Really annoyed me in Hollow Knight when all you're doing is having contact with smooth bugs with no discernible spikes or poison on their carapace, and you take damage like you just got hit by a fucking truck.

yea attack animations are good but contact damage is a good compromise for platformers.

honestly though, it's the reason minecraft is shit. IT needs attack animations and better AI.
