What do you get out of console war shitposting?
>>386274496
he got your reply. what else he need?
>those comments
>this article is too long so i'll just dismiss all his arguments lol
>b-but it has a feeling of adventure!!
i thought i was having fun but it turned out i was tricked, it's not fun at all
Another botw thread, why is everyone obsessed with this game?
His life has no meaning, a simple (you) gives him purpouse, congratulations on keeping that trash alive
I haven't played much, just got the task to find the 4 npcs. So far, it's been incredibly boring.
Because it isnt multiplat.
Fuck off Sonynygger
overrated is such a stupid word
>these people enjoyed this too much!
Ive never heard anyone talk about botw outside this board or the first month it was out. It is forgettable. Horizon had better gameplay and im a pc master race and even i see the switch as a fail. Garbage in garbage out. Garbage hardware for 2017 and nintendjews still jacked the price up
Nice anecdote
thats a really fucking long article
I wasn't planning on buying a switch, but since there is such a massive hate boner for BotW with no real arguments from Sup Forums im tempted as fuck to buy one.
I'm travelling to japan in february so I'm most likely gonna buy a switch there. Is the system or games region locked or anything like that?
Probably gets paid by the word.
its not region locked but youre silly if you think its any easier to get a switch in japan than where you live
Shipping alone would eat up most of the price. But there are some territories where the switch is excessively expensive so it may balance out.
>on 2 consoles and PC
>not multiplat
what did he mean by this
I live in fucking south america, its everywhere here but the release price for it was between 700 to 800 dollars, and its only gonna go down after MAYBE 2 years. In japan they sell them for 200 or so, so I rather wait and buy it there than wasting up to 500 dollars that I don't have in a console.
I was hoping this article would be less autistic and rambling because there are a lot of valid criticisms about botw. But most people who try to explain them wind up sperging the fuck out.
BotW is just another Skyrim. Now most people praise it but just wait and in some time (one year or two) it will be the most hated Zelda game.
well. The game had a lot of flaws.
Wait no, it's actually around 340~, I was thinking of something else. But yeah its stil around 400 dollars cheaper than buying it here.
Reminder that saying "overrated" is like saying "my opinion is right and yours is wrong", it isn't an argument, so you'll have to do better, sorry!
none those were flaws, they are gameplay mechanics.
>My job here is very simple. I don't have to convince anyone that it's a bad game because it's not. I just have to explain that this isn't some perfect masterpiece that all games need to aspire to be; that it isn't the best game of all time.
lol.
>This game is far too flawed to be getting this level of praise.
The greatest game of all time is too "flawed". This gonna be good.
>he story is so light that it may as well not even be there
Better than every other open world game stories.
>Memories, which feel very much like audio logs
Retarded.
>Breath of Wild has its NPCs, but they are bland and as memorable as my ex-girlfriends' birthdays
Also retarded. In fact, I remember most NPCs in this game.
>On top of lame NPCs and dull side quests, said mini-games are bland and pointless
Retarded again
>The lack of advancement in difficulty and reward is a common theme that plagues Breath of the Wild
You get plenty in reward and you play as the hero so difficulty decreases because you increase in strength. This is obvious when you see Link slaughter enemies in the past. Of course the author wouldn't understand this.
>The runes are not even that interesting
Nostalgia shit talking again. It's far better than anything in past Zelda games and other games which offers nothing like it.
>The Divine Beasts are also nigh indistinguishable from each other
Now I'm not even sure what he's talking about. The divine beast in the desert was the same as one in the sky? Doesn't make any sense.
>The world is wide as an ocean but deep as a puddle
More memes that doesn't mean anything.
>It's time to stop using "open world" and "you can go anywhere" as inherently positive concepts, criticizing anything that is even slightly linear
If you don't want to play an open world game then don't play an open world game, simple as that. The author doesn't know what he's talking about. And he obviously ends it with a pretentious let's "look at flawed games with a critical eye."
>The core concept of "everything happened a long time ago this is just ruins" is a cliche that is rarely interesting (exceptions are Fallout and BioShock).
