It's another useless bitch NPC taking all the credit for the work done by the player

>It's another useless bitch NPC taking all the credit for the work done by the player

Why do developers do this? First it was that useless fuck salad in Guild Wars and now this autistic bitch.

Because they can't marker the player character as the poster-NPC for marketing.

Lyse did less than M'Naago in the MSQ.

should've joined the empire

At least Lyse still did a lot more than Y'shtola. :^)
scions were a mistake, Minfilia and the other echo users died for nothing.

Blame that old man Conrad, it was all part of his plan. Lyse was the perfect banner for his rebellion.

dont bully the blind girl

so is the story actually good, because i've been delivering tea to random soldiers

The overall arcs and a lot of moments are great, but all the filler bullshit really drags it down.

...

God damn that raid is so poorly designed

...

But Minfilia was also a useless sack of shit

...

It's a lot more fun when people were closer to the intended ilvl, it just has way too many damn cutscenes.

This is scary accurate

>Wants to be your student cause you are literally the best Dragoon in the land, second only to Estinien
>Almost as soon as you start teaching her she runs off and attacks a dragon without waiting for back up or asking your opinion
>You find her after she suffered the consequences of her foolish hot headed actions
>Completely rejects you telling her to go take a breather cause she's completely fucked up
>You become just another messenger boy while she is the main character of the questline
The very first student you get and she's complete garbage as a student.

>yfw Shinryu Ex could have a third phase and it got a new arrangement of the Stormblood theme

It was their first big, major dungeon, and it was also a huge story point, so it was very shaky, but it had a lot of really fucking cool moments, and they clearly learned their lesson as they don't load cutscenes into dungeons like that anymore

I like the story. Theres a lot of slow moments, but it's an MMO, so it's understandable that every moment can't be full plot. Also it feels really nice even many hours into the game, to see my character being part of the cutscenes and interacting with the NPCs, making me really feel like part of the story.

Fastest way to farm poetics?

HNNNNNNGHH

The inverse is a character so overpowered in the lore leading everything that it doesn't make sense why they don't just solo every big bad. See World of Warcraft and Thrall, Khadgar and now Illidan.

>Susan's ex again through raidfinder
>queue for clear
>that one sprout Au Ra male DRK from friday is in the group
>the one who hasn't even touched this EX back then
>we wipe a few times and he's the one who complaints the loudest
>we realize he has speelspeed and dexterity materia on his gear
>he's french and so is the female Au ra NIN who has speelspeed materia too
>she constantly fucks something up
>vote abandon
>queue again five minutes later
>after 15 it pops again
>both frenchies back
>we wipe severals times
>that DRK still complaints the loudest
>NIN still a shitter
>DRK says that he at least has materia, unlike all of us
>despite only one having no materia and people cleared this shit with worse gear
>after two failed attempts, we vote abandon

and then

>it's a that one femc Au Ra DRK who joins a Susano EX clear group that is open for everyone thus not locked to cleared only then complaints about DPS being below "SVG dpscheck" after the clear despite DPS itself never being a problem but people fucking up and dying episode

Just what is it with some lizards?

Lol no it's cheesy as fuck. The main villain is the epitome of nothing personnel kid.

I wonder what Fray would say...

>Another arrangement of the stormblood theme
Yeah that's we need even more of.

This is your tank tonight

STORM OF BLOOD
BORN FROM BLOOD
OF OUR FALLEN BROTHERS

Fray best boy

>tank
>clearly a caster

Would not {Protect}

>Caster
>Clearly my paid escort

Guild Wars 1 did this too with that useless bitch Kormir

>its a paladin big pulls but stick with rage of halone episode

Brd do i meld dh after crit?

This is your duty tonight
How can white mages even compare

>Brd
do whatever the fuck you want

I queue for First Coil. There are quite a few new people and you get 110 poetics each run.

WHAT IS THE 4.X TRIAL SITUATION LOOKING LIKE

WHAT DO I HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO WHEN 4.1 DROPS

WHEN ARE WE GONNA GET TEASINGS ALREADY

I NEED TO KNOW WHAT'S NEXT

shirogane housing

CRIT > DET > DH

>What do I have to look forward to in 4.1?
MCH being left with a more boring rotation than SCH.

>WHEN ARE WE GONNA GET TEASINGS ALREADY
Most likely at Gamescom later this month.

It feels like there should've been more of her story.

It feels like there should've been more of her booty

Seeing this pretty often, is there a source on this?

Is the Balmung/Gilgamesh restriction lifted yet?

If not, is there any news on when it will be?

Why the fuck do people say the story is good, then? Am I just wasting my time

at least she wasnt a minute mount run and behind two loading screens

>Doesn't rhyme
>Thinks rhyming is stupid

Honestly? I don't know. It's tropey as fuck and Zenos is embarrassing. Some parts are enjoyable but it's a minority.

What do I meld as healer? Just Piety?

Question:
Would you do old dungeons/raids if you get synced to that level statewise but you can use all your lvl70 skills? All skills above the sync level are heavily nerfed though.

Ravana vs Zurvan vs Thordan vs Susano
No holds barred cage match to the death
Who wins

>Gamescom
I forgot that was a thing. And it happens about the end of the summer event, huh?

Thordan if he gets his knights of the round to back him up.

What's all this shit about melding? Where's the reddit guide for this already? I don't want to have to figure this out.

Yes. Some jobs are a fucking chore without their 60+ skills. DRK especially. Holy fuck they gutted DRK pred 60.

The warrior of light got acknowledged. There wasn't a real crowd available to cheer even for Lyse after it all, she just took command in the region to build.

Why even bother posting?

