Tekken 7 Guest Characters

Why shouldn't the next guest characters for Tekken 7 be Akira or Jackie from VF and Ayane or Kasumi from DoA?

I'm guessing cause Akira was already in DOA5 and they wanted something new.

Akira is literally a 3D Fighter's patrician character.

I'd be pretty disappointed in Harada if he adds 2 great 2D legends but non of the 3D legends from VF and DoA.

Virtua Fighter would be cool, but most of them are too bland in my opinion. Shun Di would be sick, I'd main him 100%

DoA is more bland in terms of fighting mechanics. DoA has greater character design compared to VF, but the actual gameplay of DoA pales considerably to Tekken and Virtua Fighter. Those 2 series are the cream of the crop of 3D-plane fighters.

As cool as Akira coming to VF5 is, it should ideally be someone who, while iconic to their series, doesn't really step into an existing character's niche. Tekken already has Leo, who has essentially Akira's move set and fighting style without having to learn a doctorate.

I would fucking LOVE a VF character to appear in Tekken, literal dream come true.

But what would chock or hype me even more is a character from an Arc Systems game (alongside Akira)

I know it is. I love VF. My point is the character designs themselves are bland, it's the combat system that makes VF neat. Akira and Goh are way too bland to be interesting additions to Tekken, since they choose iconic characters with strong personalities. The moveset changes, but you'll be left with the character. Without his moveset (relying on a unique input system that won't be there in tekken) Akira has nothing. At least Shun Di has interesting mechanics and no crossover with existing characters since both Lei and Wang are missing.

I would immediately buy Tekken 7 if Akira was in it.

That's not true though because Akira would only be added into Tekken if he retained his moveset inputs, much like he did in DoA and how Ryu did in Sm4sh (and Akuma in Tk7 to a lesser extant).

not really since tekken already has ninjas. Master Raven has lots of flashy teleport moves like Kasumi. The izuna drop would be amazing but I feel that Bamco would try to add the counter system for Ryu specifically which would open a can of worms in terms of balance.

I'd still love to hear a tekken remix of this though.

They have similar move lists. Also techincally Master Raven would be the REAL raven since she taught him and Raven is simply just a subordinate of hers.

They should try Darkstalkers (not Morrigan). I wouldn't be surprised if they chose Shao Khan or Bison though. They seem to be going for angry muscled bad guys so far.

If it HAS to be a Virtua Fighter character, i would want best girl eileen, but realistically thst wouldn't happen. BUT! What about Goh? He could have a story involving a long standing Judo rivalry with Paul!

I don't like the devils in Tekken. I like Wang, Ganryu, Lei and Baek most out of everyone, and all four would fit well in a VF game. My issue isn't that they suck, it's that it's very unlikely for Namco to pick someone along those lines as the third guest slot when much more impactful characters with stronger personalities would pull more players. Shun Di or Akira would be sick in terms of playstyle but I don't see it happening.

Goh is definitely in the top 5 best VF characters, and I wouldn't in the least bit be mad if he was the VF rep. In fact, it would fit in with Akuma and Geese.

The main goal of guest characters is to approach people that normally wouldn't play Tekken by using a popular character from another current existing franchise. The second one is to be released in 2018. Now, if only Bandai Namco was releasing another fighting game during that period, so it could advertise both at the same time for no licensing effort...

The point of guest characters is to lure other FGC fans in, like Kof fags and SFfags.They don't care if dudebros or tekken fans don't know who they are, they are not the target audience.

I'd be super hyped for that, Pokken is a legit great fighting game but everybody assume's it's casual garbage even though it's actually almost entirely in line with other traditional competitive fighters; anything that would get more actual fighting game people into Pokken's scene would be great.

Also Machamp in Pokken is the biggest bro, he's great, would love to see him in tekken.

There are a couple problems with that:
1.Maybe your country forbids the use of firearms/knives even in self defense
2.You won't be quick enough to pull out a weapon
3.You'll get swarmed

Sometimes you have to get your hands dirty. It won't save your ass, but it gives you a fighting chance.
