I've been trying to mod this game for like 3 fucking hours and I just cannot do it, crashing on startup every single time no matter what I do. Oblivion and skyrim worked fine with minimal effort but this is driving my head up the wall, anyone have experience missing this piece of shit

cool blog post bro

Dude, just get the Mgo ready to install package. It's all what you need for visual, audio and game play. You can add some other mods later, but start with MGO
>Morrowind Graphics Overhaul

Will check it out, the absolute worst thing about it is that it's only a few mods and no matter how slow or deliberate I am with installing them the game hates me
I got most of the mods I'm using off a pcgamer list of the best morrowind mods released like a month ago and I don't think those motherfuckers thought about compatibility

Try the mods at this link instead

Follow this MINUS combat mod & Tamriel Rebuilt for a first time:

Guaranteed to work like a charm if you follow the steps.

crashing on startup means an .esp is missing a dependency , for example if you install a patch for a mod without installing said mod the game will crash on startup, all bethesda games are like this

This is super in depth and exactly what I was looking for user, thank you so much.

I'm also gonna check out this video because this turbonerd looks like he knows what he's talking about. Thanks user.

I figured it was this, multiple mods came with compatibility stuff for other mods that I've never even heard of, thanks.

I meant to thank you very much in that last post, friend

MGSO is alright but it's outdated by like 5 years, if you use it then you can't use much better mods that have come out since then like Morrowind Acoustic Overhaul or Morrowind Rebirth

no problem friendo

Hey what GPU are you running dude?

should I get MGO or OpenMW? this user says that it's outdated, what do I do?

I have a 970, my man

MGSO and OpenMW are completely different, MGSO is a megapack of graphics and sound mods while OpenMW is an engine reimplementation. OpenMW isn't finished and won't be for a while, if you're looking to seriously play and mod Morrowind, vanilla is still your best bet.

MGSO still works fine if you don't want to spend hours modding the game yourself, it's the safer option especially if you don't know what you're doing when it comes to modding.

alright, just wondering. i used to be able to run morrowind overhaul and tamriel rebuilt just fine when i had an AMD R9 280v, but ever since i got my gtx 1070 i have had a much more difficult time of it.

you are probably misremembering it, heavily modded Morrowind has always and will always run like complete shit no matter how good your PC is because the engine is from 2002 and can't take advantage of modern hardware, this is why OpenMW is being made

Not that Morrowind ever rly ran that great to begin with, but believe it or not I had it running pretty good. I don't seem to be able to reproduce the same trick, however.

morag tong dude run or unarmored monk-healer

Well, that and multiplayer.

Install Morroblivion instead.
The same experience of Morrowind but with actually decent textures, models, animations, and mods.

>decent models
lol

>Implying Morrowind's Mii character models is any better
I too enjoy watching people who's limbs aren't even connected walking around like they just shat their pants.

>tries to move the goalposts
you never said better, you said "decent"

No, if you calmed your autism for one second I claimed that Oblivion has better character models, which is objectively true, when Oblivion models actually have limbs attached to their body.

>The same experience of Morrowind but with actually decent textures, models, animations, and mod

>decent

Typical Morroblivion supporter, too stupid to even remember what they just said.

>Morroblivion / Skywind
>same experience as Morrowind
It's abundantly clear when you say things like this that you've never really played Morrowind.

Nothing about that is false Morroautist.
>This is the same retard defending glorified Mii characters with shitty texturing and UV maps

Uh, Morrrowind unironically has better character and face models than does vanilla Oblivion familam.

It's the same god damn game except in the Oblivion engine you fucking shitter.

Get good

Except it's literally not the exact same game. For example, neither captures the dialog system in Morrowind (nor can they). Neither has the same skill or armor system. Neither has the same alchemy or magic system. Both include things like schedules into NPCs. Both ruin the map and quest system. And this are just the easy obvious things wrong.

Nice mods, bud. We're talking about vanilla.

How about all the ones you have to stare at constantly?

>Morroblivion fag still shilling his outdated and unloved bastard facsimile

Plus no OpenMW.

...

MGSO with its unofficial patches cus a bunch of shit in it is broken.

Speaking of which

Lol no
Last time posted my loli character i got banned for a week

Just started my annual replay of Morrowind, I'm enjoying exploring all the coastal towns from Tamriel Rebuilt, plus I have Stirk, Karthwasten, and the Lyithdonea to look forward to.
Does anyone know a good house mod that you can furnish yourself? Dave Humphrey's Furniture Store is the only one I know of, and the last time I installed it a couple of years ago, purchasing a lot of the items would cause a CTD.
