How would I go about making a PS3 controller work on PC? Always liked the feeling of a PS3 controller, and I'm in the mood to play some PS2 classics, and any other steam games I have that are controller compatible. Is there some adapter I need or anything? Probably gonna get a new PS3 controller on eBay and use that. Thanks lads.

the fucking thing uses a goddamn USB. What do you think?
I meant for wireless, forgot to put that in the OP.
Same above applies. Are you so fucking stupid you didn't google this shit before making this oscar worthy thread?
Step one: Throw the controller in the trash
Step two: Get a better controller.
let me guess, you'll recommend the ugly and stupidly designed steam controller?
Of course not, that's the second least ergonomic controller design next to the Dualshock.
Just get a PS4 controller, Steam has native support for that one.
then what is it that you like?
How would i make a DS2 controller work in PC?
Blue or Black adapter?
DS3 Tool my friend
Literally, google it.
Absolutely don't do this. It's Chinese spyware. If you have that shit on your machine, get it the fuck off.
there another easy to use tool then?
SCPToolkit.
It's already been linked in the thread.
A bit tougher to install, but Motioninjoy is an actually factually malicious program.
This and only this
Better DS3. Quick, easy, one time set up, been using it for almost a year I think.

Used this garbage for around 6 years. Had problems the entire time but never really found a good one at the time and became content. Eventually, the drivers for the controllers just started fucking up, or something. I have no idea what happened, but I couldn't use a second controller, then I couldn't use a controller at all. I get a cannot load page where I should be seeing controller options.
You hook it up to steam, enable it to have control over it and voila.
this, and any game that you don't use steam for, just add it as a non steam game on steam for controller support.
Why would you recommend some dodgy 3rd party software when steam can support PS3 AND 4 controllers. see
SCP Toolkit allows you to connect the controllers over Bluetooth.
Believe it or not, but there are people who don't use steam
Better DS3 isn't much better, just prevents it from dialing home. It still fucks with ALL of your USB and Bluetooth drivers.
How the fuck i am supposed to connect a PS1-2 controller without an adapter.
Why you quoted me?
sorry.
Why the FUCK are you using a ps1 or 2 controller!?
Because why not?
It's depreciated hardware.
