Has there really never truly been a vampire hunting video game...

Has there really never truly been a vampire hunting video game? Castlevania is obviously the closest but you don't actually fight many vampires in them besides Dracula. I don't count Vampire Bloodlines because you're a vampire too.

>tfw you just want van helsing some sub humans
We well never get a good vampire hunting game

skyrim with that one dlc of you're desperate

Castlekinomanialudo

Ironically the most vampire-hunting
-centric Castlevania is Lords of Shadow 1 for the second third of the game alone. There are a shitton of vampire mooks, three higher-ranked vampires, and then finally what's basically electric girl-Dracula at the top of the castle.

Soul reaver??? U kill a lot of vampires

What about movies?

there's a lot but OP wants vidya

you're a vampire ghost zombie yourself

>Castlevania is obviously the closest but you don't actually fight many vampires in them besides Dracula

Nigga what. You fought fuckloads of vampires across all of the castlevania games.

I know what I'm watching tonight. Thanks for the inspiration.

What? No you don't. There's a tiny number of actual vampires in the whole series and they're all heavy hitters and not common enemies.

The DLC where you are forced to baby sit some vampire mary sue instead of cutting her head off the second you see her eyes?

Not that user, but i don't think castlevania games are good vampire hunting games, hard to explain but they never make me feel like a vampire hunter at all.

the majority of that list are the Castlevania 64 vampires

While it's true that they aren't good vampire hunting games in the sense that the vampies you do find tend to be kind of just thrown at you, you still fight a fair amount of them. I would love a vampire game with the equivilent prep/customization of a monster hunter game though.

That eye change was fucking stupid.
>everyone can see you're obviously a vampire
>no one straight up attacks you on sight for it

I thought The Order was gonna be a vampire hunting game but it's just stupid werewolves. Didn't even finish it.

why is Tarkin killing Dooku?

>hunting vampires

Fuck off.

assmad bloodsucker

...

To help him become with the Force

"Fair amount" my ass. You fight almost none in any single Castlevania game. The n64 games and LoS1 are the only ones that really emphasize them as enemies.

*almost any

Why would you want to hunt vampires when playing as one is much more fun?

Basically if you're a "hunter" all you do is walk around and shoot your guns or use shitty gimmicks, when you play as a vampire you have fucking magic, superhuman strength, agility and theoretically immortal.

Half of all protagonists who battle vampires in fiction are vampires themselves

youtube.com/watch?v=cpQ7UQxEe_E

They are usually halfbreeds, but still regular humans I'm pretty sure outnumber those

>fight
op said hunt, you spend all of the castlevania games hunting vampires.

Witcher

You know you're being disingenuous.

im really not though, you as a vampire hunter are hunting the vampire and fight his many minions along the way.

there is a game called nosferatu wrath of malachi

>I would love a vampire game with the equivilent prep/customization of a monster hunter game though.
This, so much

You didn't even read the post I was replying to, which specifically talked about fighting vampires.

There's that Van Helsing game

I hate this
>i am a vampire but a cool dude too XDDD
>i am a half breed so i care about humans but i will never show it XDD

Did somebody say vampires?

that trope doesn't appear outside pulp, so maybe stop reading pulp if you don't like it

Blood Rayne

God that's an old meme. Still funny though.

the dick never sleeps

Closest thing you'll find is Soul Reaver. Technically the main character isn't even a vampire anymore, hes more of a ghost. Pretty much every enemy in the game belongs to some kind of vampire clan.

Why does everyone in old movies overact so much?

Yeah really, when I went to see the latest Marvel movie with my wife's son the acting was much better

The OP doesn't look like overacting.

Because people was still mostly trained for theater where you need to be highly histrionic or the audience does not see shit

How is a vampire supposed to act when being subjected to an agonizing death?

he's supposed to pixelize right out of there in vague bat shapes duh

I liked how you actually had to stake, burn or behead vampires to finish them off or else they'll get back up (much like Soul Reaver). Usually you have to stun them first but as you get better moves you can stake them mid combo or with a well timed counter. Shit was pretty in-depth for a licensed game.

Why go through all that effort of picking up those lamp posts when he could just make a cross with his fingers?
How the fuck does anyone get killed by a vampire if they can just make a cross with their fingers and bop the dumbo over the head

Maybe it has to be a physical object and it can't be a person doing a gesture?

Well what the fuck is giving the power to vanquish the vampire if not personal faith in the cross?
If it's just physical objects that are shaped like a cross then vampires would literally die at the sight of a 't'
