>Devs add microtransactions >"WAHHHH fucking Shillhole. Adding optional, cosmetic-only microtransactions as a way for fans of their game to support the development process. Fucking shills, literally dropped wahhhhhh"
PUBG already said they were gonna add microtransactions in the game, why are people surprised when they do it?
Nathan Gonzalez
>they didn't support the development process by just buying the fucking game
Jacob Butler
Made 180$ today because they added microtransactions and enabled the steam market. Thanks PU.
John Ross
dunno man, a game where all you do is run around and kill each other, surely doesn't need much in the way of "development"
Josiah Lopez
Nobody cares
Ayden Robinson
you didnt make any money off this game and steam market was already enabled
Jose Roberts
They did. Then the community sky rocketed and a lot of players racked up thousands of hours. There's nothing wrong with giving those players the option to make further contributions.
There's also no excuse to post negative reviews on Steam just for it.
How did I not make any money? I made my money back 5 times and had some fun.
Dylan Ramirez
>nerds crying because it's optional to pay to put to clothes that literally add no bonus or advantage to the game other than playing dress up
I wish I could get upset over minor things.
Kayden Roberts
Well it's poorly optimized. Also there's a lot of room for new features and content.
David Nguyen
>supporting the game I already paid $30 for a fucking Early Access game, is that not enough, filthy kikes?
Nathan Johnson
>game becomes a huge cash cow >dosent put microtransactions in
Carter Carter
H-h-how much of a meme is this?
I really want to get it but have been waiting for the sale. Can anyone get their moneys worth just from selling cosmetics or have I left it too later?
Jacob Miller
Yes it is enough. Nobody's putting a gun to your head to buy fucking clothes, idiot.
Elijah Smith
Because some people don't want to have content sectioned off behind multiple paywalls in a shitty, half-baked indie game they already paid $30 for. Worse yet they don't want to deal with crate bots/afkers when trading is involved.
Owen Parker
>WAHHH >wahhhhh
>nerds
How come only the "people" defending this game speak use Tumblr-speak?
Ayden Robinson
>writing like that
kill yourself you utter retard, I wish for your whole family to drown in pig shit
Isaiah Davis
>Sectioned off content >A striped shirt and gloves
It's not that much of a meme, but don't buy a game with the intention of making back $$$. You might get lucky. You might not.
Chase Smith
I've seen people state that the cosmetic items are p2w because they'll be better at camouflaging.
If someone thinks a tracksuit, a kill bill yellow getup, and a pink fucking suit and skirt are camouflaging (much less more so than the common/uncommon items available for free), they need to get their fucking head checked by a doctor.
Brayden Gonzalez
Nigga it's clothes. You can literally kill someone wearing them and take their shit for yourself and you will get the same experience which amounts to you getting shot and someone taking your shit.
Daniel Collins
>know (v( doesn't like X >keep posting X >feel like a badass troller
you did it OP, I'm so angry reee, so mad right now omg literally shaking
Nolan Harris
He would have to be a god damn retard not to put micro transactions in the game.
I personally don't like it tough
Jonathan Hill
>Dev's said they will not ad microtransactions in early access >They add them anyway Dev's went back on their word. I dunno why people cant get this
Nolan Campbell
I love this picture, especially the first one. The guy wrote a negative review and his first bullet point is absolute speculation.
laffin about it
Henry Thomas
>Dev's went back on their word. I dunno why people cant get this
Because they offer no advantages in the game. It's just a case of people wanting them but not wanting to buy them.
Christian Moore
stupid children can spend their money on whatever they want. That doesn' make them any less stupid though.
Luke Anderson
Only kids are. Think about where we are.
Mason Diaz
Its not just them. The majority of reviews on the steam page are negative. The most helpful tap is also full of negative. >STEAM REVIEWS MEAN NOTHING GTA5 would like a word with you.
Kayden Myers
It's not even that. The whole scandal was Current system >Crates you can earn for free System that was suggested >No free crates only pay to open crates
Why was this bad? Because there's a fucking paywall into the game. The game needs to have some sort of free crate rotation going on. If they want people to buy cosmetics to support the game then why not do it to where you can straight up buy cosmetic sets and not these goddamn RNG crates. Literally full retard. Overwatch, HotS, Dota 2, TF2, etc all understand that you can keep people playing by giving out free crates. Keep the good stuff locked up but still allow some stuff to trickle down. People need rewards.
In other news, game is fucking unplayable thanks to the new patch introducing lag
Luis Rivera
>say you will not do X >later on you do X >WHY DO PEOPLE HATE MY GAME REEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Daniel Miller
By all means defend early access games adding in more ways to make money out of their customers. Don't forget to buy the season pass as well you rat jew
Jeremiah Thomas
the devs already said they're gonna jew you with crates.
Why would anyone buy the game if they hate microtransactions? Not like the devs lied, they explicitly warned people that they were gonna do it sooner or later.
Alexander Watson
>Why are all these devs forcing me to buy crates reeeeeee
They're not, faggot.
Ryder Hernandez
>GTA5 would like a word with you.
GTAV was still a top seller and in top played during the modding shitstorm. The top negative reviews were still playing the game after they posted their reviews.
Matthew Richardson
I think the developer said multiple times they would be doing this for a special event.
>crossing the street >A car is come >announce to the whole world that a car is about to hit you >you make no effort to get out the way >get hit >"Why did the car hit me?"
this is you faggot.
Brody Flores
>paywall
You can still play the game. Nothing was taken away. There aren't lobbies demanding you own a certain shirt to participate.
Jonathan Powell
>a way for fans of their game to support the development process Like literally paying for the game in order to play it in the first place?
