Been thinking of getting a vita to kill some downtime while travelling.

The first one that has the OLED screen

If you like weeb shit like JRPGs, Senran Kagura, etc, this is a console for you. If you don't, you can try the typical games like Gravity Rush, Uncharted, Teraway.

OLED model every time

Vita Holy Trinity: Soul Sacrifice Delta, Gravity Rush, P4G

You can also play digital PSP and PS1 games on this.

vita has no games. if you buy one, you're buying it for PSP and PS1 games.

Any stories of PSN account being banned for using a hacked vita??

>v....Vita is dead t...trust me!

Nah gotta get the true Vita Trinity: P4G, Cold Steel, Danganronpa.

Also shoutout to Ys.

Vita isn't just dead, it's stillborn.

it's useless until they figure out how to make activations work again. latefags can't pirate PSX or PSP games.

Oreshika Tainted Bloodlines, is an intresting rpg on it
Any Vanillaware game is good, Odin sphere leifthrasir, Dragon's Crown, Muramasa rebirth have some exclusive dlc that is very good.

>Oreshika Tainted Bloodlines, is an intresting rpg on it
this, one of the few good games on the platform

I would have liked a physical release in the west though.

The demo was what convinced me to buy the game.
It was fucking bullshit that I had to install both the demo and the final game simultaneously to transfer my save. It's as if Sony wants me to hate the platform.

I feel like im the only person on the planet who likes the newer vita better than the OLED one.

Ive seen both comparatively and it was a better screen sure but at the cost of it being t h i c c as fuck.

As for games yeah what everyone else has said plus Freedom Wars if nobody else has mentioned it

The OG Vita was bulkier than the PSP 1000. I haven't seen a handheld this heavy since the Game Gear.

>What games would you recommend

MGS 2 & 3 HD Collection

FF X

Binding of Isaac R

Cold Steel 1

YS - MoC

Dragon's Crown

Muramasa R

Odin Sphere

Ouch i did'nt know that, i bought it while it was on a sale and i read good reviews.

well theres pro's and con's on getting either.

Vita save files are tied to game installs. You can't delete a game while keeping the save on your console. The only thing you can do short of backing up the entire game to your PC is to pay for PS+ so you can back up your saves online. All part of Sony's efforts to make using your Vita as painful as possible.

I have no regrets hacking my Vita and buying an sd2vita. And I'm still glad I bought Oreshika when I did, I think it was something like £8 on sale which was a complete bargain considering just how great an experience it was.

>What model would you recommend?
1000 if you want more quality when it comes to display, 2000 if you want more battery life, battery life is excellent in both case but since the 2000 doesn't have a OLED to feed it lasts much longer, which is nice.
>Would be interested in hacking it as well
Google HENKAKU, keep in mind that you won't be able to play any game past 3.60.
>What games would you recommend
I recommend to learn japanese first of all since localizations are shit especially for Vita games and many games weren't localized.

Yeah i know vita games save files are tied to game installs, how long can you get in the demo btw was it 1-2 hours or more?

Piracy hurting honest consumers is sadly nothing new.

It's all the way until the first story boss IIRC, so there's two or three dungeons and enough time to get used to the mechanics. It's pretty generous in terms of content, IIRC the demo was a few GB in size too.

Grand Kingdoms
Shiren the wanderer
Killzone Mercenary

any models have antiglare screen?

oreshika, hotline miami 1 and 2, darkest dungeon, guacamelee and severed are all neat games if you haven't played them on pc yet

This guy has good taste.

Oh yeah and there's some who like TxK

is there a time limit on it?

I don't remember there being one.

If you ever liked any Tempest game, TxK is for you.

>If you ever liked any Tempest game, TxK is for you.

I havent actually played it i just heard about it because its a vita exclusive simply because the person who made it would get sued if he released it on any other system by atari.

I got a slim for the longer battery life.
Games I've enjoyed: Vanillaware games, Persona 4 Golden, Terraria, Toukiden 2, Hotline Miami 1+2, Metal Slug 3, Castlevania: SotN, X4, X5, Mega Man Legends, Crypt of the NecroDancer, Nuclear Throne

Wait, what's an activation? You mean you can only piratefag for Vita originals?

It means a Vita is authorized to play digital games for a given PSN account. You can no longer gain that authorization on the hackable firmware, and you cannot play PSP or PS1 games without it.
If you already have a Vita and any digital game, you are activated and thus can pirate PSP/PS1 games.

Okay. So you don't have to be online, right? It just checks if the machine was ever registered to a PSN account? i.e. Sony can't find a way to fuck you if you don't actively login, it just needs to be a machine that logged in once upon a time.

That's cool

i'm pretty sure i can play PS1 and PSP games when using flight mode, but mine is'nt hacked.

It's not about being registered to a PSN account. If you have ever used any digital content from that account, it's fine. But just having logged in isn't enough.
