Sorry I can't stand all the unnecessary cutscenes and forced dialogue when the story is fucking garbage. The game has no sense of adventure or exploration whatsoever. I had tons more fun going back to playing Emerald and Heart Gold after slogging through SM.

It baffles me why Game Freak is so intent on shoehorning story into these games when they cannot write to save their lives.

Sun and Moon was boring and just crushed my last interest for the Pokemon series. It was a fun ride but I'm an ADULT now

Sun and Moon were good games, but they definitely had some major flaws such as the lack of exploration. Hopefully USM will fix most of the problems. If Platinum was able to redeem the worst games in the series, come at me Sinnohfoeti then maybe USM can do the same.

1. Sold my 3DS to buy a Wii U well worth the money. I got more time on Smash 4 and Xenoblade Chronicles X than I did on my entire 3DS
2. I absolutely hate fairy types and refuse to support nu-Pokemon until they are nerfed or, hopefully, removed entirely
3. Sun and Moon were already everything I hated about Pokemon dialed up to 11. Linearity, unnecessary gimmicks, power creep...
4. There's no real way to fix Sun/Moon, unlike Black/White. In B2/W2, Game Freak made the region far less linear, offered a bunch of new routes and new Pokemon, and basically created the Gold/Silver to Black/White's Red/Blue. Because Sun/Moon are on islands, there's no real way for them to make it less linear, and even if a new island somehow poofed into existence, it still wouldn't solve the linearity problem
5. I don't like Hawaii.

I was waiting for them to finish all the 3DS revisions. They never did, so I'm never buying it. Not buying a switch till at least one revisions comes out for it, since the base model is ugly as sin and joycons are unwieldy as a motherfucker from the few times I got to try them.

I stopped playing Pokemon after Gen V. Just sorta grew out of it, and the franchise was massively downhill afterwards.

If it's like BW2 I'll get it but if it's not I'll pass. SM in general looks too similar to XY and seems like a waste of money in my opinion.

I thought the story in BW was alright. Much better than anything prior to, and I couldn't be bothered to go beyond the first gym in XY, SM.

Stereotypical island settings are the worst. I'd much prefer a Caribbean setting than Polynesian setting. At least the Caribbean has interesting shit, like huge mountains, deserts, gulches, and pirates.

B/W/B2/W2 was way better. Especially because it wasn't entirely intrusive into the game. N had more actual character development than Lillie's entire retarded family combined.

Their design was pirate based, but their ideology was more cult-like. Real fucking pirates, roaming the seas around the islands and jacking people's pokemon would be great. You could roam around their hideout, and it could move depending on the day of the week or something.

Diamond and Pearl were always good and platinum was an excellent follow up. There's only so much you can revise between a third game and the first two it's not going to go from utter trash to best game in the series with a few alterations. SM is a far worse entry for the sequels to build upon I can't see them being good

I'm not getting it because Gamefreak made it very clear they have no idea what they're doing when they released SM. Pokemon peaked on the DS. Time to let go.

I skipped Sun/Moon because I found X/Y alright at best, and ORAS completely disappointing. I'll download this on my hacked 3DS, though unless it ends up blowing my mind It will likely be the last mainline pokemon game I play. At this point, I'd be more excited for a new Mystery Dungeon or Ranger game.

I thought the complete opposite. I thought X/Y was terrible and OR/AS were incredible. They renewed my faith in pokemon with all it's features and perfect upgrades.
Then Sun and Moon came out and did the whole "style over substance" thing with the only true good addition being the remove of battle platform circles and the pelago (which completely removes EV training, it's a huge help).