Opinion instantly discarded for liking the trash that is fallout
I mean there's a few things that I agree with but it's hard to take someone seriously when they write
>Assassin's Creed did climbing much better because you can't just climb whatever flat surface angle at 90 degrees and higher. You have to think about your approach and surmount buildings in specific ways, looking for footholds. In BOTW you just climb straight up nearly any wall without any thought. Being able to climb "anywhere" is not inherently good.
just like star fox zero's control scheme was just a mechanic. Or the law system in tactics advance. Besides, reviews are a flawed concept in general because most criteria is subjective.
...
autism
Considering shit games like Horizon, Uncharted, Rehash Souls etc. keep getting 10/10s, Zelda is still underrated.
The 4 beasts alone were absolutely amazing level design and gameplay, atmosphere, everything. Just a bit short.
...
Wait a second, I think I read the same exact argument on here in one of BotW threads yesterday. Cory, stop shilling your articles on Sup Forums.
>7,031 word article thoroughly dismantles your precious zelda game
>all you can say is 'lol' and 'retarded'
>everyone thinks OP actually hates BotW now
The game is great for going back to its roots. It's a little sad that the 4-5 bosses are generally in the four corners/center of the map.
The game deserves most of the praise it gets. It got talked about a lot also because it was one of the few Switch games out there, if not the first.
It's kind of like saying RE7 is overrated for going back to its roots.
>typical botw shill nonarguments
>damn our site is really slowing down, what should we do?
>I know, we'll make a controversial article against a highly praised game for clicks
Epic
>implying the entire article wasn't the same thing
Sure it was kiddo, sure it was
typical maga-poster rebuttal
God you're pathetic. Have a (you), you poor fuck.
You cannot convince me that BOTW is good, while also saying that all other popular games are bad. That's just you cherrypicking journo reviews when they're convenient for you. I've yet to hear a single BOTW shill explain why pic related isn't an argument.
> Good enough to win game of the year? It will sweep despite superior games like Persona 5, Little Nightmares, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on the market.
Lmao
Holy shit
>Good enough to win game of the year? It will sweep despite superior games like Persona 5, Little Nightmares, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on the market.
>superior games like Persona 5, Little Nightmares, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
>Little Nightmares, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
>superior games
AHAHAHAHAHA HOLY FUCK
That's some good shit, OP. Thanks for the laugh. I also like how he's preemptively getting mad at BotW winning the GOTY.
>The 4 beasts alone were absolutely amazing atmosphere
Literally not. Shared aesthetics, no danger, no story, no relevance to anything. The 4 beasts are the antithesis of atmosphere.
It's a bit overrated. The world feels empty as shit
>> Good enough to win game of the year? It will sweep despite superior games like Persona 5, Little Nightmares, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on the market.
My fucking sides holy shit
He could have an argument with p5 though I'd disagree with him but PUBG and fucking Little Nightmares as GOTY? He must be on drugs.
What the fuck? They had better atmosphere than most Zelda dungeons.
>people are going to be butthurt about BotW as long as people were butthurt about Ocarina
Wait, didn't Destructoid give this game a 10/10?
>this is the kind of delusion we have to argue against
Destructoid was pretty cool at their beginning. Even Sterling couldn't drag them down and now they're total shit. It's such a shame.
Sums it up pretty well. Pretty much every common complaint is written here. Even sums up the general feeling of pretty much everyone who has criticisms about the game but still enjoys it.
>With all the shit I've given this game, you may think I hate it. I don't. It's a good game.
But inb4 nintendys who can't spend even 10 minutes skimming the article before barfing up their "no its 15/10" shitposts.
I've never seen such denial, you should be studied.
What a fucking idiot.
P5 is the best JRPG since Etrian Odyssey 3 but the other two, LOL
>no story, no relevance to anything.
They apart of the story though, there's even a short cutscene with them and the Guardians
twice in fact, for both versions
but different writer
Lol nice trip
Destructoid is more than one person, sweetie.
I wish Nintendo stopped making Zelda games. They always bring the worst spergs ever.
What a butthurt little manbaby.
It keeps happening
pubg and little nightmares do what they set out to do far better than botw without wasting any of your time with padding
It's Sonyegr0 -The Thread. Stay Mad.
