DS4
Always choose the controller with the better dpad.
XboneS > every other controller > DS4
DS4 is worst controller bundled with PlayStation. LT/RT buttons are total annoyance since the way it's actually comfortable to hold that thing those fucking buttons scratch your finders. Tried 3 different pads, all have that problem.
XboneS controller is update of 360 controller and it's really close to be the comfiest controller.
Xbox is better than PS when just going with default.
Xbox Elite is best hands down.
Also XboneS controller works flawlessly with PC whether through cable of bluetooth.
it's a matter of preference
>It's another retro grandpas argue about d-pads for 400 posts episode
For modern games asymmetrical sticks are the most ergonomic in my opinion. I prefer the 360 controller to the Xbox One though. You can get a wired 360 controller for cheap for use on PC.
If you want to play retro games buy a USB Saturn controller or something.
For me, it's the Dualshock 4. Own both controllers and DS4 fits in my hands better, I don't really mind the joystick placement.
PS no competition
having one stick higher than the other is so annoying and wrong
the bone
symmetrical sticks feels weird to me but i can see why you might prefer the ds4 dpad
i like the playstation layout for games where you use the d-pad and buttons, or both analog sticks, and i like the xbox layout for games where you use the left analog and buttons, so i use either controller depending
playstation controllers suck. was a big ps2 fan. always wanted an original xbox never got one. one started playing the 360 recently and love the controller in comparison to sony controllers
I prefer the DS4, but modded with Xbone sticks. Although the Xbone controller is not bad.
Xbox easily
I'm a PC+Sony idort and I am not a fan of the DS4 even though I use it for everything out of convenience.
Pros:
Great d-pad
Nice sticks and face buttons
Cons:
Squishy analog triggers with too much give
Bumper buttons are kind of squishy as well and have no click
d-pad above left stick triggers me to no end
pointless share button and touch pad gimmick
Xbox unless you have tiny asian hands.
>people argue about the sticks and d-pad when the DS4 controller has quite possibly the worst triggers ever to appear on a controller.
they're fine tho
I mainly play fighters, so PS4 pad
Ds4 with these things
Does it pair well with Android? I'm looking for a controller to play emulators on my phone and all the chinkshit ones that seem OK cost as much as an Xbone S controller.
For me it's Xbox. The DS is WAY more comfortable and a nice improvement from Sony's previous controllers but I've never liked the triggers on any of them. My only problems with the Xbox one controllers is that the sticks are a bit smaller than the old controllers and there's an edge on the bottom of the controller that kinda irritates my palms when I play.
DS4 is trash and dumb to smoke
how hard is it to mod in different sticks, anyway?
Xbox but the ds4 isn't bad I would say Xbox one>360>ds4
Did you not ever use the DualShock 3? Though if I had my way, controllers would stop having triggers altogether and just all be shoulder buttons again like the early PS days.
How could it have the worst triggers when the DS3 exists?
Somebody post that screencap of the dude electrocuting his penis on a DDR mat.
Xbone sticks are incredibly easy. Open the controller, pull out old sticks, pop in new ones. Nothing else needed, they fit without modification.
The ones in my pic just clip on top of the normal sticks. I don't know what is involved in swapping them for xbone sticks.
>DS4 controller has quite possibly the worst triggers ever to appear on a controller
>When DS3/Sixaxis exists
The DS3 had terrible triggers, but those also weren't hindered further by making them thin as fuck for no apparent reason.
DS4
Better DPAD
Ability to use the touchpad as a mouse when you're playing PC stuff on your couch and need to change stuff in windows
Gyro for when you're emulating stuff in CEMU
Good bumpers and triggers, the Xbone ones were worse than the 360's
This.
DS4!
lol
>dpad
DS4
>overal shape
Xbone
>stick placement
DS4
>triggers
Xbone
>support
DS4 also works on ps3 if wired and Xbone natively works on pc with the correct buttons on the controller so would say Xbone as it's more relevant
I own both tho and the Switch Pro so AMA
Steam Controller > DS4 > Xboner for things that use r-stick camera
Xboner > DS4 > Steam controller for Stick+buttons games like 3D Platformers
DS4 > Steam controller > Xboner for 2d platformers.
Steamcontroller > Xboner > DS4 for racing.
THIS PLEASE
Well sense everyone copying the Xbox design, I'd say it's pretty obvious
>AMA
what's it like being a massive faggot?
>steam controller
>ever
Dont mind me, just best controller comming trough
no u
care to share the salsa??
I will literally never in my life understand how people can think asymmetrical analog sticks are more comfortable than symmetrical ones. You've got your hands splayed out like a retard with your thumbs twisting at two different heights in different angles in different directions at the same time. How the FUCK is that even playable for extended periods of time, let alone comfortable?
gotcha covered senpai
What does the thickness matter when they're triggers? And they made the them feel way better than press down as opposed to the DS3 triggers. Still no idea what they were thinking with this crap, I'm trying both in my hands right now and it's ludicrous.
The Wii U Pro controller had it so right with symmetrical sticks above the buttons I'm still pissed they changed it on the Switch Pro REEEEE
Maybe if you're an old man who can't learn a new type of controller.
Once you get used to it the steam contoller shits over the others for a lot of things.
