Game stops being fun when you get too powerful

>game stops being fun when you get too powerful

What's her name, Sup Forums?

nier automata
fallout 4

All of them.

Every RPG ever if you minmax

Pretty much all of them that it's possible to happen in unless you are a storyfag or someone with insecurity issues.

This, but only if we draw a distinction between getting powerful and getting good.

The better question is what game gets more fun when you get too powerful. I'm drawing blank.

DMC, you start with a tiny fraction of your moveset and have to unlock the rest.

I was gonna say shadow of mordor but then i remembered it just went from easy early game to insultingly simple late game.

GTA online

Metroidvania games and games like Bayonetta and Devil may Cry. RTS games if we're strictly talking about singleplayer campaigns and pretend the MP doesn't exist.

fallout new vegas specifcally. i was constantly looking for a new challenge. not to be that guy but i was like Zodd from berserk i was looking for something that was stronger than me that could kill me. kill the legendary nest of deathclaws by myself, throw all my drugs and stims in the river like im fucking rober downey jr. i kill every single npc without healing just to see if i can do it. my courier went on a genocidial rampage of the nevada. he still stands there today. alone.

RPGs. Slaying hordes of enemies with ease is a good feeling.

It not overleveling that is the problem, it's the fucking ring and how you can one shot just about everything

Prototype
Unlock more stuff to do.

Infamous

Overwatch
I'm getting gold elims and damage every game, no one puts up a good fight

Persona 5 got that way for me, mainly due to the OP as fuck confidant abilities. I got to the space dungeon and gave up the game because it was easy to the point of being boring

Open World games like GTA, rampaging is fun.

luv dem superpower games
wish there was more shit to do once you had all the cool powers tho

good job buddy!!!!

I get this feeling in most games with level/gear or similar power systems.
A lot of the joy in these games for me is the powering-up process. Finding better gear, gaining levels and abilities etc. So once I've got them all I don't really know what else to do.

prototype
fallout 4 power armor with the radio on full blast

>Stops being fun when you get too powerful

This is a thing?
Absolutely fucking nuking everything after leveling up is literally the most satisfying thing in the world.

If I'm not completely fucking decimating every single enemy I come across, THEN it's not fun.

HoI4

civilisation

Literally every game ever

I always find the beginning struggle so much more interesting than the rest, so I often find myself quitting midgame, or half-heaetedly rushing to the end so I can at least say I beat it.

This is why a lot of Survival games exist now a days really.
They try to keep you in hobophase forever.
When you eventually feel comfortable in your means you feel accomplished.

Its the opposite for me, if I am not curbstomping all my problems I get this strange feeling that most of the time causes me to restart

Almost all games are like this.

I barely do NG+ anymore in souls for example

Breath of the Wild, or at least the durability system becomes less strategic and more incredibly tedious.

Best part of the game is the beginning, when the regular orcs are still a threat and roving captains can show up at any time. Every bit of progress makes things more boring until you're not even bothering to fight any more.

Then just don't use it lol

I remember having a lot of fun in Kotor 2 because dark side force users can get really bullshit powerful.

I mean you have two AOE attacks that have no limits on the number of targets and one of them draws health from every single person, meaning the more people you fight at once the stronger you get and I remember having a really powerful single target power.

I'm a minmax autist and this sometimes impedes my enjoyment of RPGs. I always start very weak and struggle through the first third of the game then become completely OP.

Almost every game? Challenge is needed for a game to be fun.

Well you're playing Germany like an easymode fagot, so big surprise
