>Tekken 7 is a good game
Tekken 7 is a good game
it is, if you wanted a tekken thread you could have just said so
It is.
I imagine this guy tries the same thing every match until it works
It's like one of those Dark Souls videos in which the author never shows all the times the same shit didn't work.
Fuck off barney fag
fuck year bwooooy.
>dude epic one punch attack!
opm was a mistake
>want to play tekken
>base gameplay is amazing
>but in order to get to a level where the fun is i have to learn a spreadsheet of nonsensical obscure bullshit in order to counter each characters many gimmicks.
>This character has a low launcher that can chain into a mid launcher,
>This character also has a mid launcher that chains into a low launcher that chains into a mid, the only way to punish this is to parry the second hit
>This character has a mid string that is + on block that requires side stepping on the last hit
>This character has a throw with no obvious tells of when to break or where or how but if you dont enjoy eating 100 damage
>This character has a stance that requires specific moves to even hit them
I could go on all day but this shit is agonizing to learn, i mean im getting there but its such a slow process because the only way to learn is to ask someone else
This move has been around since before OPM.
Why is fur still a complete eyesore in games?
>Want to play Tekken
>Call friends to come over
>Play Tekken and a bunch of other fightan games
>Nobody is too good so they wipe the floor but everyone is good enough to have proper matches
What user don't you have any friends to have some casual fightan fun with?
Because the bitrate in the webm is potato.
>literally push any attack button to not get hit
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW
>Nobody is too good so they wipe the floor but everyone is good enough to have proper matches
GodDAMN I wish I had this.
>Not knowing about Miguel's Apple Punch
Is tekken actually good? I have no idea how it works. I watched some matches during evo this year and it was pretty entertaining.
yes
never played a fighting game before this one other than a few hours of random shit, and thought I hated fighting games. this game is amazing and I can't stop thinking about it
It's really defense oriented.
maybe
>tfw had the same realization while staring at my t7 box
>don't want to return in since it's a good fighter but the game is as difficult as a second language to learn with mechanical execution in the mix as a big fuck you
It hurts. I'm trying but my results are no better than button mashing against any non newer player.
>code won't work
How do I get Eliza?
wooow how was I supposed to know there was a second one
Worst Tekken ever
give gabe $5
Did that move always one hit KO? I seem to remember it didn't take all the health in the previous games.
>get hit by random strng
>think im allowed to press buttons once i've blocked it
>im not and i get hit launched and wallcarried and then im dead
nice
>mentor rank
>doesn't know every character movies
You have to accept that some of the game comes down to guessing or reading your opponent (depending on your skill level). Many strings have multiple way to counter any given counter by the other player so you'll need to learn a lot about other characters besides your own.
Also, understand that wakeup is more difficult than other games as, again, there is no surefire solution to every problem- you can wake up from a knockdown wrong and eat another knockdown. But the flip side of that is that you have offensive options on the ground as well. You don't always have to respect your opponent on wakeup.
this is why i uninstalled it. great game to watch though.
Dude has to have at least double the amount of wins he has in losses
The fuck was Jim doing a ki charge for? Deserved to die.
the second hit does
that match was stupid laggy for some reason (see connection) so the both of us were just messing around, I just wanted to get the shitshow over with and was stabbing myself but somehow landed one
I'm having so much fun with it. It just FEELS SO GOOD and buttersmooth, doing kenpo with Feng or launching a hundred jabs a minute with Steve Fox.
go play smash if you dont want to learn complex combos or the quirks of other characters
also comboing in tekken is not fucking hard. Just check the sample combos. If that fails, just learn a launcher and a spiral move into whatever you want. If all else fails, pick katarina and spam kicks.
This is my life with Soulcalibur. I play with most of my friends, but I've got one friend who is just slightly better than me. Every match we play always makes it to the last round with one of us, usually him, barely scraping by with the win.
Or you know, you could just play the game and have fun, getting better as you play it with mere instincts/getting to know the game and your character, and a minimum of time in practice mode.
defend this
>not Hwoarang
only at very high levels of play to be honest
every other level has tons of oki, guessing, and random offense. And I'm not complaining, that stuff is way more fun than getting your lows parried
I have no casual fighting friends offline and only a few online and they dropped tekken for GG mainly because of the same issues i talked about before, i just hate GG's rushdown gameplay and i find the game no fun.
does a glitchless fighting game even exist?
>Or you know, you could just play the game and have fun, getting better as you play it with mere instincts/getting to know the game and your character, and a minimum of time in practice mode.
this won't get you shit in tekken, you'll hit a wall within a month, two max of actually playing the game, and you'll continue to get blown up by random characters and random strings for the rest of your life
I never said the combo system was hard, why did you even bring that up? What i said was that it isnt just that each character has a few quirks like in literally any other fighitng game, its that most characters (particularly the popular online ones) a metric fuckton of gimmicks that you need to learn very specific counters to beat. Its actually made worse by the fact that tekkens combo system is so easy because it means the execution required to meme people out is zero where at least even in games like GG someone memeing on you actually takes some effort.
