Frankly, I enjoyed all the bad shit the characters went through, especially the C/D route opening part, since I enjoyed the total despair about the situation felt during the whole start of it. To then see ending E and that pic feels bretty gud.

Because of the total despair both of them went through, happy ending feels like a truly satisfying and well-deserved end for their story.
I feel bad for any new characters of his next game though. Taro isn't prone to repeating the same tropes so no chance in hell we'll ever get another uplifting happy end.
