Its not even about that I was in a similar situation where I thought that Persona 5 was goty, no contest, then I played nier.

Persona 4 Golden by a mile. Persona 5's cast are at each others throats the entire time. Yosuke (P4) should have lashed out at the group, in the same way Ryuji goes after Makoto.

Anime/cartoon-style graphics don't age as horribly as realistic-style graphics

It's not that bad as it's mostly cut outs of them talking like in P5.

why? The characters past my boy yusuke are bland as hell and break the alchemy, the pacing is horrible, the story too, the silent protagonist doesn't make sense in the context of thestory, the only good thing it has is the combat, which is great and satisfyng as hell but only in the palace, the Memento is fucking easy.

Dude, P3 FES and P4 look fine, especially if you emulate them and just bump the resolution to 3x. Persona 3,4, and 5 don't look good because of their technical prowess, they look good because of their art-style and art direction.

Don't use the MSAA hardware hack with PCSX2 or the FXAA, it's way better looking and less of a resource hog to just set the internal resolution to 3x or 4x.

There's a very limited number of reason one can enjoy Persona.

A new Katamari Damacy would be the answer, but