Oliver Young
Hopefully some gambling scandal will fuck them over like it did with CSGO :^)
Ian Walker
>cosmetics only
The reason people are starting to take offense to this is because many other companies have performed this tactic in the past. They'll start off with zero microtransactions, then release "comestic only" microtransactions, and once that becomes successful, they'll eventually make the game pay2win garbage with microtansactions that offer gameplay advantages.
I've seen it happen time and again and if you can't see the slippery slope starting to slowly develop here, you're the real child without any kind of real introspection. That, or a cock mongling corporate whore.
Brayden Taylor
Don't pretend this wasn't done to take advantage of people with poor self control. This crate gambling shit is a tried and true way of making money out of completionists who just want to own every cosmetic
Gabriel Reyes
Name of the new game is streamer cosmetic farming. You're welcome.
Aaron Roberts
Where is the face I was promised?
Nolan Gutierrez
That's not even a proper analogy to what happened >announce to world "no cars will come on this road until it is completed" >road is still unpaved >"we are now opening the road to cars" Literally fucking why-tier. First person got the same treatment so I guess we can't trust anything the devs say >hurhur not until release >its coming out this next monthly because fuck server and client optimization >meanwhile in the dev blog which says that monthly will focus mostly on those two topics
The fuck're you talking about I'm saying you have to pay fucking 30 to play the goddamn game. I'm not talking about your shitty meme argument. If I pay 30 dollars to play and then you tell me that the currency I earn from playing will only give me chests that I now have to pay money to open, it's kind of fucking bullshit
There's no reason to remove the free crates. Dev is full retard for even suggesting it. One free crate rotation out every 4-6 months and everyone will be happy
Camden Evans
This, I do like the game at the moment, but I am well aware that a better developer could pop up at any moment and provide a better experience. The moment I see any item with a stat. Then the game has officially hit the end of its life cycle (or at least it gets removed from my list of cool shit). I'll move on after that point.
Robert Gomez
honestly loot crates killed call of duty more than literally anything else. Nothing scares normies away more, even Overwatch is being quickly dropped by anyone who isn't a bliz dick sucker. Sacrifice good will and franchise lifespan for ez quickbux
Adam Wright
Yes! Now you just HAVE to buy the microtransa-
Oh wait you don't.
Nicholas White
>it doesn't imbalance the game when you buy camo pants and urban jacket! it's all optional that you can hide from other players by buying better clothes!
Isaac Bell
>>hurhur not until release No they didn't, read the dev diaries, they said during the event. They said nothing about waiting for the game to be completed. If they did, provide a direct quote for others to judge in this discussion. >you can't
faggot, your point is moot.
Lucas Butler
You have not played the game
Andrew Sullivan
Nigga you're missing the point. Sure we 'dont' have to buy the keys. Whatever.
He's REMOVING. Literally REMOVING cosmetics that you could earn by simply playing the game. That's fucked. No one should sit by and let a dev remove shit like that.
Tyler Morgan
They specifically said no microtransactions before its out of early access tho.
Jacob Collins
source:my ass
Lincoln Carter
Yeah, I guess it's cool of them to add microtransactions to their literally unfinished game, I mean it's more important for true fans to have a proper way of sucking dev dick than it is to actually provide a finished and stable game which runs well and doesn't have bugs.
Anthony Myers
>Limited run of cosmetics that go directly to the prize pool for a tournament >Cosmetics that don't offer any advantage whatsoever >Cosmetics that are completely fucking OPTIONAL
He could offer transactions for glittery letters for your username for all I fucking care. If it doesn't impact gameplay and is optional, I don't give a flying fuck.
Dominic Miller
Literally who cares. For 3 dollars you can buy all the clothes that look decent in the game on the workshop. Meaning PU makes nothing.
Carter Foster
I will give it to you that I don't give a fuck about that specific thing. But going on how this microtransaction shit has progressed over the years, both in the sense of industry and in individual games, I have 0 tolerance for grey area shit. Devs can either give me a full game or fuck off. A paywall is a paywall and I paid for a game not a trip to microtransaction-mart.
Jack Allen
Name 5 games that did this that weren't free to play.
I'll give you 1: Payday 2
Jacob Fisher
Don't buy the game then, they already said they were gonna add this shit early on.
Anthony Brooks
THAnks for the advice. You shouldn't either, as you're getting fucked in the ass.
Jackson Russell
nah, he probably doesn't care, as he was aware in the first place that this was going to happen. Because he is an informed individual and you're not.
Charles James
Wait until it will go in the footsteps of Ark and release an expansion pass in early access. Retarded shills will still defend this garbage.
Jordan Allen
I saved up my ingame points and bought 11 boxes in total. Got 3 skirts and has already enough money to buy more crates to try my luck for more skirts.
Landon Thompson
Please provide another way to fund a 24/7 online game after the one-time purchase of the base game. Would you rather pay a subscription instead? People get upset at microtransaction bullshit in singleplayer games for good reason. For online games, particularly ones that offer content that in no way bars access to the core content of the game or gives the player an advantage over others for paying with real money, I see nothing to be upset about. How else do you expect them to keep those servers running and continue developing the game?
One thing's for sure though: Brenden is new to this PR thing. He assumed his dumbass player base would understand the crate is being used to fund charities and a tournament hosted by an independent organization and not get upset about it. He should have expected the knee-jerk emotional reactions he got, especially for not announcing it earlier. It otherwise gives them the perfect excuse to test this system before the game launches.
Connor Collins
we have reached an age where people not only defend money-grabbing tactics, they welcome it
