Although I didn't create this one, I'm replaying through the whole series, I'm guilty of creating one thread for each game after I finished each entry. Still have MGS 4 (currently in progress), PW and V to replay. Debating whether or not to buy Portable Ops.

I just love this series more and more as time goes by. Everytime I replay a MGS game I appreciate more stuff and learn new things.

The Nuclear trailer is probably the best use of licensed music I've seen for a long time. Any other song would not have created the insane amount of hype that it did.

Because they're all soldiers and fighters who can't fathom a world without war and conflict. Big Boss figured it out in PW but instead of going along with it he said 'fuck that' and went the complete opposite because he didn't like the idea of not fighting anymore ever. It took him until MGS4 to realize this was the wrong choice.

David was literally bred for the sole purpose of being as killer and he even knew what Big Boss was doing was wrong

Well that's why he is the hero of the series. He's different than all the rest.

Ironically he is the only one who actually manages to do something to further The Boss' will and he didn't even know she existed.

Why do people shit on MGS4's story when Peace Walker's story was 50x worse?

For half a year or more we couldn't talk about any game in this popular and fairly well liked series because of schizo trannys. Now that they're suicided we are making up for lost time.

But Peace Walker has a better story than MGS4, David Hayter sounds like an autist with throat cancer but the story is better. Big Boss' early days as a mercenary alongside Kaz is more interesting that whatever the fuck MGS4 was supposed to be. PSP limitations and comic book cutscenes aside, Peace Walker was a better story and a solid follow-up to MGS3.

I beat mgs 2 last week and beat MGS a couple years ago.

Is the next step Peace Walker or portible ops?

I heard you can skip portible ops without any problems to the story, like it's story is sort of segmented from the rest of the games

Reminder that tranqs trivialise the game and you don't deserve max ranking if you abuse them

You can skip PO since Kojima decided it doesn't exist for whatever reason, but its still a good game and Gene is genuinely one of the most interesting Metal Gear 'villains' to exist.

I think you just fell for his camera close ups, emotional scenes and murrikan pandering. If you remove all that, the game is kinda meh.

What's stupid about an AI? And MGS4 has the highest concentration of stupid shit in the series.

It didn't though. It was Ocelot being Ocelot and acting overly dramatic to fool the Patriot's into thinking he had really been taken over so he could carry out his plans without them getting suspicious.

The series literally has supernatural elements and people in the real world have survived being shot multiple times in the head with no severe consequences other than ugly scars.

I like them all, but some are worse than others. Still, I look at the, as a whole package, I'd never pretend one doesn't exist.

It seemed like a cheap way to get some emotion in the story but it wasn't really warranted

It was known in 2005 with the first promotional image of MGS4 that she was coming back, that was the point of MGS4, every character would be coming back one last time

I always thought it got bombed to shit by the MiGs she called, but they didn't actually bomb the area The Boss died (Kruschev called off the bombing) and the Davy Crocketts she fired were aimed at the Groznyij Grad base, not the lake or the flower field.

I would at least recommend mainlining PW if you're planning to also play V. You will have no idea who Paz, Chico, Kaz, or Huey are and they are major characters in V. The short summary that Ground Zeroes gives you doesn't really suffice
