I don't want to play a game where the only real competition are angry black people.
>angry
>waaa the black guy talked shit the whole match and called me a scrub after, where's my safe space :(
you're inferior to them and you know it deep down inside your peasant mind
GET THAT ASS BANNED
Post more psylocke or more 16 bit boobies
Because I have no local friends to git gud with
Seems like Psylocke really left an impression on the Japanese after the Versus series.
You'll still find random hentai of this iteration of her from Japanese artists to this day.
I'd say it's been since Children of the Atom.
I used to like fighting games, then SFV and MvCI happened.
I'm really good at fighting games
AMA
>Why do the Japanese like the half naked Japanese ninja
Really makes my Cerebro alfunction
I suck at them but I love playing against weak cpu's, pls no bully
>Button mashing
>Overly long combos that ultimately do fuck all compared to button mashing
>Some characters are far more powerful than others, making said others completely obsolete
>The A.I is always either autistic or smarter than a government supercomputer
>If you're new to the game and chose to play online, than you should always be prepared to be assblasted by absolutely everyone
>When ever you ask anyone for help on said game, they always reply with "Get gud LOLL" or some other stupid shit
I mean, there's always local multi-
>Local multiplayer doesn't fucking exist in any game ever anymore
Oh.
Can you explain what is so bad about Street Fighter 5 and Marvel vs Capcom Infinite (a game you haven't played) without using generic "it sucks" arguments. I'm legitimately curious.
What rank are you in SFV and prove it with screenshot?
...
It's obvious that you haven't played any fighting game ever if you think mashing is better than doing combos or playing footsies. These games are literally made for local multiplayer, like fucking what? It's a fighting game. You boot it up, controller one is on the left side and controller two is on the right???????????
>>Button mashing

Stopped reading there.
>>Overly long combos that ultimately do fuck all compared to button mashing
Stopped reading there lol
>>Local multiplayer doesn't fucking exist in any game ever anymore
I already made a post calling you out, but I just gotta call you out for this one again. The game is literally played locally in tournaments like EVO. They're called "Locals" for a fucking reason. Like, what the fuck?
...
you're thinking of NBA 2k.
fighting game competition is braindead mexishits and gooks.
all the best players i played against in arcade either were chink or had some chink in them.
for me personally, i think fighting games ruin themselves by trying to be balanced.
the most fun i've had in a fighting game is Marvel vs Capcom 2, Soul Cal 2 and MUGEN.
i wanna play fighters like MUGEN, where i just have a stupid huge moveset, with endless juggling and supers for days. (see: Master Lue)

They feel EXTREMELY restrictive. You're locked to a 2D plane on a cramped stage and there's no platforms to jump on or anything. And then you have the concept of hitstun, which is just gross. I'd much rather play an FPS where I can nadejump with freedom and if the enemy performs better than me, I simply die quick and painlessly-- no waiting around for pointlessly long combos or pointlessly long cutscene supers.
No lie, I think SFV is the hardest fighting game right now. Too much of how you win or lose depends on reads and optimization of frames, since everything is so simple. It's the kind of shit that training won't fix.
Honestly fighters need more single player content if they want to survive. Hell, not even just SP content but stuff that will keep you going back for reasons other than just fighting other people in some ranked or casual mode, that's just not enough for most consumers.
Psuedo RPG modes where you level up and fight CPUs are a step in the right direction, but I'm thinking more along the lines of weekly challenges like what SFV does. Get the community engaged somehow.
Release "Super boss" fights every few weeks where a powerful CPU appears online and everyone needs to band together and beat it a set number of matches for rewards like costumes or stages. Pool people together in regions or a "team" they need to select at the start for shit like this to create a sense of camaraderie. You could host weekly tournies with rewards based on local region, even create some online story mode that advances as you win matches with specific characters or against specific characters, let other people join a lobby to help you out in this mode, that kind of thing. I know character balancing takes priority, but there are a lot of things other games do that could keep games in the FGC that aren't big names from dying 2 months after release.
