I have a much harder time getting into this than street fighter. It feels much less obvious to me when i can and cant attack.

that makes sense. SFV has been extremely simplified, which makes it easier for newcomers to understand everything. unfortunately, the game gets boring quickly, because of that simplicity. if you have some fighting games experience, you'll likely prefer a game with more depth than SFV

EU has a decent size PC GG scene. More so than the rest.

For USA it's because fighting games on consoles are much more popular, for Japan/Asia PC gaming doesn't even exist

In EU most players switched to PC version, including online tourneys organizers. That being said, all offline tournaments are still done on PS4 versions

if it makes you feel better, once you learn how to do air combos like that they become super easy. it's always rough at first, though.

some of the advanced combos are ridiculously hard and too tricky to ever use in a real match. they may include valuable tech, but aren't necessary

That combo isn't too hard, but I understand you're frustration with execution because I was bad too. Just keep practicing

Like with all fighting games, it's all about muscle memory. You can always try to practice just the part of the combo you're having issues with. It may not be much different than 'git gud' but you'll just have to grind out most stuff. I would offer you some advice, but I don't know much about Leo. If the issue is that the second jump isn't coming out at all you might be inputting it too early.

You don't need to learn how to do that kind of crazy shit right off the bat.

Once you've gotten your basic specials, supers and a BNB or two down, you should be focusing on fundamentals.

The trick for execution difficulty is visual cue sometimes

If you can do the combo up to the 2nd jump cancel, then do your part of the combo, wait for visual cue to hit that jump cancel. GG's combo has a few strict part that you have to be semoi-on point with input.

Try this, don't hit jump until you see the last hit of the move before the jump cancel connect. You should be hitting jump cancel during the hit lag of that move. Consiously look and focus on that visual cue and you'll land it
