It was alright as a handheld side entry like Portable Ops or Ac!d, an interesting diversion featuring MG characters but as an actual entry it's really weak and introduced a huge amount of bullshit like those AI's or that Huey built an MG that was more advanced than the models in MG1 and 2 and just so happened to look almost exactly like REX. It's a pretty poor entry to be honest.

MGS4 was an actual sequel quality issues aside, MGSV couldn't even manage that was was specifically developed as a "contained" title so casuals wouldn't get confused. MGSV is by far the single worst entry in MG.

But MGSVs story too was inconsequential to the continuity and only raised even more questions.

Peace Walker's story was fucking retarded and the severe technological disparity between it and the games set decades later was absurd. The gameplay was largely not horrible but it suffered from being on the PSP with the tiny zones and short missions, and the game was balanced around multiplayer for some reason which left all the bosses having retarded amounts of HP to deal with by yourself.

I did like the story though. Still, it heavily retcons Dr. Madnar being the inventor of Metal Gear.

MGS3 had a couple of things, the flying platforms were also a real thing (something you would know if you wasn't a complete faggot) but PW threw in tech that was brand new in MGS2 and treating it like it was age-old. PW threw out the balance and traded continuity for "what will the kids think is cool?"

Which is funny because that was what Kojima was actually doing, trying to get his kid interested in MGS.

It wasn't. MGSV lacked the story, characters and tone that made PW so great. Also all of the little gadgets you could unlock that made gameplay fun, and mission variety. Pooyan, ghost photography, and a bunch of fun missions like that were sorely missing from MGSV.