Everything. The dumbed down controls, the roster, the music, the atrocious art style, the backgrounds, the lack of proper game modes replaced by shitty MKX wannabe story ones and the shitty DLC practices. Everything is wrong.
All the characters I like are shit and the ones that aren't are too hard for me to play.
t.CP Amane and Ramlethal Player
the execution is too hard, I can't memorize and execute long strings of combos
but those "simple" fighting games like rising thunder also don't appeal to me at all
>admits he's worse than black people at high skill ceiling video games and always will be
The art isn't bad. Some of the characters look like complete shit, and hair in general looks like clay, but I think some of the characters look better than they ever has. It looks a million fuckin times better than 4 in terms of style.
Sup Forums actually thinks SFV is a good game so i'll let you come to a conclusion based on that. Next question.
What's wrong with the music?
Can you honest to fucking god do this RIGHT NOW? If you can record yourself doing something like this in a first person shooter, I will believe your argument and quit fighting games FOREVER.
I think people are forgetting how bad SF4 looked. Honestly despite all the memeing SF5 is the best SF characters have ever looked in 3D.
Sup Forums is also notoriously shit at fighting games.
>SF5 is the best SF characters have ever looked in 3D
There are some exceptions but I mostly agree with this.
I don't.
I play them for the story
I suck at fighting games but I still love them.
The only frustrating thing is when I lose a really good match and I'm about to send "Hey, good game!" but this fucking guy sends me a message first saying "Lol fuckin fgt scrub u suk at this game just kys already"
Like, c'mon man, I'm trying my best :(
Sup Forums is notoriously shit at games in general
tekken 7 is the best SF characters have ever looked in 3D
That IS me, silly!
>learn combos
>go online
>combos don't work
>The dumbed down controls
Nigga, it's still six buttons.
>better than 4
You say that like if that was an accomplishment or something. Anyway, I was talking about MvCI too, and that's inexcusable.
It's pretty me.
No, more people on Sup Forums hate SFV but because there are some that like it and it's not a complete one-sided hivemind you want to throw pout about it. Because you're retarded. SFV is not plagued with even a quarter of the issues that people think it is, they're just on a meme bandwagon.
i get too mad when i play them online
same with mpst multiplayer games but especially with fightan'
HRRR MAYBE THERE;S MORE TO FIGHTING THAT JUST KNOWING HOW OT THROW PUNCHES
Play Street fighter 5.
I am always open to new opinions, can you explain to me directly, objectively why Street Fighter 5 is bad? I enjoy the game and am curious what your opinion is. These reasons of yours can't be based on subjective feelings and also can not be based on "it was shit at launch!!!1"
After I quit the competitive scene in search of fun that didn't come at someone else's expense, I wrote off fighting games forever.
Sup Forums hates it because it requires effort and a strong ego
>Play Street fighter 5.
that's the one I'm trying to learn
you underestimate how much of a brainlet I am. it takes me like 50 tries to do some of the trickier trials. I still can barely do a Z motion on command. and I can't remember combos or capitalize on the right times to use different ones.
>No arcade mode
>discourages defensive play
>terrible balance
>terrible online
>microtransactions
There's plenty on reasons to dislike it. You're just upset.
see
This actually just explained it all to me, of COURSE beta shits that've never ever talked to a girl, much less thrown a punch, wouldn't be able to get into the genre
Tekken
Mostly boring dial ups, long and complex.
No spectacular shit since everything is just ball of flame engulfing fighter, sparks and flashes.
Absolutely retarded movement where players just fucking twitch all the time like couple of epileptic kids, I'd like my game to look nice and something as stupid looking as that not to be inherent part of the gameplay.
Street Fighter
It looks nice and arcade as fuck in good sense of the word but moveset is more limited than choices of a swedish woman when she is about to get raped.
Not even simple direction + attack button combinations in every direction for every button.
