How often do you participate in discussions about games that you've never played?

How often do you participate in discussions about games that you've never played?

Very often. I don't need to play a video game to know I hate it. Sometimes, watching it on youtube is enough to see what's wrong with it.

Rarely, I only talk about games I haven't played when it's a game I'm looking forward to.

I haven't played the last Mass Effect game but Bioware has burned me way too many times for me not to laugh at its failure

My iron rule is not to criticize something I haven't played and by extension I disregard any opinions coming from someone who hasn't played the game in question. I'm sick to death of faggots who think watching someone on YouTube play something means that they themselves have played it.

I'll still talk about games that haven't come out yet, though.

You realize you're on Sup Forums right?

Pretty often, but it's usually during pre-release or when I'm planning on buying it anyway

I've never touched a video game in my life, so all the time I guess.

Good thing I'm on Sup Forums and not on some videogame related site.

Depends on what's being discussed. If it's only about specific game aspects then no. If it's about a general topic like a popular gameplay mechanic or a trope then yes.

I exclusively do so

Just trying to figure the scale.

All the time. I generally start by saying something nice about it that I heard somewhere else and then proceed to bash it without knowing what the hell I'm talking about, usually using arguments that I read here without verifying if they are true.

Everyday

>he still plays video games

Not really that often. It's not as fun shitposting about a game I don't know shit about.

Not often.
I used to hangout with a bunch of pill popping stoners that would play batsman and borderland all the time.

They would ask me to play and I told them I didn't like those games because they didn't look fun.
Then they would start defending the games and I told them I'm glad they like it, and then I would apologize for not being interested.
I would say
"I wish I could enjoy games like this"
Then they would talk shut about how pretentious I am.

I brought over dark souls when it first came out and was telling them I bet they couldn't beat it in a week and they were all giddy to try.
I came by that weekend and they couldn't pass Havel. They got a spear already so I naked rolled that fool and they were all in shock. "It's not hard guys. Just watch what you're doing"

Now they're all dark souls fan boys and worse than ever. They use guides unforgivably.

They lived with my best friend. I just wanted to play fight night

Only if it's a game that interests me. I'm gonna check out Kingdom Heart's threads occasionally because I'm interested in playing it since I've never done so before, though you won't see me in other Jap game releated threads since most Jap games don't grab my attention really.

Never unless I'm really curious about said game

Does watching LPs count as having played the game?

Depends on a "game".

I exclusively search the catalog for games I have played. I ignore all hype threads as well.

Welcome to Sup Forums, you'll fit right in.

I don't. I can't say shit about a game I merely saw on youtube or a stream. People that do this are the equivalent of those who read the synopsis of a book or an episode and try to comment. It's tacky.

hot

I often find it's not always necessary as you can share stories of similar experience for instance expressing frustrations with team mates in team games.

>finish a game
>open up Sup Forums
>there's a thread on the front page about it
