What improvements/changes do you want on the inevitable Switch redesign?

What improvements/changes do you want on the inevitable Switch redesign?

newest version of tegra, that's about it, better build quality I guess

>inevitable

>What is the Gameboy, GBA, DS and 3DS

Well I really hope we get that SCD that was patented a couple days back

The Joy-cons feel like they were made for tiny Nippon hands. Playing something like Splatoon in handheld mode is just uncomfortable after a few matches.

I doubt they'll change the joy-cons

This
Also, any "pocket" redesigns without a clamshell design or a dedicated power switch just won't work. I don't know why anyone would want that.

This. Don't want a scratched screen from the dock, don't want a warped system.

>What is the Wii U, GameCube, and Wii

a clamshell switch would be kind of cool

Wii mini exists

How would that even work? You can't just implement dual screens. Best you could hope for is a built-in flip cover.

...

a clamshell design doesn't mean dual screen you fucking dumbo

gameboy SP as an example, controls on the bottom

Dead system
Mistake
Mini

And how would that work with the joycons?

the controls would be on the bottom...

not handhelds

That's not pocketable

So either the system doesn't have joycon support, which is a 0% chance, or they snap on like normal on the bottom while making the system, already large as a handheld, twice as big when unfolded.

I said it's be kind of cool, not that I think it'd happen, but yeah, it'd probably directly have HDMI out on it, since the controls are fixed to it

Just make the clamshell hinge back to act as a kickstand. The part that covers the attached joycons would also be able to hold games I guess.

Which is a shame because the joycons are retardedly bad controllers and the fact that using them is mandatory in handheld mode has been one of my biggest aversion to the Switch

stop being fat and many things in life will fit you better

I've gotten so used to caryying a satchel around I don't even care if it doesn't literally fit in my pants.

Cowboy up and carry a man-purse, you dweebs. At the very least a small backpack.

I have yet not bought a switch, but have been meaning too.

When I bought the DS, the DSI came about a month later.

When I bought the 3DS, the the new 3ds came about 6 months later.

How much time do I post-phone buying a switch? I really want to play Mario Odyssey...

I'd flip the switch on this one :^)

>Which is a shame because the joycons are retardedly bad controllers
Elaborate.

Gorilla glass touchscreen.

it's like holding snicker bars in your hands, it's pretty fucking self explanatory

>Switch, Vita, XL and other systems that supposedly don't fit fit in my pants comfortably because I don't wear clothes for women
>still carry them in my bag because it's easier
It makes me wonder why most of Sup Forums hasn't moved to the convenience of a bag

>it's pretty fucking self explanatory
You say that but you're not doing a good job of it.

>vertical screen

who the fuck made this concept

Obviously, a rounder, smaller and more portable Switch would be nice. If it were the size of a PS Vita, I would've already bought it ages ago. However, a smaller device will probably mean that Nintendo will have to drop, or at least highly modify the Joycon controller, so they'll probably wait for a while before dropping their latest gimmick.

Switch+ will have a bigger battery and an inch+ bigger screen. Where there's that large bezel area right now will be filled in with screen space

Remove screen and make it a home console with the power equal of ps4 pro or greater than

Perfect way to make a shit console.

you're one of those nintendo no do wrong guys and even worse werks for me guys

>Just change the CPU bro

A bigger screen? For what purpose? If you want a big screen, you can already play on your TV. You'll just kill the portability of the console.

Probably someone who doesn't remember the N-Gage

yeah, it's the SoC though, it'd either allow better performance or better battery so why not

kill your fuckin self retard, in the entire history of consoles nintendo has released the only ones they haven't done redesigns of are the NES, N64 and GC. it will happen.

personally i hope they make the screen cover glass instead of plastic and add competent bluetooth tech so I can use wireless headphones with it.

t. cuck

Why bother? If i wanted a PS4, i'd just play my PS4 or PC.
We don't need multiples of the same thing.

The switch is the most ergonomic handheld Nintendo has ever made

First year is probs safe

They wouldn't even be able to take advantage of it. If they did, the old version wouldn't be able to run new stuff.

>you're one of those nintendo no do wrong guys
Not really, you're just not really saying anything about the controller being bad.

A switch redesign wont happen for another year or two if it does at all so just buy it now.

PS4 pro tier thing or better battery life

>NES

>turn it into another walled garden box whose only purpose is to lock in exclusives and force people to buy the hardware if they want to play them

literally the only reason for the existence of multiple videogame consoles.

it's too small and the shape is like a snickers bar, it's not ergonomic at all, it's really fucking obvious

>Which is a shame because the joycons are retardedly bad controllers
>ergonomic design
>light yet durable
>asymmetrical sticks
>bad
Let me guess, you think the Dualshock is the pinnacle of controller design.

how could i forget that gay ass controller

>bing bing BUT SONY

>it's not ergonomic at all
What do you think ergonomic means in this context user.

you can hold in comfortably in your palm for however long you want to

is this moving on to the works for me manlet hands phase?

The lack of analog triggers, of a proper d-pad and how much they sacrificed in ergonomics for the sake of it being modular makes it an inferior controller in many ways.

I'm 6'2" and love the joycons

6'5 reporting in, no problems with the joycons for long periods.

