What makes PoR the best game in the series and your favorite one by far?

Not my favourite but still fun. My favourite is pick related because I prefer Classicvania
It has by far the most content of the ds games all around at least. Even if a lot of it is reused.
The best is Symphony and my favourite is dawn of sorrow because it has the best ost in the series and music is my weak spot.
Here's an interview thing I guess.
youtu.be
Is that game any good? I never gave it a chance because of terrible character designs.
>play SOTN
>"Wow, this is the best game in the series!"
>play Dawn of Sorrow
>"This is better than the one I found to be the best in the series (and still do)!"
Wtf my nigga
>Had the itch to play Dawn of Sorrow
>Can't find it anywhere
Life is suffering
Why does Jonathan have such a big ass tho?
Not him, but it's possible to like something more despite it being technically inferior
>eat red apple
>"This tastes amazing!"
>eat green apple
>"I didn't find this to be better tasting than the red one but i like it more!"
What the fuck, I don't know what's real anymore... I have bad clinical depression so forgive me
Yes, it's fun even though it's kinda unpolished compared to the other 2 ds games
Is the joke here we say the opposite of what any rational man would say?
Intellectually you can evaluate one as better than the other, in terms of gameplay/content/overall quality etc. Emotionally, you prefer the other.
It's hard to choose my favourite because I love a lot of castlevania titles.
Symphony of the Night : perfect OST, Alucard is husbando material, Richter my bias wrecker is also there. Gameplay is fun as hell even if it is really easy and not very challenging. looks and sounds great overall.
Lords of Shadow : You can say what you want about this one, it has a really special place in my heart. The game feels like the greatest adventure ever, Gabriel is a character I like a lot. The music and the art direction are amazing. I liked a lot that it teased that he became Dracula. They tried to do something different with Castlevania, a different tone and gameplay, and as a fan I liked it because the franchise was going nowhere for years. Too bad the sequels are shit.
Rondo Of Blood : Hype game, feels like the best classic castlevania, great music, Richter is my favourite Belmont. Bloodlines is probably my favourite music in the entire franchise.
Order Of Ecclesia : I loved that they mixed a bit the Classic Castlevania levels and the metroidvania formula. The design is great and even if it's not Kojima it doesn't feel anime-ish like DoS and PoR that I despise a lot.
>attack cancels into crouch cancels into walk cancels into attack
>jump 8 times by kicking your girlfriend in the head
>happy couples can baseball slide around a castle at mach 1
>feels like the best classic castlevania
Can you explain why? People often say this but I cannot see any single aspect of it that is better than the NES titles except graphics and even then it isn't a good looking game for its hardware while the NES games were
It's perfectly good and better than 4, bloodlines and most of the more obscure ones, but I can't understand how someone who has experience with all of them could ever say it's the best one
PoR > DoS > OoE
HoD > AoS > CotM
So user knows SOTN is the best Castlevania game he has ever played, but his emotions are telling him it's too mainstream to say SOTN is your favorite Castlevania game or something
hence DoS is his fave
The shitty levels where you walk to the right and hunt for villagers frozen in carbonite remind people of games they have never played.
I remember there were lots of secrets to discover, despite being linear. Are Classicvanias like this?
objectively the WORST castlevania
>dawn of sorrow was the best
Rondo has the most secret areas if I remember correctly.
Most Classicvanias are strictly linear with just wallmeat here and there. CV3 has branching paths at the end of each level tho.
SoTN is still the best.
SoTN is the living proof that fun gameplay does not have to be "le difficulty based"
Soulsfags is whats wrong with modern gaming

Imagine you have a gf for a few years. She is not perfect, she has big flaws, but she is someone you love to hang out with, sex is great, you can talk about everything, you can share anything with her. There's an alchemy. She is sometimes bad tempered. But the flaws made you break up.
Your next girl is perfect, she's faithfull, she is supportive, cute, plain, average in term of taste, you can talk with her, she is not particulary interested in the same things as you but she is respectful, but everything is going fine, she is indeed the perfect chick after all.
I geniunely had those 2 relationships, and of course my favourite is obviously the first one because as a whole it was more interesting and emotional than the perfect chick. This is why I like LOS a lot even if it's a flawed game, it's a gow clone, it's whatever you want. But the game felt like a journey and I liked this adventure.
oh come on man. I love playin muh castlevania games and im also a souls faggot, can't we all just get along
i haven' tried bloodbourne and also had not gotten to finishing DS 2 and 3 yet but i played the fuck outta demon souls and dark souls 1
...
obviously because of CHARLOTTE
if it appeases thee
i played the fuck outta SoTN and OoE. just had not had the chance to go through cv 1 2 and 3 since sotn was babbies first castlevania
oh and i also think metroidvania is a shit term that should not even be used
>thread suddenly got times better
post more
CHARLOTTE
...
ok

It's actually a good question, and a hard one to answer. I know that the game is not that good looking (the snes port looks way better), even Bloodlines looks better. But the overall game was a blast. The gameplay was great and rewarding, it felt more story driven than the others classicvanias. I mean Rondo felt less like "hu gotta slain Dracula I guess". I'm probably a bit biased because I like a lot Dracula X Chronicles too or because Rondo Of Blood was my first Classicvania after beating C1 and Dracula's Curse ?
Dunno man, just love this game a lot.

