What race do you usually make your toon?

My race is Stealth Archer

>toon
Stop.

altmer

>the greatest Elder Scrolls game: Oblivion
>Oblivion

false, it's TESO

I've never played Oblivion but all i see are screenshots for this city. Are there really not other interesting locations beside this one?

DESU the imperial city was my least favourite.

If there's one thing that Oblivion does well it's having /comfy/ towns. Especially when modded.

If it was a single fuckhuge city it would have been great.

For minmaxing a warrior, Redguard, otherwise I pretty much always roll Imperial. They feel like the jack of all trades that can be molded into whatever, plus they're pretty aestheic.

>Less content.
>Repeating story line with Oblivion gates.
>Interesting quests but easily doable within 80 hours.
>Main quest 30 hours if you take your time with it.
>YOU ARE CHAMPION OF CYRODIIL
>Expansion debatable as to whether or not it is better than main story line.
>Watered down mechanics to make room for 'better' combat mechanics compared to Morrowind.
>World is generic and uninspired compared to Morrowind.
>Equipment is cut down to make 'less' pieces of armor and ability to customize character.
>Enchanting is simplified to stupid levels.
>World levels with you.

Don't get me wrong I really liked Oblivion and played the shit out of it. But the best? Are you one of those guys that simply couldn't play Morrowind because they hated the combat?

>tfw you don't mind that the graphics look like ass
all I need is Jeremy's OST

>easily doable within 80 hours
wow! almost nothing!!>YOU ARE CHAMPION
You are not. You BECOME the grand champion of Cyrodiil.

As opposed to
Nerevarine the god?

Morrowind could easily engross you in 300 hours of individual quests let alone the giant story line.

>World levels with you.
This is bad but could be good if some other game did it right.
>You train and git gud
>At most your stats get 75% higher at level 100
>However, you have a lot of little things and skills you can use.
>Goblins and bandits aren't stronger, but they tend to appear in greater numbers and sometimes with a miniboss.

>finally find a fort that's appropriate for my level
>medium sized room with a small pool of water in the middle
>see a patrol upcoming on the other side, sneak past on shallow water
>slip down into the deep water and break stealth
>patrol spots me and rushes towards me
>no idea how strong he'll be since humanoids vary so much in diffiulty
>fuck this, dive into the water and start dealing with the slaughterfish
>patrol dives in after me and starts waving his weapon around
>no choice but to attack him, he dies surprisingly easily since he was apparantly already on low hp
>your killing has been observed by unknown forces
>wut
>notice afterwards that it was a friendly adventurer who had dived in to assist me vs the slaughterfish
f-fug, sorry. At least he dropped a bigger backpack for me. Also got pranked pretty hard by a mimic.

The problem with a lot of RPGs is that they focus on vertical growth rather than horizontal growth. So the difference between a level 1 and level 100 character is enormous in terms of effectiveness even though they are both performing essentially identical actions. In a better system, that level 100 character would have more tools/abilities at his disposal and lethality remained to a degree such that it was valuable to employ them.

Nehrim is better

>toon
Kill yourself.

...

...

there's really nothing standout or interesting about the game at all, it's just adequate

...

Did you seriously just tell someone to commit suicide because they used a single word you don't like?
What is wrong with you?

Different user, but you should probably kill yourself too.

What the hell did Viper mean by this?

Is he now part of the Black Hand?

Morrowind is great but to be honest almost half of the main quest is "travel literally everywhere and talk to literally everyone"

What compels people to say things like that to strangers?

My issue with Morrowind isn't the combat, in fact it's an issue that can be leveled at Oblivion and even to a lesser extent Skyrim as well, my issue is NPC's just seem to do...nothing. In oblivion sure they didn't do much either but it felt like more of them wandered a bit more, and in Skyrim they actually interacted with the world a bit and with a mod like Immersive Citizen's they actually behave pretty decently.

Granted the point is kind of moot now a days since Morrowind has mods for that that both adds more NPC's doing things and/or makes the ones in the game interact with the world and do a bit more, and shit like Silt Riders actually moving around on the roads. Points also a bit moot when I love both.

Stupid autist

Because they're strangers

Skyblivion when

Why? You going to have a point or just spout memes at me?

It's time to talk about the greatest rpg ever made

My main character is always a Breton mage.

main toon*

>that texture stretching

Holy shit someone needs to learn how to UVmap a rectangle

what's your best ENB? I was trying Cyrodiil ENB but it breaks my game and it thinks I have a GeForce 9600GT installed somehow

That's what Skyrim's perk system, and various perk mods, try to do. Oblivion had some of that as well, like when you got new weapon attacks at certain skill milestones or could move at full speed in heavy armor once your heavy armor skill was high enough.

whatever. the author fucked up the enseries.ini file. I fixed it setting ForceNVidiaCard=false

They want them to kill themselves

Skyrim's perks are still too focused on generic damage increases/reductions. And the general level system still involves inflating your primary stat pools as much as possible. The difference between a level 1 and level 50 character is still immense. The former can't hope to defeat the latter.

Games like Deus Ex do a better job of increasing utility as you level rather than simply making all your attacks do exponentially more damage. You're largely as vulnerable to enemies as you were at the beginning of the game. Your improved abilities simply give you more options in dealing with more difficult encounters.

Skyrim has some interesting perks, but they're in the minority. Most of the perks are just 20/40/60/80/100% increased efficiency with weapon type X or spell type Y.

Well, to be honest I should try it on PC with mods one of these days.
Is there some kind of Megamod like whats available for morrowind ?

awful graphics. try playing this game again. your hardon for this game is based purely on nostalgia

My hardon for this game has literally nothing to do with the graphics.

I want to know this aswell

There's some sort of downloadable FCOM

Modded Oblivion looks alright senpai, good enough to enjoy.

And contrary to popular belief from plebs who don't know how to properly mod, performance can be kept smooth enough as well.

The ones I know are Oscaro's Oblivion Overhaul and Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul (which happened to be compatible). Supposedly there's also FCOM but I don't know what the abbreviation stands for. Realistic Leveling does away with the awful leveling system, provided that you get something like OOO that also does away with scaled mobs.

...

...

mods do not count

Is there a quick setup guide for plebs?
>inb4 demwaifusl

Sorry, I just turned 18 and I'm trying to kick old habits

>elder scrolls
>mods don't count

Utter bollocks, why the fuck would ANYBODY play TES games without mods when theyre so easily available? the entire point of the series is to mod them to your taste.

This is a great list to follow

>install basic utilities likes OBSE, OBMM and Wrye Bash
>realize modding is nowhere near as overwhelming as it seems

High elf, obviously

This image really helped in making my Stealth Archer build.

because you kiss your dad on the lips dude, kill yourself.
