Path of Exile

1 week my niggas. Are your builds ready?
Mine were. Then GGG destroyed crit builds and now i have nothing.
Also RIP power/frenzy charges.

Hopefully this makes me actually want to level more than one character per league

I want Witch to bully Scion into submission and then finish her off with her wand, but no i dont got a build ready but im hyped.

>RIP power/frenzy charges.

What did they do to them?

pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1927472/page/8#p14637825
They're stupid

Power charges now only give crit chance and spell damage. Frenzy gives more damage, but only to attack skills.

Whats hilarious is that they just announced a chest that gives frenzy charges with traps, and traps are not attacks.

Aren't there older uniques that are trap and frenzy based aswell?

league looks fun, but these changes doesn't make any sense atm.

Probably gonna roll something with minions, srs or new skelies+chaos thing or something so CI\charges\ailment changes wont affect me in any way.

Seriously, these changes are warframe devs levels of stupid

Only Jaws of Agony. There are passives in the skilltree that give frenzy/power charges when traps are triggered too.

>haven't played in a while
>not enough autis to read build guides
how fucked am I if I make a straight forward melee/life build?

>Seriously, these changes are warframe devs levels of stupid
Its a such a fucking mess. It feels like there are multiple teams balancing shit and they're not even testing their shit.

Ironically melee/life is a much safer bet than most builds right now.

I'm going to steal the most cookie cutter build available at the last possible moment, same as always.

I just got into the beta on xbox. I can't fucking wait to get home from work and try it out.

How did they make melee/life safer than casterfags? Is that even possible?

Not safer as in staying alive, but safer as in viability. They've been going in a nerfing spree with pretty much everything that was good but melee (non-crit) stuff.

Is a build focused on blocking and lifestealing with counter attacks viable ? I was going to make one when i first got into the game but i lost interest in the game and now it seems like a nice opportunity to get back to it.

everything is viable. When people say things are shit thats just neckbeard hyperbole and generally just clear speed consideration.

>If I cant crit nearly every single attack its not worth it.
Based GGG bringing crit back to being something special and dangerous instead of just Diablo 3 super damage.

Yeah crit was just too good. Crit was always better if you had the choice between crit or non crit so this is good.

based GGG

now you will have to actually think to dps instead of the mechanics just holding your hand for you

You could probably do something with counter skills if you went gladiator. I have no fucking idea how you would link those skills though.

do most people play the season ladder mode or the normal mode? i cant be bothered to level a new guy to max and i havnt played since the last ladder ended so he will be in normal mode noq

I was going to do a Martyr of Innocence CoC build but dunno now.

if you talking about killing shit JUST with counters like on release of these then probably no, unless facebreaker berserker, but still kinda meh if we are talking about high end shit. But block builds in general are still pretty strong, new Surrender unique shield is especially cool for tanking and blocking stuff

Are they adding any cool new skills with the expansion that are build-worthy?

most of people play on fresh leagues, yes

I'm going with some minion build but not sure witch yet. Currently waiting for new announcement with nerfs to minions.

Just fucking slap +50% damage taken as a "reward" for killing last boss.

i'll just make a summoner witch and watch as my zombies and my skeleton totem slowly kill everything.
worked well enough in 2013, i even got into maps with it, although it definitely was painfully slow towards the end. i guess with the new ascendancy necromancer thing it will be a lot stronger than it was back then.

Storm burst looks pretty cool.

LOL
fukkin rip

Berserker RF seems super strong still since it only gives a fuck about endurance charges, so that's what I'm going.

who do i watch on youtube for the most OP builds? i remember some guy who looked pretty buff and made PoE build guides but cant remember the name, anyone know who it was?

That was Lifting Nerd Bro. If by OP you mean damage-wise then none of the HC players are worth watching, so maybe watch Mathil for some glass-canon shit.

How are summons looking in 3.0? SRS still okay? Baronmancer still fun? SRS still shit?

pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1927828/page/1 Update regarding changes. Hoping for GGG to get their faces out of eachothers butts.

That's the update with the new chapters and removing having to play through them 3 times, right?
Will probably play some caster, as the previous league was a pain as melee (was a Wild Strike Witch).

Doesnt look like it, they dont want people sitting at the crit cap with a moderate amount of investment, again this isnt diablo 3.