The attack button might have couple directions and thats it.
Dont mind its 2D in its mindset but damn, should have evolved a bit since 90's.
Mortal Kombat
Same, limited attacks as fuck, even more than SF.
The best is DoA since there are parries and counters, nice extensive moveset and not bad visuals, arenas have some enviro damage and danger zones, fun stuff happen if you juggle opponent against them.
Fucking DLC bullshit is disguising and characters are more meh than in any other fighter design wise.
There are also fighters that a bit different breed where you control attacks with analog sticks like Fight Night and UFC and from skill, strategic, tech standpoint those are the best but RL sport is not my thing, I wanna nice asses and good looking environment to look at.
Every good fighting game these days has offline latency settings for training and arcade mode.
Put that shit to 4 Frames and you're basically practicing online.
>Hurr why does it have lag in the first place
Every game does, that's how data transfer works.
It's just more noticable in fighting games because the genre requires the fastest reactions.
I need an entire different input device which I will need to get used to.
I need to learn all the combos of all different characters.
I then need to redo those two steps every 6 months because that is the rate at which these games die and/or switch platform.
I got blazblue for PS3 and played it for a while, enjoyed it a lot, then went and played DaS for a while, came back to Blazblue to find it stone cold dead. A quick Google search revealed very one had moved on to the next one.
fuck that shit, have no time for that sort of pissing about.
I only like Smash bros and Soul Caliber competitively.
Trying to get good at other fighters don't seem to have enough payoff for me.
Play Ed if you have the season pass. If not, keep practicing.
I have BBCPEX and BBCF on my PS4 twice each. (JP and EU copies)
I also have UNIST, Tekken 7 and GGXRDR2 for it and SFV for PC, as well as Third Strike on Fightcade.
That's not going into all the redundant fighters I have on PS3.
Oh, I also went to EVO this year.
I fucking love fighters.
The gamer does encourage defensive play. It really comes down to character choice.
>No arcade mode
Stupid but I'm way less bothered by it now than I was at launch. We've got trials, survival, and general story and I barely even fool with those cuz I'm always training or online.
>discourages defensive play
True, but there are options. Not many but a good bit of defensive tech has been found in the past few months.
>terrible balance
not even remotely true, especially in comparison to other fighters on the market right now barring Tekken which I hear has good balance
>terrible online
Not since the patches ages ago. Unless you're still getting matched with BR Kens
>microtransactions
Indefensible. But Capcom has my balls in a lock there, I've caved to their subscription model to play a game I enjoy because beyond it, the game is actually good and doesn't have any more problems than past SF games.
Fighting games aren't comfy. They're stressful as fuck.
I don't play vidya to get stressed.
>terrible balance
What? It's hard to make a clear top 5 characters in SFV.
Not the guy you asked, but i dont like sfv for the shortcut inputs, lackluster cast of characters, the face that i have to pay extra for 12 characters, and nothing provided for single players. It would be cool if there was like a gallery with concept art or something fun like the "break the car" mini game.
Sup Forums in a nutshell. Paying for a multiplayer game so they can play with them self.
This
TF2 is a great game but what settings are you playing on? Last time I played Titanfall 2 it actually looked good.
Quick v post your favorite fighting game ever! Heres mine
I don't want to play multiplayer all the time. It's nice to have the option, but sometimes playing with other forces of cancer gives me some cancer.
Niggas need a break sometimes. I simply just dont play sfv though. Vsav is fun and 3s is alright too. I wish more niggas played jojo, though. Shit is cash, but its garbage on fightcade.
It's more about paying full price for something so barebones. If they wanted to make a game where only online versus, training mode and lobbies were the focus, then don't charge $69.99 for it, and don't release it with a handful of characters.
Try smash bros
More moves doesn't make the game better. Why add a bunch of different moves for each button? Eventually, you'll get buttons that do the same thing, like Tekken. The move list is over a hundred moves but some moves are useless.
