We're more than halfway through the year now. Wondering what are your picks for GOTY so far.
I'm gonna go with the N'Sane trilogy.
GOTY 2017?
...
But GOTY 1996 is already determined man and it's not Crash
WOAH
Obviously this.
I havent played either but Nier is better than Crash
Good taste. This is probably my GOTYAY to be honest
Nioh was pretty great.
I got 100% in the first Crash and I don't think I'll bother with the others.
>button mashing waifu anime trash
>implying I'm not gay
How can she be my waifu if I like dicks, user
>I got 100% in the first Crash and I don't think I'll bother with the others.
Why? 2 is a big step up from 1 and is generally considered the strongest of the trilogy, both original and remade. 3 is a step up in some ways as well, though arguably a mixed bag as well with having the most variety which is a double edged sword.
I guess I don't like platformers that much. The frustrating parts overshadowed the fun ones. I also have a tendency to collect everything, which didn't help.
This. Haven't played Zelda yet though.
It's obviously going to be BOTW, regardless of there being better games out this year. It's too big of a meme not to win it.
Breath of the wild. For me anyways. Crash is a pretty goo choice too OP.
Fair enough. I can see why, since going for 100% in these games can get really frustrating if you go for it.
BotW is my GotY so far but the year ain't over yet.
Probably has the weakest gameplay of all things P* has done, complete disappointment.
Dream Daddy tbqh
I didn't bother going for the relics since I already hate time trials. I can see why the games are loved though.
Tekken 7
Mad World
Anarchy Reigns
Korra
Turtles
All had worse combat. Every other Platinum game has worse variety. Retards whine Nier's combat isn't as deep as Bayo's and ignore that combat is the ONLY thing Bayo does.
>goty
>a fucking remaster
So this is how far we've fallen
But video games are button smashing.
I haven't played turtles or korra so you got me there but I gotta disagree on the other two.
>combat is the only thing bayo does
It's not but even if it was what would be the fucking problem? Gameplay should have top priority, don't be a muh story faggot. Nier:A was just all around a mediocre game.
That game is terrible.
I used to shill T7 so hard as well.
I'm taking exclusively about gameplay. Nier has far more variety than the endless combat arenas and QTEs of Bayonetta. Bayo does combat very well but that's the only thing the game does. It's like comparing the racing in Gran Turismo to the racing in GTA. One focuses soley on that aspect while the other does a lot more.
Gravity Rush 2 for now. I will also say this has been the best year for games in a long time. I would have a very tough time trying to rank them in after going past number one.
>gameplay should be top priority, don't be a muh story faggot
>games shouldn't be able to explore different concepts and ask questions to the player because muh combos
You pretty much just said "any art that isn't photorealistic is shit art"
No, numbnuts. No. It's a remake. Remakes aren't GOTY.
As opposed to what, paddle pushing? Atarifag detected.
Yeah dude, the super epic hacking that's piss easy and the also piss easy on rail shooter sections makes up for the horrible ground combat and puts it above Bayo's excellent combat that feature actual depth with AT.
No.
I said gameplay should be first priority, not the only thing. Fuck off faggot.
Oh shit. Yh GR2 was pretty good as well.
>ctrl+f persona
>0 results
Leave it to Sup Forums to have shit taste.
Either that or BotW
It's definitely my goty
"guys whats your goty"
>everyones posting biggest aaa+++ mainstream games
Like I cannot tell if people are shills or genuinely grown out of video games and are now part of the big dumb milkable crowd known as /gamers/.
As weird as that sounds i think Automata is a beter Taro game than P5 is a persona game
Not saying it's bat or anything
Persona 5.
Great game but it has it flaws.
Persona is my runner up. I like Nier a tad more. P5 is still fantastic though.
>platshit
>GOTY
I lol'd
Nier for me.
Zelda & Persona 5 are great too
Literally the first reply to this thread is as indie as it gets
BotW
So post yours
faggot.
Zelda
BOTW
P5
Automata
I can't pick yet, gimme 5 more months to think it through.
My personal GOTY is a little indie game that I won't mention by name because people will start screaming shill. But it involves something empty and something about knighthood.
Yakuza 0 is some great shit despite being released originally in 2015, looking forward to seeing how Kiwami turns out.
Does the final chapter make it GOTY material? I left it on the first credit sequence and thought the end boss was a cluster fuck but pretty cool, but I just didn't enjoy it as much as the original for some reason despite GR2 being the much better game.
BotW and Hollow Knight are my favorites.
Nier Automata and Persona 5 are really good too
P5 by a hair
Nier is the runner up
The last chapter is fairly long with some interesting aspects. Unfortunately it does bring up a lot more questions that will likely never be answered. I thought it was important to play, but if the game didn't click with you up to that point the last chapter probably would not change that. Also, to increase enjoyment with the game, make sure not to mash stasis even though it is effective. Both this and the first game were much more fun if you play for style rather than efficiency.
Persona 5 easily, it managed to completely exceed my beyond high expectations.
At the moment it's my game of the decade as well as being tied with Phantasy Star IV as my favourite game, I have no idea how Atlus did it
Why is Crash so sad?
Thinken of shitty remake
Yakuza 0 or Prey
Not even better than the originals
well so far crash, ~20 year old games but stil had tons of fun.
How is Prey? I honestly wasnt interested at first but hearing its apparently a good mix of Bioshock and System Shock gameplay makes me curious.
Bit disappointing to hear, maybe I'll give it another replay to see if it's the kind of game that gets better on a second playthrough
Prey is pretty great
Great level design and freedom
Amazing soundtrack
The ending is a bit disappointing though
If you liked Bioshock and System Shock you'll probably like it. It's more close to SS
Specter of Torment
I think Sonic Mania or Mario Odyssey will beat it though
Weird, to me it felt like a worst SK campaign so far
I thought it was weaker than Plague of Shadows, but I still adored it, especially new game+. It's just fun as fuck to chain abilities in Specter of Torment.
It really could've used one more level at the end, but it's fine.
This year is pretty good. I'd say there is only one winner though and that is YOU, THE PLAYER
DID SOMEONE SAY GOTY 2017?
>half of those games aren't even out yet
>Ratinking games that aren't even out
>All the positions
I didn't know it was possiboe to be this much of a faggot with shit taste
>all of this nintendoshit
>anything except blunder of the year
Nice fucking bait
Did you even read the top left?
Can we ban ACfag?
N.Sane revises history, and your bing bing wahoo half A-press time travel meme will have its GOTY withdrawn.
As of right now I'm torn between Nier, Yakuza 0 and Persona. I liked Zelda but once I had seen all of the areas and did like 80 shrines I burnt out very quickly, I didn't even beat the game.
seconded for Nioh, but this second half of the year has some pretty great stuff coming up
What do you see in it?
Don't get me wrong, not disagreeing with you.
I just like hearing why people love the games they love.
Yes, and it's still utterly retarded.
nothing yet. probably sonic mania or mario(if it comes out this year) will goty
>it's okay to endlessly hype a game months before release because companies are our friends :)))
>but how dare you make a critical analysis?! Every negative word said about an upcoming game could cost companies billions of dollars! How will they ever afford another yacht for their CEO's?
>I just like hearing why people love the games they love.
Cute!
Nigga das gay.
