I unironically love dual wielding in video games.

Sword + Shield is the ultimate dual wield build.

Nah m8, it's all about the Halberd

>mfw dual shields

It's like my least favorite. Punching is better, weapon and board is better, two hander is better. Dual weilding is only cool when it's something like tonfas.

I actually can't think of a single instance in video games where dual wielding was in any way a purposeful and genuinely needed inclusion

>inb4 dork sols

>sword + shield
>not shield + shield to literally become invincible

I literally only played Dual wielders in all MMOs that have them

I only dual wield guns, but no judgement on the melee counterpart.

Unless its lightsabers in which case I'll dual wield the living fuck out of them.

...

Shields ain't actually for pussies.

Some JRPGs where your DPR is ass without a weapon in both hands.
It's neither a big, nor particularly relevant instance, but it exists.

Kirito is the first dual weilding swordsman that I fucking hated

Magic > your dex faggotry

don't hit the camera, man

SHANK TWO NIGGAS AT ONCE

>Glass Cannons that deal many small hits and not one big hit
Literally incapable of succeeding. If your going to be a glass cannon you need to kill your target before it can hit you.

Either Sword and Board or use a Claymore.

>DPR
what?

it depends on how much damage the tiny hits do and how quickly they are landed. One big hit is fine, but if I can land 3-4 smaller hits that amount to more damage overall it'd be better to go with that. Faster swings also mean less recovery per swing, allowing for easier evasion (if the game is action based and not a standard RPG)

SHANK ONE NIGGA TWICE

Rapier/ cutlass + dagger = god tier
Two swords = underage edgelord tier

I unironically dual wield katanas in every game you can.

>It's a "Shield barely has any offensive skills" episode

This is what pisses me off.

I miss gladiator spec from WoD. Only good thing in that shitheap.

>rapier/cutlass + dagger

more like fedora tier

excuse me mlady

damage per round

dipshit

More games need a sword and pistol combination.

>not wanting to be a swash buckler
You've got no style

>damage per round

what's the literal fucking point

>He doesn't use two swords for twice the power

i wanted him in smash so badly brehs

When did Kirt become an elf?

Wolfenstein

Measuring damage dealt per round is a thing, I don't fucking know what more you want.

because it's almost as redundant as your entire existence

That's because Kirito is a Mary sue. Lloyd had flaws and proper character development

The fact that he's a costume means they're paying attention. Granted he's probably not likely anymore seeing as ssb is one giant commercial for Nintendo's latest games. But I still have hope.

Never heard anyone use that term. not even guides I've read on gamefaqs.

samurai sword require two hands

Dual wield + jacket = cringe edgy kid
Katana + black clothes = weaboo fag
mace/shield + european armor = war lord

DOOL WIELD

>not triple-wielding like animango man

I actually love the idea, too bad it's executed so poorly in One Piece.

Halo 2 and 3
The various combinations for weapons made it fun and added some depth as you'd try and combine optimal weapon combos.

Reminder that dual wielding two one handed weapons is completely impractical and not actually a viable martial technique.

If anyone knows the name of the HEMA historian expert who always wears a sweater in his videos, he explains this perfectly.

The short of it is you don't actually gain any advantage from a second weapon. If you swing both at once then they are each only getting half your weight behind them. If you have one weapon you can just swing it one way and then the other.

The same is even more stupid with guns akimbo. No firearm is designed to be aimed accurately in that way at all. Equilibrium is stupid bullshit. There isn't even an advantage in an age where you have magazines and can fire more than one bullet from a single gun before you have to spend 2 whole minutes reloading it. Only reason you should ever use guns akimbo is if you have 10 guns strapped to your body like in Boondock Saints and you're planning on emptying in quick succession and dropping them until you get to your last gun and reloading that one.

Samurai sword require by a fag

>Equilibrium is stupid bullshit.
>A movie is stupid bullshit
Woah

I thought we were talking about melee dual wielding

I'm all for two pistols

Yeah, but it looks cool.

>taking anything lindy says seriously

you should know the guys a nutcase

I remember hearing that duel wielding is a completely retarded tactic irl and pretty much never works but I don't remember why.

>Not liking Santoryu

>not wielding 7 swords

come on step it up

>Not using 3 katanas
fags

>implying you have a chance against polearm master race

[lindybeige intensifies]

I think this was actually the moment that I aaid fuckit, dropping this show.

Skyrim if you want to count melee + magic

What about Saber + pistol?

Even dual wielding makes more sense than using a scythe in combat

This, but falchions, short halberds/glaives/war scythes/etc., and hookswords with daggers are also good.
Basically any hyper-specialized, one handed melee can benefit from a parrying dagger, swordbreaker, or hand trident.
I will never not be mad about dual daggers making a single shortsword or dagger completely invalid in almost every RPG.

Using the same size swords? that's idiotic.
Using a broadsword and short sword? That can work.