>First it was that useless fuck salad in Guild Wars
>first
Did you even play the Oliriginal Guild Wars retard?

Event ends on the 18th and GC is begins 22nd, IIRC.
There's also the XIV anniversary event to look forward to.

Thats how all synced shit should work. Lower the levels and stats, but keep the skills, some classes are fucking crippled at early levels and it just becomes unfun, which prevents some people from helping with lower level duties because they don't wanna slog through that shit.

Thordan's knights are a bunch of pussies. Susano would thrash those fuckers with ease.

...

How are you gonna handle it when it becomes a boss fight eventually?

I'll just assume Gamescom will be the big event where they announce all that. It'll be 2 months since SB launched as well. I still remember EA like it was yesterday.

there is if you play machinist

I would pay to see a duel between Ravana and Susano.
Both desiring combat, but what would win in a battle of ideals between glory and joy?

Restriction is still up and will likely not go away for at least a month or so after Shirogane housing is implemented. That seems the most logical time, anyway.

There's only one way.

Fighting on a speeding train track?

>locke and edgar in the party

>Reach the point in Heavensward when the troubles in Ul'Dah are wrapped up
>Still pissed off about Lolorito pretty much assisting in accusing the scions and the WoL for assassinating Nanamo, despite saying he was working to save her the fucker is still partially responsible for the Scions being scattered and lost and the WoL having to hide in Ishgard
>Story make it so the characters all forgive and forget Lolorito's bullshit
>Get really angry because I want my fucking payback on the little shit
>Suddenly realize this fits perfectly into the Dragonsong plot, and ironically enough, im placed in a similar position of thirsting for vengeance when peace can be achieved instead
Ya fucking got me

My guess is something like how Alexander was handled.
He'd be a raid, with each tier being a different car, working your way up to the head.

Wouldn't that be hard to do as a story quest over a period of time? Like in-game story time.

>Picking your Blitz from a menu

You fight on top of him.
The duty button will be duck to dodge tunnels.

Maybe each car is a different duty, and the story involves you having to reach each train depot before Doomtrain hits it so you can hop on and destroy the car, and each time he loses speed and power, until you finally hijack a Garlean train to ride in front of Doomtrain and fight it as you both speed down the rails, like the Bismark fight, but with Doomtrain chasing behind you instead of flying next to you

Doomtrain was already referenced as a Garlean supply train.

I'm getting excited.

In game? Where?

It probably gets harder when you get to the bleeding edge endgame primals but at level 50 stuff tanking really isn't as tricky as some of those fucks make it out to be.
>keep an eye on aggro, don't pull stacks bigger than you can handle, remember to use cooldowns
>keep boss aggro and don't fuck up mechanics, be ready to swap aggro if need be in an 8-man

>and interacting with the NPCs, making me really feel like part of the story.

I really like that part when he says nothing and nods his head

That's how to play correctly, but it's not optimal.
In savage mode raids you're expected to be out of tank stance about 90% of the time if not more. You have to learn how to grab and maintain aggro through a fight while being in tank stance as little as possible to optimize damage.
It's not a big deal if you aren't planning on doing anything on the bleeding edge of content, but at that point it's definitely expected.

It's better than nothing. I don't play other MMOs, but do any other bother to include the player this much into the story? Does WoW include you in the story beyond standing around watching others do the story work?

Should i even be trying to make money while i level crafting and gathering?

i mean it takes all my time but so far its eating all my funds too, i slap a moogle weapon on the board every now and again to keep myself about 1m

>been learning Susano EX for the past few weeks
>thought it was the easier of the two because it was top of the RF list
>just found out today Lakshmi is the easier one

>taking weeks to learn any primal

I want to fuck her tits

The Secret World does.
Your character even autisticly nods and makes dumbass facial expressions.

Is it like a forward nod or the head tilt to the side like ff14

I really like the head tilt in ff14

If you're leveling gathering, sell low level mats in large numbers, it won't make a lot of money, but it's practically guaranteed pocket change. I can make about 20-30k for a full stack of Alumen on my server. As for crafting, it's not really a money maker till max level, unless you sell to people directly and not on MB. You can make some good money I imagine selling low level HQ gear to newbies, or outfitting your FC mates for a fee.

>past few weeks
lmao

>do Ravana for the first time
>only sprout in the party
>ask if there's anything I need to know
>silence
>start fight
>get pushed off the ledge halfway through

I played Secret World, and the one thing I remember majorly from the story was a scene in the desert where some soldiers were holding off undead, taking cover behind a rock, and my character runs up, grabs a gun, hops behind a rock and takes aim, talks to the NPC for a little bit, then drops the gun and leaves.

I get really nervous. When I'm waiting for a mechanic to start or when a phase changes or anything. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest. And then I get anxious thinking about queuing or joining PFs.

At least you got pushed. I fought Ravana for the first time, and about a third of the way into the fight I used Elusive Jump to avoid an AoE and jumped right off the platform.

>Been gone for 3 weeks and finally decide to get around to doing Lakshmi ex
>Join a clear group having never tanked it before, kill it on 2nd attempt even though there were about 6 deaths

Honestly one of the easiest extreme primals I've done in the whole game, all it really boils down to is if she's chanchala'd and gonna do an attack that will hit you, use vril. Just vril it all.

>You have to learn how to grab and maintain aggro through a fight while being in tank stance as little as possible to optimize damage.
I've actually been doing that a bit since I rolled a WAR and aside from aggro and making the healer's mana go a a bit farther there isn't much of a point to tank stance. Maybe the scaling changes it but there doesn't seem much to it at this level.

FF XI's main story was good because you never had shit hijacked by NPCs.

They were always there to help you and you got the credit you deserved
