Just to clear things up

Just to clear things up.

>Modded Oblivion > Modded Skyrim > Modded Morrowind

>Oblivion > Morrowind > Skyrim

Arena & Daggerfall are completely irrelevant by this point. And I'm an Oldfag having just turned 30. The only people that bring up these two are edgy man-children that like to call others underage.

Arena was never good but fuck you for your shit taste Daggerfall is objectively the greatest Elder Scrolls game. Most of the mods people install are unwittingly being downloaded to make it more like Morrowind. If you ever download a prostitutes mod, a banking mod, a mod that makes it more like Morrowind, a mod that adds shit Fable lied about having you're trying to make it more like Daggerfall. Daggerfall approaches a level of autism we just don't see in video games anymore. The closest equivalent today would be heavily modded Mount and Blade.

Holy shit, someone with good opinions.

>vanilla oblivion
>better than a dog turd sandwich

lmao

The only real gripes I have with Oblivion is the level-scaling and the last boss. Otherwise it's a better than Skyrim, at least. Morrowind is dated, but it has by far the best writing and world.

>be a mutated humanoid slug man
>break into someone's house in the imperial city
>go to the pantry to steal some food
>look inside
BY THE NINE DIVINES! A SALT, A SALT!

>vanilla oblivion better than vanilla morrowind
>having this much of a shit taste

Vanilla
Morrowind>Skyrim>Oblivion
Modded
Morrowind>Oblivion>Skyrim

why oblivion fags have to shit every TES thread or have to start one with their shitposting? oblivion aged worse than morrowind and it's only enjoyable for its lore

Morrowind>Skyrim>Oblivion

>muh waifu simulator

what mods should I get for Morrowind?

This, tbchwyd.

>oblivion aged worse than morrowind and it's only enjoyable for its lore

I'm playing the shit out of Oblivion right now and find it a lot worse in terms of lore than Morrowind (books, quests, etc).

Care to share where I should lore-hunt better?

Mr. Cellophane's Lovers and Legends if you want sex mods :^)

Vanilla
Morrowind > Oblivion >>>>> Skyrim
Modded
Morrowind > Oblivion >> Skyrim

MGSO (or MGE + Code Patch)
LGNPCs (less generic npc pack)

There. Go nuts.

thanks mate

>Comparing the single most complex dungeon in Morrowind to one of the most simple in Skyrim

Tamriel rebuilt, Morrowind comes alive, and MGE

Also stuff like Morrowind Better Bodies and Less generic NPCs wouldn't hurt.

Vanilla: Oblivion > Morrowind > Skyrim

Modded: Skyrim > Oblivion > Morrowind

TES 6 fucking when?

Morrowind Rebirth for the mainland

Tamriel Rebuilt for the largest mod in terms of scope

>"open world"
>NPCs stand around doing absolutely nothing
>zero world interaction unless the player is directly involved
>most people are mutes, just stand there mind reading entire conversations
>Clearly hit that guy in the face? LOL no you missed m8
>Enter tavern, can't even sit on a chair
>"Best in the series!" - Morrowfags smashing the keyboard with their landwhale fingers trying to defend this shit

is calling someone an oldfag because of his age instead of how long he lurks is a new meme or is op just a summerfag?

>Skyrim is good modded

I don't get it. It's the same shit game but with shiny graphics.

That's the first story dungeon in Morrowind , have you even played it?

stay mad

>Enter tavern, can't even sit on a chair

wtf I hate Morrowind now.

it makes the game playable fixing most of it and giving you most of the gameplay alternatives it should have as a "roleplaying" game

>can't even sit on a chair
>this is why kids play video games
It's time to stop posting, son.

Skyrim can be pretty good if you're not bothered by the questlines.

Add in a total overhaul that aims to make the gameplay a bit more like an "oldskool" RPG, i.e Requiem. then top it off with survival mods so you need to stay warm, eat, sleep, drink, can create camp fires etc. Makes the game feel totally different and a lot of players are into that kind of thing.

>still butthurt at Fable
the games are amazing anyway, deal with it

Oblivion one seems more complicated desu

I tried that. Requiem is poorly designed/balanced, and the survival mods are fun, but they quickly become boring. I had all of the survival mods downloaded and tried several of the overhauls. In total I had 120+ gameplay mods installed, including perma death. I had fun for about 5 hours just surviving in the wilderness before I realized just pointless it was. If the quests were good, and the combat was balanced better, and the world was more interesting, then it would have been a 10/10 experience with mods.

How is that coming along?
Years ago I heard all the terrain was done but they still have to populate it.

>Vanilla Oblivion at the top
>Especially over Daggerfall
>Vanilla Morrowshit not only slightly better than Arena

I don't know how someone can have standards that low.

well, obviously you're going to get bored if you don't set yourself goals within the game and if you don't like the quests and setting then it was not for you in the first place, i'm not trying to defend skyrim in it's entirety but enjoyment on that aspect is largely subjetive of course there are objetive factors that makes it better or worse for each person.

Let all be honest. This game is the best in the series in terms of lore.

...

It just looks that way due to the map. It's a simple bifurcated path.

Ok, what are some good mods for Oblivion and how would you compare the elder scrolls games to the witcher games. It seems to me that the witcher does everything that skyrim does but better but gets a lot more hate.

>people have been posting this unironically for years without realizing it was meant to be bait

>not using Improved closefaced helmets
trash.jpg

Daggerfall is the only good Elder Scrolls game.

