I see this game on here a lot, and I recently saw AngryJoe review it aswell as other reviews and it got high ratings. The problem is its not on PC ( cant torrent ) and it's still $60 on ps4. I never played any other yakuza games and I'm not sure wether I'll like it so I dont want to shell out $60 on it. When do you think the price will drop.
How is this game?
Other urls found in this thread:
It's worth 60. It's also the best yakuza game and a good starting point.
don't listen to those neckbeard neogaf weaboo cvcks
the game's trash, and so is the entire series
Why must you sully your axis allies.
We just had sales in NA and EU on PS Store.
WILL I BE YOUR GIRL TONIGHT
WILL I EVER BE YOUR LADY
they got the US into the war and they also tried to eradicate all whites from the Pacific
By how you write, I'm guessing your education was trash too
The entire reason the Nazi's allied with Japan was because they expected the USA to jump in and they wanted an ally in the Pacific who could survive at least two years against the USA. Pretty funny how the Japs ended up being the final survivors instead and also lasted for half a decade.
I fucking hate these ill informed WW2 era posts. As if tha japs randumbly attacked the USA out of nowhere. It was either that or their empire crumbles from within because they didn't have neough natural resources to keep their empire afloat. They had to seize the other asian nations so they sucker punched the USA to give themselves a little bit of time to kill off some jungle gooks and take their shit.
BREAKIN' THE LAW
BREAKIN' THE WORLD

Buy Kiwami in a few weeks, it is half the price.
But you are basically getting the comfiest gameworld in existence with zany fistfighting and legit Japanese soap opera shit. It's fucking fantastic.
The series is legit as fuck.
neogaf hates Yakuza because there are no niggers or traps or muslims and a complete lack of immigration they hate it they cannot stand it
How is the story? Is it actually interesting?
except their preemptive strike didn't work and all it did was piss the USA off and unify them way more than if they had just invaded the phillipines
>tfw walking down the alley to the ramen shop
this game is so fucking comfy i cant wait for 6 despite how bad it may be
the demo was super comfy i loved it
I said it before and I'll say it again. This is probably the one of the few game in existence that I find paying a full price for is worth it.
The content it self is not half assed and there is a lot of shit to do in this game. Nothing is locked behind a paywall too which is great. If you want to you can wait, maybe it will go on sales the next year but frankly speaking this is one game worth giving the full price for because it pretty much gives you for what it's worth.
its pretty good
im surprised that the yokoyama went from RUBBER BULLET and 'im the final boss that comes out of no where' to 0's story
even ishin was pretty good story wise from what i hear. mine was supposedly good in ishin too.
neogaf loves Yakuza faggot. There is hype thread about it right now.
And Yakuza does have traps, niggers and immigrants in it. you would know if you actually played it you poser piece of shit
I bought it for 30 bucks on a sale and Im having a blast with it, I am the king of the karaoke
>tfw no ps4
are they going to localized english substitles for the ps3 version?
>neogaf weaboo cvcks
oxymoron
No.
>neogaf playing a game where you literally only talk to women in order to watch jav material of them
I've seen more hate for Yakuza on Sup Forums then i have on neogaf
Neogaf seems to have a lot of self contained communities, there's a thread for DOAX3 active right now.
>steve meme
topjej
no neogaf hates cultural unity and Japan's complete lack of interracial breeding zones they rally against this series and its racism every day
steve is the best

>60$ on ps4
bought it yesterday for 30£ which translates around 35$
I havent gotten far, but I like it so far. I had also played other yakuza games on ps3 though
ok im done this is a yakuza thread not a steve thread
side note, when is there going to be a new mre thread on wsg? i havent seen one there in months
i want to make some rc gusto pics but i have nowhere to post them
I've never even seen an MRE thread. I don't even know where I found out about based Steve.
ive seen him being posted in a few threads on random boards
its pretty weird he has no connection to anything here except /k/
i saw him in an asmr thread and that was sort of relevant
My best advice to you is to pace yourself as you like. If you are into collecting things and trophy hunting, try to do it before chapter 6. Because that's when the game really starts going forward. You can also do things freely post game, but the desire to hang around won't be that great.
It's a really fantastic game. I recently played it, and finished it at 22 hours.
But I didn't do any of the side stuff, really. If a side story dropped in my lap, I'd do it, but for the most part, I just did the main story.
I know a lot of the hype around the game is around all the mini-games and side story, but I found the main story so intriguing that I couldn't pull myself away from it.
When I first started, I was doing 2 chapters a day, but at the end, I was doing 4-5 a day because it was so good.
Btw, Kuze is the villain of the year
So..... i buyed a japanese soap opera filled with mini games (fishing, dancing, bowling ect) for 30 Euros.
That's a good price for what you're getting tbqh.
The gameplay (combat, different styles) is great, the minigames are fun and refreshing (could be even great on their own) and the drama is one of the best stories I've ever seen in a video game (not that I play many games for their stories).
>Btw, Kuze is the villain of the year
pic
Awano's mocap guy also looks identical to Awano.
It's amazing how good they look
...
...
I really wanna get their autographs, but Ozawa looks serious as fuck, to the point where he intimidates the shit outta me.
That's just unreal man
I just want them to stop milking and rehashing this series so they can start working on more interesting games like Binary Domain again.
I love that engine.
