I want it, but not 40 dollars want. I learned my lesson on that PsP FF game.

Thanks pc

I just played my first game of Blade, and I must confess that it feels very... luck-based. Can I ever do anything interesting with these cards like win money or items, or is this exclusively a kill-time-on-train sort of deal?

That being said after beating all 3 of my train-buddies I came up with a quick set of tips that I can follow to (usually) win:
>save one lowbie-card for your last card, that allows you to play Bolts and Mirrors right up until the end
>draws are pointless and unless you have more (pretty high) cards left, you don't want to draw ever
>the AI is pretty aggressive with their bolt/mirror meme-shit and will often waste a ton of them early, when they do so, just keep them in check by playing cards that put you 1 point above them or other minor cards

Are these shit-tips for a Blade player? Got any of your own?

What the fuck happened to my screenshot, Jesus Christ...

I'm pleasantly surprised by the soundtrack, it's really good

I fucking know, right? After TITS' soundtrack I was impressed, and thought the series essentially peaked, but Cold Steel so far has delivered as good and better at some point.

I for one get rock hard at the piano in the battle theme: youtube.com/watch?v=qimVJSMapAo

What's going on here? better BGM?

The sequel's soundtrack's even better.

Considering my current Jrpgs, would I enjoy this?

Best girl is Emma with the runner up being Laura.

Blade increases bonding points. That's pretty much the use of it. You don't get extra points for winning so I just lose on purpose.

>pic related

You have a majority of turn-based JRPGs, so yes I'd think so.

>muh swordsmanship
Laurafags are cancer. She's bottom-tier.

Yeah. Sorry to say this but I don't really like the original battle bgm

Laura only works because Rean is a sword-autist by proximity to him practicing 8 Leaves

So there is essentially NO point to it except to have fun? I mean I don't mind, but fuck I'd prefer being able to gamble or earn something by playing well...

She gets a little bit less sword autistic later on in the story. It's not by a lot but it's slowly going down. But how you gonna say no to one of the best bods in the game?

>tfw want to play series on my vita
>will have to import all of the vita ports of trails in the sky, and ao no kiseki,

>youtube.com/watch?v=01Q1GO-49EQ

friendly reminder this is the greatest final dungeon theme ever composed
>1:50
>3:33

Who falcom discord here?

Haven't started coldsteel yet, I want to finish up tits first.
Still in chapter 2 on ng nightmare the 3rd.
I played fc ng+ nightmare just to get a max bp carryover, but damn, new game nightmare is pretty tough.
Every battle is dangerous, especially with 3rd's new turn modifiers.

Anyway, looking forward to coldsteel. Really hope they end up doing crossbell releases too some time.

Still prefer Hollow Light on the Sealed Land, even with its abysmal level design

You get a key item when you beat the Blade Master during the festival. But, I can't recall if you can gift that one or trade it for something.

SC > FC for final dungeon themes

What would even be the final dungeon theme of SC? The entire last chapter's essentially one massive dungeon with a bunch of themes.

There is a Discord? Link?

Isn't this the worst trails series yet?

I don't agree with that, it's good but Falcom really pulled out Hollow Light too early on a dungeon that didn't deserve it

Exactly. All of them.

Maybe if they didn't use it on a boring last dungeon and relegate it to cutscene use in SC....

I don't remember fc's final dungeon being that bad. Maybe that's the problem, I don't really remember it at all.

so this is the power of pc wow

TITS' ost is not good.

It's not bad, just really boring. The music is fantastic but there's only a few corridors to take and every other room is just end-game loot.

I don't know, I thought Light Illuminating the Depths was pretty god tier. Although that might be bias since I just finished Zero and liked it overall more than CS.

>Edition

Anyways, i like it. Turbo mode is especially nice, and apparently they'll add it into TiTs FC, SC and 3rd in the future too.

Source? Because that would be kickass, just using it for all the running 90 ft of hallway here and 50 ft of large room there is fucking great.

Weasley's hoping for an orgy.

Nice.

Etrian Odyssey?

Who wouldn't?

Jusis and Crow are not in the picture, so I don't see why?

Stop posting Jusis.

Jusis is best Cold Steel

I think you meant Machias?

He's okay.

Good point.

My Rean was gay for Crow in CS1 but went full Jusis in CS2.

CS2 made Rean feel like the only "family" Jusis had.

I'm going to pursue Crow to be my best friend in all the cast.

Are the Trails in the Sky games worth playing? I've never touched this series before.

Trails in the Sky trilogy is better than anything on that list.

Only if you have patience to read through a lot of text

Was that Sara nude model just a ruse?