Don't mean to rain on your parade but best girl has existed since the NES days.
Nobody really cared about Sylpha her until the show tho
bunch of sprites
literally who
So do those two fuck or what
>when you still cant get over Harmony of Despair never getting a port because its your favorite game
...
Wrong. Here is the best girl, even Dracula approves of her.
The mother of all future Belmont boyz
I want to play OoE but its like $50 and I dont want to spend that much on a DS game. Am I missing out or is OoE a meme?
Main game is fun, but Richter mode is miserable to play.
True, anyone is better than Charlotte.
Charlotte is bottom barrel weeb trash.
...
If your looking for a metroidvania with some challenge to it then it's a good game.
>waifushit in CV thread
This is what happens when you don't make it Castlemania thread.
l-lewd
Greatest DS Castlevania son, go for it, paid the same price for it and it was worth it. You will replay it for sure.
It had a bunch of sub-weapons and magic spells that were more fun to use than souls I think
>Not going full ZA WARUDO with time stop and knives
castlemania is dead anyway. it's leaked out to the internet at large.
All that food finally caught up to her.
>bunch of sprites
You just described every other Castlevania character.
The variety of environments, enemies, and unconventional playstyle option with Charlotte, though i wouldn't consider it the best by far. It's even with OoE for me as best
How dare you besmirch jonathan and charlotte!
>Have tried multiple times to get into 2D Metroid over the years, never really liked it
>Ignored Castlevania since I figured it's more of the same
>Download Aria of Sorrow on my 3DS on a whim
>Fucking love it
Should I play other Castlevanias? Should I give Metroid another chance?
>the new anime is smash hit with season 2 on the way
>Konami is in deep discussions over a new Castlevania for Switch.
You jive turkeys need to get on the grove train.
What's the best 3D Castlevania and why is it Curse of Darkness?
It's the worst on DS
...
I'd play the direct sequel (Dawn of Sorrow) next
Then probably Symphony of the Night and then you can stop being a fucking babby and play the classic ones
it had gameplay
Super Metroid and Symphony of the Night are really good.
Start there.
Dawn of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia are both great. If you want babby's first metroid try Zero Mission. Super Metroid and Symphony of the night, while they do feel older (that's not a bad thing unless you're a faggot) they are fantastic games.
I prefer 64/LoD.
>for Switch.
Yeah, if they want it to double flop lmao
Cool guy but he's really awkward. I wonder if its a cultural thing being from HK
I once comissioned an artist to draw a titty image of Charlotte from this game, with an upskirt revealing an itty bitty thong underneath. She had a lucious, thick bubbly ass and you could see her nips poking through the fabric of her top.
Should I find it and post it? It's kind of buried under a lot of shit.
Castlevanias usually have a good track record on Nintendo platforms.
Not to mention the franchise has been dormant since 2012. So a new game would definitely bring some attention
They're talking about a meme, you dip.
This meme, right here
dumb weeb
do it... please
who cares? faggot
I'll gift you reddit gold if you find it :)
Oh shit, didn't realize Dredd's producer was behind Netflixvania. That's neat.
>We love you
>Let me kiss you
>[slurping continues]
Literally the only Castlevania game I didn't enjoy.
DoS and OoE are my favourites by far.
Does anyone have a big ass Castlevania music archive? From the NES to modern games, and the remixes in between, I need some of that strange funkish Gothic feel for the slow days at work.
Being an idiot must be suffering, indeed.
Can someone recommend which games I should play? Are they all canon?
You're playing the wrong game if you care about the story.
They're not all canon but you should start with
classic games
if you're not a pleb, castlevania 1. If you are a pleb, rondo of blood or dracula x chronicles. Then later play 3, 4 and bloodlines.
For metroidvanias
SotN or Aria of Sorrow first then whatever
>They're not all canon
at least mention there is like 1-2 official games that arent canon
You made it sound like half of them are bastard sons faget
What's the difference between Classic games and the Metroidvania games like SOTN or Aria? Do they play differently?
There's a music collection box with like 18 fucking CDs out there. I'm sure you can find it somewhere.
Trevor best Castlemania.
Classic games are very slow paced platformers which have a very unique control scheme/design and almost always have you playing as a whip using Belmont who are kind of the protagonists of the series
Metroidvanias are fast paced exploration games with RPG elements and generally have you playing as a sword using non Belmont, though there's one or two where that doesn't apply
They're very different, storywise they're connected but most people treat them as near different franchises
>Are they all canon?
no
"Free PC Check" should be changed to "We Love You"
best Castlevania ever
CHARLOTTE