Well they only come out every 6 years but I guess that's what we have to deal with.
Isn't Persona 5 an old PS3 game?
They're a lot better than the garbage dungeons from the last few console Zelda games.
Would have been better with some more intimidating enemies though.
>there's even a short cutscene with them and the Guardians
Correct, a short cutscene with no relevance, development, exposition, anything. You might be retarded if you think that passes for story.
>the botw fan thought process
>it's in the game so that means its done well
>there's lots of overworld content so its done well
>there's flurry rush so the game's combat is done well
>there's decision making (never before done in a video game) so it's done better than all games
They're literally the worst four dungeons in series history
BOTW certainly has its faults, but I think the strong points of the game really outweigh the bad.
The world is beautiful, the exploration is fun, there are a shitton of little details in every single part of the game, and the characters are really charming.
The game is probably overrated, but so are a lot of other games, and with BOTW I can definitely see why. Playing the game, knowing very little about it was just breathtaking. The game is fucking ambitious in places no one was expecting, so when you already know what to expect I can see it falling kind of flat.
The fucking game deserves all the awards in the world just for how crazy it is though. There are so many ideas in this game that it genuinely felt like finally playing an important, innovative game again. Getting something like BOTW from a giant and old company like Nintendo is almost unfathomable in 2017.
>destructioid
fucking kek
>Isn't Persona 5 an old PS3 game?
It came out like four months ago.
>divine beasts
>not having atmosphere
they have some of the best use of music in the entire series
why do we need an article telling us the game is bad when we all experienced how bad it was for ourselves?
>Sup Forums always says that there's only 1 million PC users in the world who actually play games, which is why they call them PC fats who over-inflate numbers, everyone else just uses it for fact sheets, or uses macs
>PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds sells 6 million units
>therefore PUBg has a 600% attach rate, beating out BOTW's 100% attach rate
You can't argue with statistics.
I thought it came out in September last year though?
they also try to do much less
>Wind Waker
>Sup Forums always says
there's the problem right off the bat.
>characters are really charming
>shitton of details
>breathtaking, ambitious, important, innovative, buzzword buzzword buzzword
>tfw you always knew BotW was shit and now the public is starting to see
But there was all those things, when you talk to Impa and when you talk to the Zora king, that old ass Goron, that Gerudo and whoever you talk to for the bird guy.
In Japan.
Not an argument.
>they have some of the best use of music in the entire series
I agree but pleb faggots are determined to hate on the divine beasts because they are different compared to other Zelda dungeons.
Meanwhile W3's expansion has 15k lines of dialogue, a full soundtrack thrown in, a 50 hour main story.
BotW has DLC hard mode and a shitty trial that the devs just tells you "do the same thing you've been doing the entire game, only for 45 floors." Must have taken ages for them to do that.
who does these good ass arts
also what is the source of the original images?
But I never said it's better than any other game. Why are you putting words in my mouth?
Persona 5 is like the antithesis to BOTW. It's a game without any ideas and any innovation, but with a lot of polish.
so much overated shit comes out in the past few years but the only one to get a review like this is BotW. It's a 8/10 paraded as a 10/10 and there are a bunch of games that need the similar treatment that will never get it.
quality > quantity
Neither was anything you said, which is why i mocked you
>They're a lot better than the garbage dungeons from the last few console Zelda games
Opposite, tard. Skyward Sword was pretty bad but it had some interesting dungeons; The desert dungeon's iterations were pretty cool with the time mechanic for example. Twilight Princess was bland but still pulled off some cool shit like the Yeti Mansion, and Wind Waker was easy as shit but still had Earth Temple and Forsaken Fortress. These were some standouts, but I'd go so far as to say that 90% of the dungeons in every other console Zelda were objectively better than the 4 beasts.
Omg this happened to me as well. It was really fun but it was all a trick that nintendo played on me.
>Hey there's a beast and it's bad go up this path and kill it please
>x4
Amazing "story"
>15k lines of dialogue
Sounds like a nice movie game I guess
>divine beast music
>good
no
no
>destructoid idots
>the public
>he says while defending Xenoblade