I wouldn't say it's as good as the Liberl or Crossbell games, but it's still pretty decent overall. The overall worldbuilding and plot are just as good. Gameplay is simplified a lot, that's either a positive or negative depending on how you look at it. Where things take a dive are characterization and setting.

Bonding system means that a lot of characterization is will be centered around a character's relation to Rean, rather than themselves or other characters. On a first playthrough, you can't even access all of them unless you cheat engine it, so you'll miss out on a lot of the main cast's development. And that's skipping out on how Rean is such a bog standard LN-tier MC. The general setting, at least for the first game, is centered around the equivalent of high school students going on field trips around the nation, albeit that always coincidentally stumbles upon a big overarching conspiracy.

The appeal of Trails isn't that it is so good that it is like nothing you have seen before in a JRPG.

The appeal of Trails is that it is the sort JRPG series everyone used to love in the "good old days" but they not only kept making them, but the world and character dynamics keep growing from game to game and the franchise continues to exist today.

is this just the first game?

if so then that's a shame. PC bro is year away from Osborne's wild ride

I like CS far more than Sky. Zero is great too, but can't give my full opinion until I play Ao too.

If you like world building, consistency and so on, yes. Give it a check.

That afterschool theme hits me like a nostalgic rock after finishing the game when it came out in 2015. Time sure flies, all those school memories, chilling by the campus and wacky school mates requests ;_;

yea

Why are there so many secondaries in these threads?

I feel you 100%, user. The game might not be up to par with the rest of the series but they nailed the afterschool, sun-setting atmosphere just right

>all those non-JRPGs

You're retarded.

Every game on that list is a Jrpg user.

Not worth a you

Only played with Xbox controller so far.
Is there a way to turbo without skipping battle animations?

>no Japanese VA
Not even going to pirate this shit

>he doesn't know

It's coming.

Up there, but it'll take something truly magnificent to beat Hollow Light. Phantasmal Blaze and Castle of Phantasmagoria duel for the No. 2 slot, and then I'd choose Mystic Core followed by A Light Illuminating the Depths. SC's weird because there's multiple end-game dungeon themes, but I think Axis Pillar, while great on its own, is the weakest final-dungeon-with-bosses theme.

Hopefully this leads to a lot more people beating FC because they have no excuse not to skip slow battles/overworld backtracking.

Maybe, but it's possible to figure out how to extract and rework assets into this port, even without PhyreEngine tools. The undub hacker and some others are tinkering around with mods and exploits in these games often.

>adding superfluous shit instead of actually fixing the games

What a stupid bitch. Anyone that wants something like that can use Cheat Engine.

>tfw beat this game over a year ago on my vita
Lol stupid pcfags

>XXX Days until I can fight McBurn with a stable frame rate.

>inferior visuals
>uncomfortable tiny-screen handheld
>battery life or play with a cord that's always in the way

No wonder Sony abandoned you.

The game seems really boring but Osbourne doesn't die and he's Rean's dad

Yeah

a reminder that Adult Rean is stronger than the Divine Blade

We have no confirmation on that anyway

Which Divine Blade? There are a few.

It's a shame she recently fixed the NG+ quartz-shatter bug in 3rd, then. How about stumbling upon a solution for converting the Sky releases (and Xanadu Next) to DirectX 9 so we don't have to use an inconsistent DX wrapper on modern NVidia set-ups? And she's been busy with Zwei II for months now, plus QA.

Calvard when?

2020, probably. 2019 if they stick to PS4 and re-use the engine/assets.

You're late.

sorry
the calvard alarm went off and i slept through it

It's okay.

>knowing anything

Divine blade in his prime or now?
Also I always found Cassius so threatening because he had power but he also could think two steps ahead of you in the grand scale. I would accept the fact if Rean is stronger in a battle sense if he had Valimar at his disposal.

>not knowing anything

Is it optimistic to think Sen 2 will have a PC port by the year is done? I reckon Sen 3 will have a close release window between console and PC. I'll play the series sometime this year.

>not knowing nothing

I never played JRPGs growing up, will I miss out because I don't have the nostalgia for old JRPGs?

>not (not knowing anything)

>I reckon Sen 3 will have a close release window between console and PC
don't expect an eng version of 3 for another year, at least
kiseki is getting pretty popular outside of japan but it took 2 years for the first two to get localized

As long as you don't hate reading you will be fine. The games have fantastic writing and world building.

I do like reading, guess I'll give it a go. Thanks!

whos that guy?
is this the new socrates joke?

>not acknowledging that knowing nothing is the nothing known by no one neither

>knowing that you know nothing
