What the fuck am I looking at? Did you put a raspberry pi in a suitcase?
No just some shitty laptop i googled to represent how i feel about my shitty laptop
How about you tell us your SPECS, instead of assume vague terms like "shitty laptop" to mean anything at all.
My shitty laptop can run MGSV and KF2, at 720p & Low settings.
I have a 1.70 Ghz cpu. i dont know what the graphics card is. its a HP beats 15 laptop i got for my birthday and im having to use as a backup.
Just use the Speccy, and post a screencap of the basic info it loads up, ya goof.
>Tfw your cpu is running at 112C while youre doing nothing but shitposting
But my computer can run some games at the lowest settings like mafia II. i had to buy a cooling pad as well
>AMD A8/A10
huh?
Anyway, both of those would be enough to PLAY just about anything on the market at the moment, on lower settings at least. Upping the RAM to 16GB (if supported) could help performance a bit, as those integrated GPUs on A8-10 use regular RAM as video memory.
I could at least recommend trying and playing:
-STALKER trilogy (see this guide pic, use DX9 mode, max.)
-Talos Principle (HUGE options menus to tweak...everything.)
-Serious Sam 3: BFE (very much like DOOM, but better. As huge options as in Talos)
-FEAR 1 + expansion packs
-Half-Life games, all of them
-Resident Evil Remake HD (look up the rendering resolution tweak, drop it from 1440p to 720p)
-The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
-Final Fantasy Type 0 HD
That 112 degrees can be a detector malfunction; the system should auto-shutdown if temps get close to 100 degrees.
That being said, consider opening your machine up and cleaning coolers of any and all dust. Maybe apply some new thermal-paste on CPU & GPU too.
Tried to open up my laptop to do that but i ended up unplugging the mouse and keyboard and breaking them due to how fragile the cords were.
Emulate anything you want from 8-Bit NES to N64 & GBA. Even the PSP emu might work OK at times.
Most games pre-2012 should run OK, anything pre-2008 practically perfectly at 720p.
early-to-mid-00s had some superb PC centric titles, like pic related
you usually HAVE TO unplug them, but they shouldn't be that vulnerable. Just make sure you click back their simple locks afterwards.
If you feel uncomfortable with doing that, then just spray canned air into the air vents to get the worst dust out.
Excuse my lack of knowledge but what game is that?
yeah im going to have to do that. i usually just vacuum it out to get the dust out. and i have more fans that keep it pretty cool under it
change that paste op!
That is Max Payne 2, and yes your lack of knowledge is quite shameful, it would make one assume of you being underaged.
Any game that's older than 5-6 years than the year your laptop was made should run fine.
Also, emulate old consoles, everything up to and maybe including N64 should run fine
yeah soon to not be tho. But im starting to play these classics. i want to get mafia 1 but i cant find any way to play it i tried to play it on emulator that didnt work and i pirated it twice and those didnt work either sadly.
N64 runs smoothly i
Max Payne 2.
Obviously you should play 1 first. Amazing titles both.
>everything up to and maybe including N64 should run fine
I was already emulating N64 stuff something like 15 years ago on a single-core, no GPU Windows XP machines. It's really not even a challenge this day and age.
you can run all my essential classic favorites:
Doom -games
Duke Nukem 3D
Blood
Shadow Warrior 3D
Half-Life -series
Quake 1 & 2
Serious Sam -series
STALKER trilogy
FEAR + expansions
Portal 1 & 2
Far Cry 1
Crysis 1 + expansion
Max Payne 1-2
Worms: Armageddon
System Shock 1 & 2
Fallout 1 & 2
Killing Floor
Red Orchestra 2 + RS
Warcraft 3 + TFT
C&C: Red Alert 1 & 2
Witcher 1
Talos Principle
With anything older than 10 years old, you can crank up just about all settings besides AA. With newer, maybe stick to ~Medium settings.
>yeah soon to not be tho
This is an 18+ board, I hear a bannu calling
What this user said, go get some thermal paste & swap it out asap before you fry your computer.
Thanks for the list thats what i needed
I will make sure to play them both
Ill try to, Im in the process of building a new PC im just broke
Attaboy!
I recall at least MP1 having some weird problem with modern OS's that makes some of the audio not play right. There are patches for that though, so if you're not hearing the trademark Max's monologue narration, look them up.
While at it, I might recommend some more classics: the legendary Silent Hill games, 1-4.
Here's the often re-posted SH PC guide to get them running smooth on more modern PCs, and the DL links to the actual games:

SH2 DDL:

SH3 DDL:

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" is a all-in-one fix, that works as a no-cd crack as well. It is included in the pack.
If you use the NEW fix mentioned in the guide, you can use the sh2proxy's EXE as the no-cd crack!
In case you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.
SH2-4 do not support Xinput gamepads. Either use Xpadder, a DirectInput pad, or just play with KB+M.
You can now see some decent emulator settings for SH1 as well in the guide. If the image of the game does NOT fill your entire screen in fullscreen mode, check your plugin AND GPU control panel's image scaling settings!
Optionally, try the PGXP emu for less wobbly PS1 graphics.
>general tips
-Play in release order.
-Never below Normal.
-Replay 'em.
-Turn OFF flashlight!
Installing halflife 1 currently and i am going to play that first
Why turn off flashlight?
I am playing Silent Hill 3 on easy after failing to melee combat a doggo, but I already beat the game before that on a difficulty I forget... on the HD collection...
will this work with wine
Yes, I enjoy a glass of wine while playing Silent Hill
Does 1 work on retropi?
