Was this a good twist?
Was this a good twist?

has there even been another series where the first game was fantastic and the sequels only got worse and worse?
Yes but the remaster ruined it
yes, especially because it took perfect advantage of the medium it was told in
this twist wouldn't work on any other system other than the 3ds, and wouldn't work in a novel or movie/tvshow either
Spoilers my dude
But yeah it was a damn good twist
Why spoil it in the OP
So the dude is a chick?
i dont get it
You (the player) can see yourself reflected on the DS/3DS screen.
...
The dude is form the future and is helping the girl in the past to solve sudoku or something
It only made ztd worse
You really wanna have it spoiled? 999 is a fantastic game. I usually hate these kinds of games but the game has great characters and good pacing, so think hard if you want the whole premise spoiled or not
I still don't get it
Dark Souls.
Metal Gear Solid
Was this a good game?
kill yourself my man
A must play imo
Please do, I know how amazing this game is
But I'm aware of the future games thanks to Sup Forums threads and I have no intention of playing it due to the story line of the later games
I'm with this guy I finished it and I still don't understand wtf was going on.
Kinf of. It's full of plot holes though, like Akane being a siper shifter and Sven's lying(or not)
this is neat, how do you decal your car?
The game has dialogue on the top screen and narration on the bottom.
The pic doesn't mean much if you don't know about that aspect of the game.
You incorrectly assume the narration is the guy's inner monologue.
And that makes all the difference in the world.
Bioshock
So is VLR better or worse? My buddy insists its better but I'm 8 hours in and its kinda boring and poorly made. Then again there haven't been many reveals so far either.
It would have been better off with 2D sprites again instead of the 3D modeling
VLR is arguably better but you have to eat 17 hours of shit first, then you get to the better part.
ZTD was just a huge fucking mistake.
Huh, thats a neat gimmick. Must been a royal pain in the ass to write out in advance to not give it away
The middle drags on a bit because you've seen the events over and over, but the endings are worth it.
To say it's better or worse is a tough call that comes down mostly to personal opinion. Both games are great.
Much better. The only reason why people love 999 so much it's because it was their first Uchi game.
To be fair its not as well done as people here make it out to be, there are plenty of moments where the bottom screen is being used for narration from Junpei's side. Like the elevator scene.
VLR was the only good game in the series.
Am I retarded? I don't get the twist
Is it because I never played the game? I just don't get it, I understand the text in the top screen is dialogue and bottom is narration but I don't understand what's the twist here.
Is it that the guy sees himself as a boy when in reality he's just a crying girl? wtf?
I was so fucking pissed at that. I had been playing for like 10 hours, it was 3am and I just wanted the game to end and then the big twist was that you were controlled by mind ghost of a kid who had trouble solving a fucking sudoku.
Maybe if it wasn't a fucking up-side-down sudoku at the end, I could have accept it, but as it was, it was fucking stupid.
It was stupid anyways.
>Is it because I never played the game?
It's almost like twists require previous knowledge of the work to be effective or something, fucking hack writing if you ask me
>is it because I never played the game?
Yes, yes it is
I didn't like it
VLR Has Luna in it, making it automatically better
yes you did.
I remember when I first played the game I wondered why the narration on the bottom was in third-person.
I sort of just took it at face value and ignored it, thinking there wasn't any deep reason for it. Which ended up making the ending incredibly satisfying once I got to it.
SEEK A DOOR THAT CARRIES A [q]
it proceeds kinda slowly from the start but it's worth it in the end
it's closer to 40 hours long usually
Alright
Junepei the guy is trapped in a saw like style game in the present. The little girl Akane is trapped in the same type of game but in the past. Using quantum tunneling, ESP, and other mcguffins the player subconsciously receives and broadcasts information. In the end he is helping the little girl get out of the puzzle by broadcasting the answer to her. If he fails she will be incinerated. There is also time paradoxes and what not.
>Akane doesn't disappear no matter what
>paradoxes
what
Any time you make the wrong decisions and become "unsynched" Akane's "fever" appears or gets worse. Toward the end of the wrong paths she vanishes. Because she died in the past
VLR was a better game. Better cast, better bulk of the story, and most importantly better puzzles. 999 had a better ending and that's it.
That's just a fan theory. Uchi stated she just jumps to a different timeline.
Better than this literal fucking asspull on par O MY RUBBER NEN.
Uchikoshi says a lot of things.
And he is the writer so I'd rahter take his words as canon.
Actually 999 had 4 scenario writers and I'm pretty sure the actual writer was someone else too.
>Sup Forums unironically loves saw; the game
>same with that danga ronpa shit
fuck Sup Forums
Nice non canon metafiction tou have there bro
>literal fucking asspull
That wasn't even a twist. It was foreshadowed so hard that there was no way anyone could be shocked or surprised at that.
>Is it because I never played the game?
A twist is something that takes previous information and then presents it a new light. Without the knowledge of the previous information, it's not a fucking twist.
Who is the cuckest, Junpei or Huey?
Sigma. He got bullied by a drunk whore.
While it was foreshadowed it is still a huge stretch that Sigma didn't at any point rub his eyes and feel his prosthetic eye, or scratch his head and notice his hair is much longer, or anything.
It's a fun twist but if you think about it, it doesn't hold up.
Valkyria Chronicles
No it isn't retard.
Or hear his own voice changed or older.
Most would say Dead Space, but, personally, I liked 2. But 3 was a total shitshow.
Did you play VC 3? VC 3 is actually the best one and improved many things while also abandoned the high school setting
They would probably say it was the effects of radical 6 but it was still bullshit.
no, it's fucking retarded
Didn't you guys play ZTD? It's pretty clear Signa is legit retarded.
You should actually be happy he didn't shit gimself during VLR.
>Get my friend to finally play 999, he does so on the newer version
>He streams it so I can see how different it is from the original version
>they absolutely butchered the dual screens thing, most players will play on Junpei mode, since it's that by default, and the text covers the sprites on Akane mode, but if you do that you miss over half the fucking writing in the game. He actually didn't use it for a great deal of the beginning of the game, because he didn't start streaming until later
>the voice acting is pretty bad, they wasted Cam fucking Clark on the 9th man, and ZTD Junpei's voice is awkward for him in this game
>They changed the final puzzle, since you can't flip your fuggin' TV upside down, and they replaced it with some boring and easy thing
>My friend thinks it's fine, and that it doesn't matter that they butchered the dual screens thing
>Now he's refusing to play VLR because, and I quote, "the shitty MMD models are making my eyes hurt, and this is giving me a headache"
My fucking face when
999 is the only good one really.
People seem to really like VLR for some reason I can't see why. The main issue I had was that the game ends on such a downer that was obvious sequel baiting that the whole game was ruined for me.
I played 999 and VLR and found both of them amazing with great twists. Then again, I'm easily impressed and cry like a bitch at the smallest things.
so...you are part of the game? Or what
this doesn't make any sense
