An ancient evil awakens

>an ancient evil awakens

>good guys go corrupt

>DLC character that got killed off becomes the main antagonist in the sequel

>Only the chosen one can save the world

>party member joins the bad guys

>you aren't the chosen one

>an ancient good awakens

>you can be good or evil

>"If you kill the main villain, you're just as bad as him!"

Literally Dishonored

>vilain was a "good" guy all along
fucking fable 3

>The poor and downtrodden unite to overthrow the Evil Government

>A newborn good is put to sleep

>the ancient evil ends up being justified
>all the 'good guys' are just self serving dicks with giant egos

>Villain reveals that everything you did was part of his plan

>to prove you're the chosen one you got to pass a set of trials

>Chosen one jobs to the villain
>You have to replace him without his awesome powers
>Still beat the villain using your intelligence

I still listen to the Brigmore Witches menu OST. Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore Witches > Dish1 and 2

>big bad is a manifestation of the planet's will or whatever who wants to cleanse the world through fire because mankind is greedy or somesuch

But that's the best trope! I know a couple games that do this.

Not really.
You can kill all the bad guys and let the minions live and still get the good ending.

>protagonists (insert unimportant family member(s) here) dies. There deaths forgotten immediately after.

>female character is a non-virgin

>the chosen one is destined to be the chosen one and only goes on his quest because it's his destiny
>doesn't become the chosen one through the trials and tribulations he faces on his quest because he feels driven to, but because it was all foretold

But if he's the chosen one then he will clear those trials and tribulations just because of that. Wouldn't it be better if he wasn't chosen at all and was just some dude?

>main antagonist is a dictator who recognizes the flaws inherent in democracy and promises prosperity and happiness to his people on totalitarian conditions
>protagonist is a force for democracy and the individual's right to stand up to force greater than them and beats the egotistical antagonist with the power of friendship and community

>the villain is the game's tutorial while pretending to be good

...

>you're the savior of an alien species
>don't even interact with them and leave them behind without saying "goodbye"
