When I think of Origins, an old adage comes to mind - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And oh boy, does Origins imitate the classics. So much so that it's hard to completely fault a handheld take on the formula when it tries to be as faithful as it is. Unfortunately, pretty much every one of its unique ideas, few as they are, end up more detrimental than anything. The revamped weapon system isn't the shittiest idea but being unable to hold as many weapons as you want makes it utterly pointless and guns, which don't break, ends up rendering it pointless anyways. There's also the world shifting, which can now be done at will at dedicated points. Again, neat idea but it strips away some of the creepy charm of the otherworld and how the town generally forced you to be there, but now you can just come and go as you please. At least it's used for puzzles, I guess. And the less said about the story, the better. Let's just pretend none of that exists and we can all be happier for it.

Silent Hill is a trilogy, I don't know why people give The Room and Homecoming credit, Sup Forums used to SHIT on them

True, but The Room's highs are really fucking high. It also commits some of the greatest design sins of any high profile game of its time so really you could go back and forth on them but there's definitely some brilliance to be found in The Room, namely through the room mechanic itself.

obviously 1-4 are the best and only true silent hills.

Literally the worst Silent Hill game out there, no question about it. Out of 1-3, Origins, Shattered Memories, Homecoming and Downpour, Homecoming is the only I didn't even bother finishing. What an absolute disgrace to the series and a cheap cash grab aimed at the American casual audience.