>There's a common misconception in the community that our balance team doesn't play Path of Exile. They actually do play it, a whole lot.
And none of those players actually play traps.

>assassin has less crit power than ascendant
>trickster has a node that grants +1 frenzy and +1 power charge for literally no reason
>sabooty still trash

>assassin had that one thing it does with the infinite poison damage so we bombed it
>other classes should seek shelter from the aftershock

>Crybabies crying over one of the most played ascendancies being nerfed.
Pottery

>Nerfed assassin because people asked for it
>Meanwhile support necro is the most broken shit in the game and is just ignored

Console port was a mistake

Are trap spam builds viable again? I stopped playing them after they put them all on the same cooldown and have been away for a while.

They're even less viable as of yesterday.

Summon Skeletons will summon only one (1) minion, and they will add Channeled Summon Skeletons.

You heard it here first.

>There's a common misconception in the community that our balance team doesn't play Path of Exile. They actually do play it, a whole lot

Yeah I'm sure that intern (who designed Invasion league and Blade Vortex) has a lot of free time to play this trash and browse ribbit for balance suggestions.

clips dot twitch dot tv/RichPrettyDootKeyboardCat GGG just half-asses this shit right now

Last time I played was on release copied some build from forum got to 50-something and got bored, you think It would be worth trying the game agian? or will I end up playing for 3 days like diablo3 and quit till next season.

Its worth a try. You don't have to do the same 4 acts 3 times now.

I'm trying to decide between sword and board varunastra glad or iron commander deadeye. Both seem exceptionally appealing.
I know varunastra gladiator is going to work so gonna test iron commander this evening and see which is more fun.

I dont get this meme

What is wrong here? This doesn't look like its a sole trap build item its a trap support kind of item like you will throw traps but probly dps from something else

Is everyone MERELY PRETENDING?

Blocking with lifesteal is one of the options I'm going to roll with this patch. It's exceptionally strong if you couple it with Surrender or Aegis Aurora shields.

The only trap you'd want to throw in a non trap build is vaal lightning trap and that would in no way sustain the charges or even the phasing.

/poeg/arbage please go kill yourself thanks

I really liked how universal the charges were, not anymore i guess.

Same here. I kinda liked the general premise that all charges are useful to anyone if you give 'em some thought. But now it seems braindead "phys = frenzy", "spell = power" duality.

>freeze can only slow down enemies that are weak enough to be blown away in a couple of hits
What the actual, unironic fuck is this shit

>carpal starts acting up
>now i have to play a lazy totem/trap build

i mean, it was probably what i was going to do anyway, but i still don't like being forced to play a certain build.

Are there any decent changes to minions apart from damage increases? Managing stuff like spectres is still a bag of dicks and Necromancer is still the only viable minion ascendancy.

>wanting the game to hold your hand and bosses to melt

instead of slowing for 30% now you slow for like 15 because you need to stop being a casual

They have a new skill that'll use the minions like pinball bumpers

Got any videos or links?

Got any proof to back that up

youtube.com/watch?v=mV34pioR3UE

That's kind of cool, I guess. Not really what I was hoping for though.

Gonna go totem rf since my usual starters a rip.
Will switch to selfcast later when i get the gear.
Kinda want to do channeling stuff since they seem to be pushing this meme and i've never tried it, maybe for a second build or if i rip to a harbinger pack or something.

>rf totem

may as well go ssf since this is going to be the #1 meta build of the entire league

whose fault is that ?
i planned like this assuming the 3.0 release would be in the exact same spot the beta is
its the only thing that still does well in early maps
i still hope they rebalance this shitshow before release

>Traps in 3.0

ggg's fault

>mom buffed
>crit nerfed
>ci nerfed
>blasphemy nerfed
>burning buffed
>endurance charges only charges left untouched
>cheap as shit
>easy as shit

Also the autist Milkychance feverishly spends his entire day updating his rf totem guide for 3.0. He has it pretty minmaxed and it's one of the most active threads on the forum. Loads of people will play this build.

wouldnt know about that
i leveled 4 characters to 80+ during the beta and i've had the most luck with rf
warchief slammer was ok i guess but its always my starter and i'm kinda done with that shit
poison is such absolute trash i had a hard time clearing T1s with a poison based build
