So I just bought Hollow Knight, but the game feels really slow and the jumps imprecise.

My pc is a toaster, but if Ori works I guessed this should be fine. I even have the game running on low particle effects. and I'm playing it on a keyboard.

But is it normal it's so slow? Doesn't feel good at all.

If you mean that you have shitty fps, that's not normal.

...

Make sure you're running it with your dedicated GPU, user.
If that's the problem, this is basic stuff

more than shitty fps, there's definitely a delay between me hitting the jump and the character actually doing it and going where I want to.

...

Post specs

Game ran just fine on my machine FX8350 (upgraded to a Ryzen 1700 about halfway through the game), and a R9 290

I don't have a dedicated GPU, but I have 8GB of ram and my pc is from 2014

Then post what you DO have user.
go to windows start, run dxdiag, go to display and tell us what it says.

I could run it without any lag up until city of tears with a shitty laptop with family graphics, is your processor good?

Should I do keyboard or controller?

this shit is supposed to run the switch, with four A57 cores clocked at 50% of the full clocks, this shit should run on an intel atom if the devs knew what they were doing

You sound like the typical underage who has no fucking idea what a pc is what's inside it.

Just get a Switch.

Well he's probably running it with Intel HD integrated shit graphics, I had the same problem and fps was horrible.

modernish intel HD graphics compete with tegra X1 and many absolutely shit on it

Post speccy

Actually I just solved it. I changed the resolution to lowest and it works fine now.
not underage, just no experience with PC

Yet still if I switch to intel HD graphics my hollow knight runs like shit user.
Also OP said his pc is from 2014 and is probably not exactly a powerhouse.

maybe you have vsync on

>Yet still if I switch to intel HD graphics my hollow knight runs like shit user.
yes but that's the developers fault, if they knew what they were doing this shit wouldn't stutter on intel HD graphics, let alone on my i5 and GTX 1070 powered system

>My pc is a toaster
well then too bad this game isn't well optimised

Then what the fuck are you circlejerking about?
It's completely besides the point.
>I changed the resolution to lowest
You poor, poor sod.

>Hollow Knight Barney nowhere to be seen

Im surprised

>let alone on my i5 and GTX 1070 powered system

>have AMD system
>no issues at all, runs smooth without a single slowdown

not my point which is that this shit is unoptimized as fuck

I'm waiting for my ryzen to arrive but this is unoptimized as fuck

>You poor, poor sod.
doesn't even look bad to me
resolution is still better than high quality anime

tfw i played through the whole game in 960x540

just a guess but

What happened to you is that your ran out of dedicated VRAM, well a certain portion of your RAM is allocated to the integrated graphics, the higher resolution went past this allocated amount and your computer started using your hard drive as VRAM

Is there some trick to getting the grub in the middle of crystal peak, the one with all the crushers surrounding it? Or do I just have to keep trying?
Last one and I can't seem to get it.

go fuck yourself with your hourly hollow shilling

Now that's just rude.