And the new Dragon Engine seems really nice too.
thanks. Ill do that. btw are there slot machines to play? Those ball DX games were too obscure for me in previous yakuza games.
100% wrong.
...
no it is literally against the neogaf TOS to enjoy another culture because it automatically and always excludes niggers since they have no culture and neogaf enforces nigger culture at banpoint
First Yakuza I played, like it so much I even pre-order Kiwami
>Using the Nick picture for Keiji but not using the picture of Gamou for Shingo.
Hang on a minute here.
>Google this game
>open world
BINNED.COM
dont know if you're trolling but
its a very good, compact kind of open world. you run in to a ton of shit, silly sidequests, and strangely good and in-depth mini games. its absolutely worth a play.
just because open world is a meme, doesn't mean its always bad.
>i cant wait for 6
user, it's a story-driven game, with a horrible story, and broken combat.
it's not, it's got a big hub
>Yakuza
>Open world
I want the open world meme to die, this is sandbox you mouthbreathing retard.
It's about as open-world as Disneyland. One of the main themes is how one of the characters is trapped to an existence in a single city.
Nah its always bad. Like all the time. Walking to your missions in GTA3 was dumb as fuck and it's dumb now.
>B-but MY Ubishit checklist is GOOD
Well good job this isn't anything like GTA then.
Is it anything like Shenmue? I get that vibe.
>Walking to your missions in GTA3 was dumb as fuck and it's dumb now.
The main selling point of GTA3 was the technology that surrounded it. Just being able to explore a city in a console game was ground breaking. As an actual game by 2017 standards? It wouldn't even rate a 5.
Yakuza was heavily inspired by Shenmue, except it's actually fun. You do things other than buy/touch lightbulbs and look at stray kittens in a cardboard box.
>AngryJoe
Kill yourself.
Big time, but way better pacing, control, general gameplay, graphics, personality, sidequests, story and presentation.
GTA3 is a classic in the genre. I replayed it for the first time in over ten years about 6 months ago. Got the platinum. The game has aged way better than Vice City or San Andreas and the only issue is the lameness of the autoaim system, but it's simple and arcade and it still works. San Andreas is a fucking horrendous game by today's standards and can only stack up with nostalgia. But GTA3 is a wonderfully crafted game with an interesting atmosphere and location.
It's a bit quantity > quality, but a lot of the mini-games are genuinely fun. The story itself is quite good and there are lots of memorable characters.
The best thing about the game is the design of the cities which really gives the feeling of what 80s Tokyo/Osaka were like, with flashing lights and new money types walking around wasting their recently acquired cash. Also if you have any interest in Japanese gangster movies then it'd definitely be worth it.
This does wear thin toward the end though and you're left with a lot of repetitive sidequests which tend to be: talk to someone, talk to another person and get an item, beat up a gang of goons, return to first person to finish quest. There's also an awful lot of recycled corny music and bad humor.
The combat gameplay is fit for purpose but nothing amazing. Spammy and mindless at times.
Some of the minigames are actually quite deep and addictive, and thre are loads of them, so even someone who wasn't quite taken with the game would probably end up spending 50+ hours on the game. It's worth the money in this way, at the very least.
NO TIME TO RUUUSE
SO I FIND MAH PAAATH
Storywise San Andreas is still strong, the problem is Rockstar is so greedy that they did a remaster for phones, then ported that version to PS3 without improving anything.
so the game is secretly mario party or fusion frenzy?
>finished it at 22 hours
Jesus. I'm at 90 and I am still yet to complete the story. Feels like I'm near the end but still.
Then again, I did muck about with minigames, did every substory I could find and completed the business shit on both protags.
i got yakuza 4 and 5 on ps+ (was waiting for a sale for 5) and bought 0 at full price as a result of liking the series
Yeah man I didn't do ANY of the business stuff. The tutorial made it sound so boring that I just didn't want to do any of it. Plus, money doesn't seem like a problem in Y0. I managed with the small amount I was getting from fighting and at the end of the chapter.
I looked at howlongtobeat.com and I'm under the average by about 8 hours. I just didn't connect with any of the side content. Bowling/Darts/Dancing/Karaoke just does nothing for me.
Yeah, I'm not condemning you or anything, I'm just surprised with myself more than anything. I have no intention of 100%'ing the game, I just wanted to see as much of it as I could. Finally almost done with it, though.
>The tutorial made it sound so boring
Kiryu's is pretty boring, honestly. You just wait around, and sure you can do minigames while you wait but by the last Billionaire I mostly just let the game running and browsed on my phone. Majima's though I really liked, only real complaint I have is that the rival battles get super fucking cheesy towards the end.
I usually dislike shallow minigames but I have no idea what it is about Yakuza's that drew me in.
have you done the challenges yet? some of the timed ones are pretty hard
You played it in the way I should have. I hunted trophies and tried to do everything possible. Between Mahjong and baseball, I just didn't have the patience to continue with post game content.
I did the same with Horizon.
Once I finished the maingame, I had zero interest in going back and finishing the side content
>Trying to 100% Y0
>FInished every bit of content except Majima's cabaret club business
Holy shit this is dull. They gave Kiryu all the fun shit, so you could do your phone game business and go do cool pocket circuit shit
Im only at chapter 5 and while i am enjoying it I had very high hopes after a lot of people were prasing it as a potential goty and it is not that good.
Pretty good story and a lot of side stuff to do but the main gameplay is a bit repetitive.