...

>I was pretending to be retarded the whole time

...

People always said Oblivion was as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle but really that's the perfect analogy for Daggerfall.

>biggest video game landmass in existence
>it's just the same assets shuffled around 1,000 times thanks to procedural generation

Is oscuros oblivion overhaul any good?

I hated oblivion's level scaling with a passion.

>unmodded Oblivion the best
>with that level scaling

Vanilla Morrowind is the best of the vanilla games, by a lot. Modded Skyrim is pretty good, but not as good as modded Morrowind. I haven't played Modded Oblivion in ages, not sure where I would rank that. Currently playing Daggerfall for the first time. It's awesome.

MGSO is trash.

At a minimum you want:
>The Morrowind Patch Project
>Delayed DB Attack V2
>Illy's Solsteim Rumour Fix
and either
>Morrowind Code Patch and MGE XE
or
>OpenMW

If you want to go crazy with it, follow one of these guides:

Sure, it's the same shit game with shiny graphics if you only install graphics mods. Install Morrowloot Ultimate and all the mods that have compatibility patches for it, plus all of EnaiSiaion's mods and Skyrim becomes a pretty good game.

Yes.

OOO + MMM compatible version (pick lore friendly) is a great base overhaul to add specific smaller mods on top of. One of the most fun gaming experiences I've had.

It's amazing how stamina mattering a lot and an injury and poise system can improve the game's combat tenfold.

>MGSO is trash.
why?

Guess I'll give it another go then.

Time to spend hours downloading and optimizing hundreds of graphics mods.

It's unstable, extremely outdated, and aesthetically a mess.

there's already neat shit in the eastern parts. South is still badly in progress. Don't know how's west coming along

shit man I installed it before you said it was trash, I'll download openMw instead, is it good?

MGSO and OpenMW are two different things, and while OpenMW has support for graphical things, it's not by itself a graphical overhaul.

The Song of Pelinal.

Why does this nigga look like he's about to ask me to upgrade his robot army?

so should I get code patch, MGE, delayed DB attack and solsteim rumor?

I started playing daggerfall, it is fun once you mess with the controls a little bit, the cities are huge and sometimes when you arrive in one they are celebrating some holiday.

Skyrim, and Fallout 4 to a greater extent both fall into this fun to aimlessly wander around and do small shit in for me, but once I start major quests I either loose steam, or just push though.

Skyrim at least with Dragonborn and Dawnguard I found the quests enjoyable enough and actually like doing those main quests but for the majority of the Guilds and the main quest I just ignore it unless it gets me something I want.

Is OpenMW actually capable of doing anything now? I was expecting it to take at least 5 more years to get anywhere.

its been fully playable for a good while

OpenMW is an engine replacement. It supports most Morrowind mods. It is far more stable than the vanilla engine that Bethesda has been grafting new features onto all the way from Morrowind to Fallout 4. In nearly 100 hours I've maybe had it crash once. Easily the most stable experience I've had playing a Bethesda game.

You want the Patch Project, Delayed DB, and Solstheim Rumor either way. If you don't choose to use OpenMW you want the Code Patch and MGE XE. Those mods are pretty much the minimum you want for a "vanilla" playthrough.

Yeah, it's totally playable.

Cool, the last time I looked at it all you could really do was run around.

wtf I love Link to The Past now

Arena was worst than skyrim, daggerfall did everything better

I've never played Daggerfall or Arena. I heard you can visit all of Tamriel in those games does this count for places like the Imperial City and Vivec? I want to see the original visions. Also, I hear you visit Dagoth-Ur in Arena. Is the lore consistent?

Arena is terrible. Dont expect any unique landmark. Dungeon are ok, but enemies are spawn randomly.

Daggerfall is bash only by people who couldn't finish the first dungeon.

Dungeon were generated, but its the same map for everybody and all big sidequest and main quest dungeon are made by hand with unique features.

Character creation is huge, you can create every DnD class you can think of. Its such a great game, shame its so buggy at time.

Its getting remake in Unity by a madman btw. Quests are now working and in 2 week main quest is gonna be available.

HYPE

>most flattering possible angles that show off the entire cities vs least flattering possible angle that excludes the castle, market, and low town

Skyrim sucks, but that image is shit.

The first dungeon isn't even that bad. Every other dungeon is a total labyrinth in comparison.
Also gotta love the people in cages.
>Get sent by the Mages guild to a den of necromancers to kill their leader
>It's full of rats and bats, not a man or mer in sight
>finally find the necromancer leader
>in a cage somehow
>female sprite
>game refers to it as male
I love this game. Was waiting for DaggerXL or Daggerfall Unity to play it, but after years of waiting I finally gave in.

>Arena is terrible
It plays like a terror game

Daggerfall had some neat things, my favorite was banks, and taking out huge loans. Buy a ship and then fuck off while your reputation in that area plummeted.

>>NPCs stand around doing absolutely nothing
>>zero world interaction unless the player is directly involved
>>most people are mutes, just stand there mind reading entire conversations
>>Enter tavern, can't even sit on a chair
These were all near-universal tropes pre-7th gen.Jesus haven't you underage fags at least played pokemon.

>voice acting
>a good thing
With voice acting
>you get much less dialogue
>fewer NPCs
>non-interactable NPCs
>mods stand out as either having different, terrible actors or not having them at all
>mods like LGNPC are impossible