I hope this one feels great once I get it. The Wii U's pro controller looked odd but it was the most amazing thing to use. Battery life was godly.
Nintendo continuing to reinforce that xbox did it best.
DS4. XBox controllers are meh.
Xbone, no question
theres some fucking clever people on this board i tell ya hwat
the thickness mattered because you could press down the trigger fully using the edges of the DS3 triggers with the tips of your fingers, so you wouldn't have to wrap your entire finger round the damn thing to pull it.
It's dependant on the style of game, if your main input is stick and buttons then Xbone/Nintendo is better
If you're using both sticks, sony style.
>Xbox Elite
You mean that controller that cost 150 dollars? Lmao
not him but the meme controller is just a shitty middle ground that performs worse than both of the alternatives for the genres they're best for, even when configured
t. bought a steam controller when i was looking to replace my 360 pad, somehow ended up with an even worse """dpad"""
you can snark at the price but it is well worth the money senpai.
You're utterly retarded, learn to use the thing.
>having baby hands
It's really not, you'll get used to it like anything else. Considering the fact that you're a PS user I can see why the adjustment would be an issue for you. An xbox user could say the same about the PS controller. It's a matter of what you're already used to. Even people who are first time gamers, when I have friends over they never complain about the xbox controller.
I've broken three DS4 controllers. One the x button stopped working on a brand new controller. My xb1 controller just feels like a higher quality.
>tips of your fingers
What the actual fuck. Both my hands wrap neatly around both triggers without any fuss, do you have the hands of an asian girl?
I have long fingers, that fact that there's so much travel inwards on the triggers means that playing with the controller for long periods of time makes them cramp up.
>three extra buttons and touch pad
vs.
>PC games often have on screen prompts for Xbone's buttons and "it just werks"
Besides that, it's a matter of preference which one feels better for you.
t. have DS4 and Xbone Elite controller
MY RB on xbox 1 died pretty quickly not even a year. Now the controller is essentially useless for most games besides emulation.
Thanks microsoft
DS4 has so many dumb features.
The touchscreen comes into play in a few games but mostly is just a button in most.
Triggers are awful to use, sticks are just alright.
The light is the worst thing, because when I play games I'm looking down at the top of my controller.
If the controller batteries become less functional over time it's a whole new controller to buy.
So Xbone controller for me.
What games are you playing that you use the triggers so much? FPS?
If it's an FPS you're retarded for not using R1 and L1 instead of the triggers.
Post something readable faggot.
This one
okay
You have autism.
Nier, and that's pretty much the only game I have on PS4 aside from horizon.
Xbox, by a lot.
Bending your fingers to press the triggers with your tips aren't gonna help cramping, handlet.
You're just grasping at straws to come up with a bullshit argument.
DS4. Symmetrical sticks feel better. Xbone controller is too fat.
No u
Overall, the bone controller but PS4 one is fine. I definitely prefer the PS4 one over the PS3 dualshock. I really need to get that PS4 horipad and see how that feels.
I thought for the longest time that the Xbone had atleast a superior controller and this is coming from someone whose been exclusively using the playstation line as my main consoles
After getting my hands on one from walmart thats no longer the case
The bumpers are trash and so were the other buttons
Everytime I put force on them it felt like I was handling some cheap plastic from a dollar store
Both are awesome but I mainly use Xbone,so I feel the DS4 a bit weird for that exact reason.
Still,I love both.
DId you get the second wave cheaper variety? The first wave ones that came with the launch of the console are higher quality for whatever reason than the new ones they have out.
I hate Xbox, and I also own a PS4, but I have to admit, the Xbox contolers are so comfy.
I have very short fingers and even to me ds4 felt too small like I had to claw most of my fingers so that they would sit on the buttons resulting in what I wouldnt consider a comfortable setup for your fingers. For xbox controller I can just have my hands the and it works so I dont really know what people mean when they say that xbox controller is too big. Assymmetrical sticks also just make so much more sense for anything that isnt a 2d platformer. The backbuttons feel weird and dont have a clear seperation point and the material of the controller has some gay ass bumps making it feel like lizard skin. On top of all that it has gimmick gyro, inbuilt speakers, touchpad, audio slot, programmable led, select ("share button") and pause are on retarded positons and the last thing im not sure but I think that only wireless ones work on pc meaning the controller will always have the battery making it weight about as much as xbox360 wired.
Xbox 360
"""she""" a cute
360 would be perfect if it had proper dpad
I dont havr baby hands so the choice is obvious
>people are seriously debating each option when on their respective consoles instead as pc controllers
When did Sup Forums get this bad?
WiiU Pro is the best traditional controller.
Steam Controller is the best overall controller
>Mfw these threads are always started by debating which two of the shittier controllers ever made is the best controller ever made
This one.
Have they fixed the dpad?
kys
Don't bully!
I can't speak for the xbone controller but I've been playing 3-4 hours of vidya with a ds4 for a year and a half, the buttons and sticks are as springy as day one. I was so impressed with the build quality that I bought another one on Amazon Day just for steam.
cute af
DS4 a best
I'll bully you if you don't post more.
Kill yourself.
I just want to buy some buttons for my ds4 with xbone symbols, then it'd be the perfect pc controller
