That my Steam copy doesn't fucking work

It's OK. I don't know what a Definitive Edition is. It didn't pose much challenge. It looked OK, but I don't think it was as nice as people say (lighting mostly). Worth a play I guess, but no massive praises.

i like that chinese violin or w/e

its good, movement feels fantastic

That it is a good game. If it came out a zillion years ago it would be a classic that all other games are compared against.
Just like Pong.

its a great game, this and Hollow Knight are fantastic "metroidvania"-lite

Great music, okay level design, great feeling to play it. Looks good.

If you like platformers it's a great purchase.

Looks like more generic indie trash that's not even worth pirating.

It also gives you two versions so 2,000 gamerscore

It quickly develops into Ori and the Forest made of Spikes.

disgusting

Great gameplay, nice artstyle, good story. Well worth a playthrough.

What difficulty should I play it on?

It looks and sounds great, but more importantly plays just as well. The story will either resonate with you or make you retch.

is it me, or Dash made this game too easy?

Just go with normal and change it if you're finding it too hard or easy

They manage to make the sequel even more beautiful youtube.com/watch?v=2kPSl2vyu2Y

Fun, really great visuals/music and excellent player movement once you unlock all the abilities. A little too short though.

But that'll affect muh cheevos.

This, also the Metroidvania elements are a bit weak but overall it's a damn solid game.

>playing this on a high resolution monitor
The water effects, holy fucking shit.

i want to fuck ori

I hate it. It's fantastic and has actual gameplay, but presents itself like some artsy fartsy indie trash like Braid or FEZ. They even have that shitty piano avant garde soundtrack, except there's literally good music at some points.

But the most unforgivable crime is that it's Microshit. Apparently they knew how to make games and just decided not to for the past 15 years. What the FUCK.

>frogs and spiders were enemies in the first game
>a bunch of people complained about the lack of bossfights
>trailer for the sequel has a giant frog and a huge spider

What did they mean by this?

Ori is bro who'll befriend spider and frog

I'm concerned. Ori's gameplay doesn't really lend itself to fighting bosses. The worst parts in the original game is when you're fighting anything up close because it's so hard to tell the trajectory of projectiles.

i read i wasnt made by a studio but it was a collaboration of people from all over the world.

interesting

>but presents itself like some artsy fartsy indie trash like Braid or FEZ.
If good music and pretty visuals make you think the game is trying too hard to be artsy, you haven't even begun to see how fucking pretentious indie games can be.

Ost is 10/10
game is too easy

I wouldn't be too worried, the combat will more than likely be very different (the amount of criticism it received and the lack of Sein should be evidence enough), and it's still entirely possible that there won't be any traditional bossfights

>Game is too easy
>He hasn't got the Immortal achievement

Explain?

They're a relatively new phenomenon to me, all I know is all my dumbass friends are always like "whoa dude goddamn you have to play this it's the most mindblowing shit ever!!!" and I still can't see how you made a game ten times worse than super mario bros in like 2010 despite stealing prince of persia's time rewind. Took me years to even try Ori, but I was hooked right away.

Sad thing is, I'm doing it again to hollow knight. I just don't want to play it.

>game is too easy
I wish

The game is surprisingly hard if you have any sort of restrictions on spamming the savestates. It feels more rewarding and I think that's why everyone loves the escape sequences.

>I'm doing it again to hollow knight. I just don't want to play it

If you enjoyed Ori, I can guarantee that you would enjoy Hollow Knight as well. Stop being a silly cunt and get around to playing it eventually.

It was made by a you-know-who

Also the game has death animations that were removed upon release

they were mood killers, good change.

i dont know you-kno-who

One of my favorite games of all time. Great Visuals, great music, and it feels like butter to play.
hope the sequel can fix some of the few problems of the original

Ori is cute, CUTE!

Friendly reminder that Ori is for cute and cuddles
Not for sexual

Bugs me that it's a guy. It's just cashing in on pop culture, historically forest spirits are almost always female. It would help lend it that special kind of mythical legitimate.

Ori has no stated gender
The Xbox marketplace says "he", but that wasn't written by the devs

This is correct

Ori's gender is never referred to ingame and according to the devs is up to the player which I think is kind of silly since he's clearly a character, not a complete blank slate

I suspect that it was made with purchased Unity Store assets. Can't prove it though

Runs like shit on my computer and I can barely play it

I'll never play Ori 2 because I wasted all my money on a Switch

Favorite game this gen and it is unbelievably cute
Also has the best soundtrack of the gen, still annoyed that Undertale and MGSV got all the praise in 2015

Aside from kid icarus, super mystery dungeon, fire emblem fates etc.

Nah

What makes you say that?

>Guy sits by a piano on stage
>Oh no what is this bullshit
>Ori 2
>YESSSSSSSSS

Highlight of E3

funny ho it's not the big franchise titles makes you excited but these precious games out of nowhere.

Great metroidvania game.

The only part in the entire game where I was confused was the final escape where you have to float with the feather. The rising air effects just melded to the background.

What the fuck was actually difficult about Ori to anyone even slightly familiar with the genre?

>when you saw Gareth Coker on screen

>read the name
>that sounds familiar, where do I know that name from
>mfw I remembered

You mean that orb that allowed you to break levels

Game is sorta hard when you don't know you can hold Y

I really wish the definitive edition abilities weren't optional and that they had changed areas to properly incorporate them, as is they mostly just serve to make the game easier