>If anyone knows the name of the HEMA historian expert who always wears a sweater in his videos, he explains this perfectly.
>historian expert
>lindybiege
>historian expert

And that utter fool also refuses to take blatant and obvious truth as facts unless it's painted on a mural or on a vase despite simple logic being his main counter-argument.

Like the time when he wanted to talk about an "innovation" he spotted once on a simple spear-holding on a vase by placing the bottom of the shaft against the inside of your elbow - and then someone pointed out the fact that, one, his spear is much too long for what he's talking about with the wrong materials and not even crafted - in fact it's simply just a fucking piece of wood. Second, if he got hit by ANYBODY or blocked, he'd be tearing his fucking elbow off.

To which he replied, in the now gloriously remembered deleted comment, "But it looks like it on the vase, so you're probably wrong." and then he refuses to talk about it or acknowledge the fact that he spent a full video being wrong.

When he logged into ALfheim online.

Dual shielding Knight in Bravely Default was OP.

Also, Lindy isn't a HEMA historian. He's a wannabe historian, he knows jackshit about HEMA.

kek

Lindybeige is well educated on history, and makes interesting videos and is likeable enough, but I wouldnt consider someone a historical expert without a degree in it.

You could be knowledgeable about something without being an EXPERT.

He's just a knowledgeable guy on the topic of history. He's not a warrior, either, he's no martial artist, he doesn't actively participate in historical combat recreations, nor does he do research and archaeology or ancient sociology.

Holy shit these swords look so much worse than his original ones.

those literally look like some kingdom hearts fanfic tier shit

He's not even particularly well educated on history, as shown by the amount of times he's proven wrong on a topic. There's even a sub-section of his videos where people point out the amount of faults in his claims.

>Literally incapable of succeeding.
That's a funny way of saying "unable to survive against anything with an ability that leaves them at 1 hp if they get almost killed".
Such as pokemon.
If your glass cannon doesn't have mold breaker or it's supported by some other external damage throw it in the trash.

why was he the only with with duel wield skill?

They're pretty basic, I wouldn't say they're overdesigned. Just enough to be unique.

More MCs should use spears or polearms as a primary weapon.

Or just get a long stick with a pokey end. Shit is cash.

Depends on the universe. It's valid in Star Wars where energy shields can block blaster fire but not blades. The big question you have to answer is "Why not just shoot them?"

Say that to my war scythe and not online. See what happens.

>Lindybeige is well educated on history
SPANDAUman can't even tell his historical shit from his historical dick.

Single weapon style with no offhand is so underappreciated. It's basically two-handing but with an increased range of motion at will.

That sucks, my bad. Literally the only video of his I watched all the way through. I guess that's why his shit never gets posted anymore. I definitely knew from his attitude that he was too big for his britches.

There's still some truth to what he said, though. There's really a limited use to it. There are definitely situations where it could work, but his main point was that you could just have a shield which is much more practical for not dying.
If your opponents were unprotected it would be pretty effective because you just need to cut them.

What about two greatswords?

...

Just a reminder One Piece went to shit after Enies Lobby.

Because the game engine determined he had the quickest reflexes.

Hey Sup Forumsros, what's REALLY the difference between a 2DS XL and a normal 3DS?

I've never owned a nintendo handheld but they look interesting

>game includes single 1H style
>it's fucking reverse grip

Only relevant if the setting's firearms are in the single-shot stage of development. Looks cool as fuck though.

Out of the big three shonen mangas, One Piece never gripped my attention in any meaningful way

It was shit all along?

>Single weapon style with no offhand
>It's basically two-handing

I was a Ritualist/Assasin in GW1 who could wield 2 daggers. I dropped whoever was in front of me then sprinted away because I would have no energy left for a prolonged fight

>reverse grip anything

He wasn't.

One's 2D, bigger and has a joystick. The other is smaller, no joystick and 3d.

Icepick grip is valid though, just niche.
martialtraveler.wordpress.com/2009/09/19/reverse-grip-or-zatoichi-style/

What JRPGs have a Democratic People's Republic in them?

>Sword in one hand
>Have two hands
>Can grab sword with other hand at any time for more power
What are you confused about

>he doesn't use a net and trident
lmao good luck getting out of that one 2sword fags

No dual shields made SKyrim a 0/10

It started really well, it wasn't too childish but wasn't too serious, after it built up to the specific arc I mentioned the whole thing pretty much went down hill since the creator went full retard and decided to prioritize shit like pic related.

the original 3DS size was nice and compact. Fits in any pocket without being intrusive. unfortunately they never even tried to sell the N3DS version.

XL is great and I actually do enjoy the bigger size, but it barely fits in your pocket and creates a huge bulge bigger than anyone's phone would. forget keeping anything else in that pocket.

the 2DSXL is literally just the N3DSXL but without 3D.

>this meme
Either that's ONE weapon that just equips in both hands on default, or it's an animation error.

AKIMBO SHIELDS
