team isn't really doing anything right now since Jubei will be out next month, I think there will be a health number of RWBY characters, especially if they plan to do a full on RWBY game later on.

I bet this wont even hit arcades until next spring, at the earliest, let alone a home release.
