I guess Pam can only get a bittersweet ending, she met up with Rukey, was accepted back by her sisters, probably withheld their attack, then continued travelling alone for her life

Secondary character and apex ice queen but I commend Tariq on his good tastes regardless. She's definitely the most physically attractive character in Pyre. And the scene where he says "Fuck the scribes, I want dat ass" is one of my favorites in the game.

Sandra can only interact with one of the Nightwings due to star magic. That's why Bertrude backs off when she can't get her to come out. That's also why she has abandonment issues.

They join Barker's Space Jam league and dominate it because they're the fucking Nightwings.

I think being unable to grow decent food, most of the water being poison, dying on the trip down, and it being impossible to make a settlement unless you're a Wyrm or Bog Crone is pretty shit. It's not so bad if you're a Crone or Wyrm, though. If you're human, you're fucked.

That's like several days where it's raining heavily non-stop over the entire downside.

Send all original 3 up, follow them at the end with Oralech not suiciding. Leave Bertrude, Gae and Ti'Zo in the downside.

Legit question: In what way specifically did the Scribes give up their freedom, and why was it necessary?

They did the whole finding Soliam and assembling as the Scribes while blasting the Titans thing. They wrote the book, they crafted the raiments, interpreted the stars and found the Shimmer-Pool, basically setting up all the rites....

And then what? What prevented them from leaving? Were they prevented from leaving? If they weren't, why didn't they leave? And if they didn't leave, why? And was it necessary for them to not leave for all of this to work even though they basically encountered the entire thing with the stars already working?

I don't get how they gave up their freedom so others may yet have theirs.

But triumvirates don't require Readers to function, and Readers have the ability to leave occasionally.

They made/discovered the rites, the first triumverates would have needed them

Through the Titan Stars. Once the Titan Stars went out, they replaced them so people could find the Shimmer-Pool through the Rites.

That still doesn't work, because even if they each became Reader for their own Triumvirate, that would leave one of them (likely the Nightwings) readerless, as there's 9 of them. And the Nightwings were supposed to be better and "shown undue favor" at all times.

The Titan Stars appear over the Olden Stars, not the Scribes' stars. You literally still select the Scribes' stars to go to the rites.

You only got to read because the stars died and the shimmer pool lost it's ability to differentiate between who it sent home, triumvirates don't NEED readers in the same way people don't NEED to drink anything besides water, it's true but water doesn't have vitamin c or caffine.

The Titan Stars black out the sky. That's their thing.

Except the phenomena of Reader's being allowed to leave is written in the book, by the scribes, the Harp scribe specifically, on page 159, "On Legacy". It's not a Deus Ex Machina one time bullshit only in this cycle thing.

Except the scribes made them disappear so they weren't blacking out the sky. And then because the sky was totally not blacked out and clearer than when the titans lived the scribes had to become stars to guide people? Seems odd.

Readers can leave as the annointed as long as they participate in the Rites.