I'm 6'7'' and I don't enjoy the joycons

>werks for me

it's incredibly obvious that you can have more ergonomic controllers this personal experience shit is useless, a snickers bar is not the optimal shape for a controller

>you can hold in comfortably in your palm for however long you want to
So the joycons are ergonomic then seeing as the shape and lightweight design allows for long gaming sessions without discomfort.

...

Your disability aside how does that change what I said if the problem is contained to you?

I'm 7'13", and they fit perfectly.

a fucking snickers bar is not the optimal shape for a controller even if it werks for you, it can be done way better

Get rid of the side bezels.
Or if that isn't physically possible, design new Joycons that overlap them.

in you ass that is

>post-phone

>even if it werks for you
As opposed to it not "werkin" for one guy?
What exactly is an optimal shape for you then?

like any other home console controller

how is this a difficult concept to grasp? it can be done better is all I'm saying, doesn't matter if a snickers bar is good enough to you

No Idea.
But an smartphone with joycon ready is an good Idea for emulation stuff.

>like any other home console controller
Such as?
>how is this a difficult concept to grasp?
You tell me, you're saying that one person experiencing discomfort makes a design objectively bad

>The lack of analog triggers, of a proper d-pad and how much they sacrificed in ergonomics
Analog triggers are situational at best, there are very few games that benefit from them if there are at all. With that said they're a negative in most cases due to travel time especially on console.
D-pad, one of the few negatives about it but a minor one.
>implying you know what ergonomics means

holy shit kill yourself now you are putting words in my mouth and using mental gymnastics ANY FUCKING CONTROLLER DS4 XBOX ONE CONTROLLER PRO CONTROLLER ANY FUCKING ACTUAL NON COMPROMISED DESIGN

it doesn't matter if a snickers bar is good enough to you, it can still be done better, it's that simple

pls no bully i'm just a dumb hueposter ;_;

Bing bing yahoo!

Any sort of improvement they could do would just be a newer tegra SoC, but even then that would run into compatibility problems. Other than that, a handheld/console only version would be interesting. Handheld-only model could be smaller with the joycons permanently attached (think screen size of an iphone 7). Console-only would basically look like the dock and would feature a larger internal memory + a pro controller. Both editions would run $200-250.

good post

Better cpu, remove the bezel, smaller and better dock that doesn't touch the screen and a dpad. I would buy it.

I...see.

>now you are putting words in my mouth
You're the only one who's had problems with them in this thread user and half of your "problems" don't even seem to be real problems with the controller's design itself and there's a few like the lack of the dpad and location of the capture button that you could have brought up instead.
I mean it's not like the Joycons are heavy, have you hold it in a strange way or have edges that dig into your hands so I'm failing to see where you are running into a problem and understanding is a big part of this user.

>DS4
The DS4, well, the entire DS range bar the first being the least ergonomic controller created especially because of the proximity of the analogs and the fact that they're symmetrical.
>XBOX ONE CONTROLLER PRO CONTROLLER
Now we're getting somewhere but the Xbox has the standard xbox poorly designed dpad
Switch Pro Controller is literally perfect
I kid the dpad is too sensitive and it's slightly too weighty for a controller.

>it can still be done better, it's that simple
You say that but you're not saying anything about the controller being bad you're just going
>IT IS BECAUSE I SAID SO

Not only do we currently have two consoles with revisions that do this very thing, Nintendo themselves created the N3DS, which even featured exclusive games. A hardware upgrade is not out of the question.

I'd want a Vita TV version because really I'm not taking that shit anywhere and the screen is useless beyond that

Nigger it's not even a year old. You won't get a new revision for a year and a half.

>You're the only one who's had problems with them in this thread user and half of your "problems" don't even seem to be real problems with the controller's design itself and there's a few like the lack of the dpad and location of the capture button that you could have brought up instead.

HOLY SHIT IT IS NOT ABOUT MY PROBLEMS IT IS ABOUT FUNDAMENTALLY IT BEING POSSIBLE TO HAVE MORE ERGONOMIC CONTROLLERS

rest of your post is that typical bing bing wahhoo shit

Not sure what that has to do with my reply nor the statement it was a reply to.

>detractors say it will need to be redesigned
>still selling like hotcakes

layout of joycons is sub optimal and cramped, the controllers themselves are too small, the flat back is sub optimal for the shape of your palm

>HOLY SHIT IT IS NOT ABOUT MY PROBLEMS IT IS ABOUT FUNDAMENTALLY IT BEING POSSIBLE TO HAVE MORE ERGONOMIC CONTROLLERS
Considering you think the Dualshock of all things is more ergonomic I doubt you have any worthwhile input but how exactly would you change it then?

Also this entire thing was about the problem you had with it.

>for the shape of your palm
You're not really supposed to hold it in your palm if you're playing with just the Joycons you're meant to have it more in your fingers to allow your thumb to go over the entire controller.

>you're meant to have it more in your fingers to allow your thumb to go over the entire controller.

a non plastic screen goddamn it

Yes?
You're not telling me that you actually hold it like an ordinary controller do you?

make it more like DS4

seriously though it's literally about it being possible to have better controllers than two snickers bars even if snickers bars are good enough to you, you're just making it into something else

bing bing to you

they should also improve the dpad, the one on the right joycon top is too small to be used reliably

no you are right but that's not ergonomic and it's hilarious that you think it's a good thing

>Carring a man purse like a sissy faggot