Mines
Balrog
Akuma
Ibuki
Cammy
Guile
EA lets you have settings?
Only Akuma and Cammy was in the top 8 at EVO though. And what about Urien?
Never got into them, the 1-frame timing and general logic of the game might be something i suck at as i've never played all that many 2d action games. So yeah kinda.
My main gripe is the from my view needlessly complicated combo inputs. I don't play games to memorize simon says style inputs and fidget with the controller. Ideally you almost mentally melt together with the inputs of an actiongame quickly so you can pay attention to what you are doing inside the game. If the things inside the game are challenging that's fun. If i play a racing game where you have to arbitrarily press several keyboard buttons in the correct sequence and timing everytime i want to steer left or honk, it isn't fun for me.
While i also suck at quake and it can be quite hard, i do not have this problem at all. Apart from some advanced techniques, even total noobs can totally enjoy the game with very little explanation and have fun. Almost everything feels very natural to do barring some movement techniques. (i'd even go as far as saying strafjumping feels quite natural once you understand the gist of it)
But that's the point. I can play quake and kinda suck, and it'll still be pretty fun. Fightan is just completely uninteresting if you don't spend a whole bunch of time learning and not having fun doing a characters moveset and can execute it on command, because just spamming will be more efficient
very good taste
Then why do both the Eventscrubs list and the nip collab tier list disagree with your picks?
Yeah, it's pretty customizable actually.
>4/5 of his picks
3/5 of his picks, and that list is just a collab between 3 guys. Other tier lists the world over vary wildly but the only thing that's really agreed on is that Balrog and Ibuki are top. And neither were in top 8 at Evo.
always hated the marvel games because of their overblown animations
Is SFV worth the 20 bucks?
>Balrog, Ibuki, Akuma, Cammy
>3/5
Tier lists generally aren't ranked within tiers
Time is pretty much the only factor. Working full time just doesn't allow enough time for practice to be good enough to fuck with the big leagues. Out of curiosity, how many pro fighting game players are there who are working full time and aren't sponsored by somebody?
>tfw finally won against a higher ranked player in USF2 today
My reasons for SFV being ass: Scarcity of midranged normals, universally slower walkspeeds, lack of characters that require execution to optimize (I like to grind stuff in training mode), high input lag and nearly unreactable forward dashes means I have to buffer whiffed normals and risk eating crush counters, high risk gameplay in general means I can get comebacked on regardless of how well I'm playing, v-triggers allowing for plus on block crush counter normals for pressure on block and huge and easy reward on hit, garbage defensive options where I have to spend my meter on an ex dp or v-reversal which can easily be baited and punished hard, character choice doesn't matter because this risk reward skews every gameplan and matchup towards reckless offense until somebody dies, huge stun buildup, damage, and corner carry on easy combos that are almost impossible to drop on the entire cast, etc.
That's the abridged version. I actually felt alienated by this game when I played it. People like me that like characters with strong defensive neutral and high execution aren't allowed anymore according to Capcom.
it's more like $70 considering the two season passes, and those don't even get you any stages
black dudes who play fighting games and online rpgs are generally chiller than hood niggers who don't even play games at all.
Also asian music gamers < white fps players < black fighting game weeaboos in terms of personality
no, there are plenty of other games that gets you more bang for buck
20 bucks is pushing it, but if you like fighters, it might be worth it.
20 bucks for the game and all DLC characters seems fair.
Sup Forums actually likes fighting games though? It's one of the few things Sup Forums actually likes
That and VNs
I don't like VNs. They're shitty books.
Highly underrated post 9/10 because of the typo
I don't hate fighting games though
I love them
I'm just terrible at them, mostly because my brain is slow and completely inefficient
Some of them are okay.
I used to be a JRPG fan but I became a fighting game fan after playing Blazblue CT back in 2009 and fighting games have become my thing. Mostly just Arcsys games though. I've always liked the anime style of melty blood and guilty gear way back in the day.
