No

>DICE spends years making shovelware garbage
>EA buys them
>DICE then proceeds to release their most critically acclaimed games ever
>F-Fucking EA

Battlefield games were never good btw. PR and Squad managed to take the few novel ideas the series did have and executed them properly.

DAoC is getting a remake. I imagine it's some Mythic guys working on it.

What "former glory"? The gunplay used to be violently awful.

>most critically acclaimed games ever

Let me guess, IGN 10/10, Gamespot 9/10 etc?

Really boggles the noggin friend

like waiting 60 seconds to spawn and getting base raped every round and walking 2-4 KM every life?

They nailed the large scale battles though, with is what a Battlefield game is all about, the map design wasn't just a line of flags funneling you into one another, they weren't perfect but they were true to the core of what made the games good.

>BF2
>Grenade spam
>Worthless MG's

No

Stop playing 24/7 karkand

now grenades recharge and everyone gets SMGs with no recoil regardless of time period.

>awful gunplay

this is true, Battlefield 2 was only good because it was a fairly moddable platform for other shit.

DICE/EA have basically locked down the frostbite games due to both a desire to stop "piracy", sell DLC, but the thing they seem to stress the most in their PR, (and part of me seems to think it's what DICE/EA employees actually believe) is

>consistency.

this desire for "a consistent frustration free gameplay experience" is sort of the reason why DICE/EA have been ever more restrictive on server options with each release of battlefield To put it simply they want games that are inoffensive and bland as possible, mods, server options, admin-powers, etc. are seen as a "bump" or "hiccup" (as it means different servers can play entirely differently due to different content/rule-sets the designers didn't intend for) and thus have been phased out.

Also why DICE removed small arms dmg to helis?

It already has my man

Don't forget the hitboxes/dolphin diving.

>random deviation

this

i miss when maps werent all in a straight line like fucking firestorm

>tfw you will never play vietnam, 2, or 2142 ever again

the fuck? i play 2 and 2142 all the time, tad laggy but still playable

playing with bots doesn't count, user.

i dont play with bots

WHAT THE FUCK

THANK YOU

go now my son and relive its glory

bf2 and 2142 have serves that shit load of people play. I was playing 2 for awhile months ago but I usually end up going back to 4

fucking how long has this been a thing? this seems to good to be true, man.

over a year for revive but there was something before it cant remember what its called and it was annoying to set up

>tfw no server play final stand DLC
>tfw no BF3 servers play after math

you have helped me fill a void in my life. thank you so much, user.

>this desire for "a consistent frustration free gameplay experience", is sort of the reason why DICE/EA have been ever more restrictive on server options with each release of battlefield.

though I guess another thing is "muh achievements, muh progress/leveling, muh rank/kdr" and user-hosted servers would mess with that faggy "esports"-thing DICE want's to happen, or they feel it would somehow be "unfair" for players on another platform.

I really hate how dlc maps are separated they should have given them out and made it so the cycle with the old maps. good amount of people still play 4 not sure about 3

how do i make buddies so i can squad up and play some games with friends? how do i avoid the nade spam?

I spend so much time on buggy racing servers

no, it's a console shooter now