>100 frame windup animation
>WOOOAAAAAH WHY DID I DIE? WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT MOVE THAT TAKES 5 WHOLE SECONDS TO COME OUT KILLS ME IN ONE HIT
most of the "gimmicks" you are referring to come down to hi-to-low combos. You'll learn those with time and even still, most of them are not detrimentally damaging or launch capable.
>Not Lee
This bug was in the game since vanilla T7 arcade version.
I can't even do this against babby-tier bots in Treasure battle
Why are gooks so good at this game
If that's what it's like for you, you have no feel for it. You don't need to "study", you get to know the characters by actually fighting them and winning and losing and getting better. People on Sup Forums are always overexaggerating this aspect of Tekken.
They have forsaken 3D women and focused their pursuits on their passions.
gooks are good at all gook fighting games
what I wanna know is why aren't gooks any good at mortal kombat/injustice? Seriously they are god awful
>tfw you suck
Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!
If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.
It is
>you get to know the characters by actually fighting them and winning and losing and getting better
yeah dude you can really *see* and *feel* the difference between a move being +5 vs +6 or 13f punishable vs 14f punishable just by playing rando matches online. get over yourself, dumbass.
bait
>what I wanna know is why aren't gooks any good at mortal kombat/injustice?
those games are ugly as fuck and clunky no matter how good you get at them & western devs don't try to penetrate the jp/gook fighting game scene or game culture.
u kno what ur right im sure u can use ur psychic 200 iq brain to know how to punish AoP moves or the bears' gimmick strings after fighting two green ranked players online but the rest of us mortals are not so lucky
Yeah but maybe those moves are easier and more satisfying to learn after you have played the character for a while and learned the basics on your own, instead of just going to practice and trying to do it all from scratch.
...
Uhm yeah. You recognize the move and know instantly what worked against it and what didn't. You don't have to know the actual frames for this. You play this game best on automatic robot mode, reflexes.
Why am I even arguing this with you. If you're complaining about the difficulty and thinking you need to learn spreadsheets to play a game instead of, like with every game, by just playing it and getting to know it.
>TTT above Tekken 5:DRO
It is clear whoever made this list actually only plays 2D games.
>no melee
Mortal Kombat 4 higher than Armageddon
Fuck off.
THIS IS LOW
Armageddon was trash though. Only decent PS2 era MK was deception.
>>TTT above Tekken 5:DRO
They are both LITERALLY in the same tier
Yeah but it's placed higher up within that tier.
It wasn't really that good desu
1 bar connection?
what the fuck
was rage arts a mistake?
paul has the same attack since the first tekken probably
faggot
where's SMB?
The fuck is that?
eh they're fine
i rarely ever see anyone even use them anyway once you go past blue ranks. rage drives are where it's at
>don't have to watch a long wanky animation
>generally positive as fuck on block so you can just throw it out and either get to continue pressuring or get a free combo
as opposed to getting your rage art blocked and then losing 1/2 your HP from a juggle
super mario bros
wrong webm brodie
sorry typo
Super Smash Bros.
why does no one on Sup Forums play it?
Are those online? My Tekken install doesn't take nearly that long to load a match.
The fuck is that?
Read the filename.
>Lacks any complexity or depth
>Extremely homogenized cast
>Heavy amount of slow down on the PS4 version
>THIRTEEN yes count them 13 frames on input lag
>No cross platform play
>No rollback netcode
>Complete rehash of the previous games
>Retarded comeback mechanics rewarding the losing player with an almost instant kill free super
>Worst cast out of any tekken game
>"Newcomers" are just reskinned old characters
>Dumbed down mechanics (tekken was already a very dumbed down game) such as 1 button throw techs
>Backrolling on the ground to escape will now result in you being launched
>No widescreen support
>Denuvo
>Literal 1 button infinites
Its a shit game
yeah tekken's biggest flaw is definitely the load time when going to rematch
i don't see why it has to go through the entire load process when you rematch. especially now that you can infinitely rematch people online, the load times do add up
DRUUUUUUUUMPFFFFFF
Nintendo Fighting game
You'd have more luck learning anime like that. You NEED resources and specific training to even get past scrub tier in tekken.
It's the polar opposite of DOA.
LOADING TIMES
Look how smooth and snappy the anime games are if only they weren't a pain in the fucking dick to play. Running long sets in sf and tekken is cancer.
GG rev 2 isn't a pain by any means, neither is KoF
I tried xrd and I didn't like it.
that's a shame
nintendo have never made a fighting game tho
TURN UP THE RADIO
The OST isn't as bad as I thought overall, it's got some good tracks and moments. But it's less varried than the old soundtracks like T4. Jukebox is one of the best things about T7.
must be the xbone version
