I've been itching for a new shooter lately and this didn't cross my mind until last night. downloaded the trial, had a lot of fun playing the campaign, but there wasn't an option to try out multiplayer, which is really what I'm looking for.
Gabriel Hill
buy it. git gud.
Ayden Smith
I mean, getting gud is always the goal.
I'm going to play through the campaign again and really focus on the gameplay, just to help solidify my decision.
Parker Sanchez
The campaign was not bad, better than the last CoD. It kinda ended in the same way though but the journey was more fun. I think the wall running puzzles annoying but kind of fun as it's own thing. Graphics a re nice.
Remember when we laughed at that one game that had a 6 hour campaign. This is the 6 hour campaign that feels like it's 6 hours too long.
Daniel Rivera
Ignore this retard. It's the best SP campaign in an FPS for a long time.
Juan Fisher
It's fantastic, but your late to the party. I'd also consider grabbing Lawbreakers, Doom, or Splatoon 2. Titanfall 2 has a great singleplayer campaign to boot and mechs.
Isaac Gomez
It's without a doubt one of if not the best game to come out last year, and the playerbase is still going strong, especially after the update that brought a lot of new players to the game.
>Lawbreakers >Literally Battleborn 2
Brayden Taylor
The multiplayer's fun OP but the only mode you'll get to play is Attrition, all of the other modes take too long to find a match in. That's been my experience on PC anyway, but luckily I don't mind Attrition that much at all.
I think the weapons and progression systems could be more varied, though. Most people will use the same top tier weapons no matter what
Jack Hughes
>tfw slow
Luke Nelson
>I think the wall running puzzles annoying but kind of fun as it's own thing.
I actually really enjoyed that aspect.
I'm more concerned about multiplayer though. I remember the first one let you play multiplayer through it's limited trial and I do recall enjoying it, but it was a few years ago.
Late? But it's not even a year old.
Doom looks interesting but Titanfall more-so.
And Splatoon 2?!? Kneegrow, what made you think that was even an option?
Blake Gray
LB plays nothing like BB, it's actually more akin to nuDoom with Splatoon loadouts and flying mechanics.
Not really late, but there are a lot of options for arena shooters. Grab Titanfall 2 then, I said it was fantastic.
Jace Walker
user, you might know a thing or two about titanfall, but you literally know fuck all about other games, apparently
Jason Roberts
I think user is referring to the fact that it's another hero-based FPS that's already destined to be stillborn on release going by the beta player numbers, not that they're functionally identical games
Ayden Gutierrez
This
Anthony Sanders
The major playerbases for these things are already set, and Titanfall 2 is not a major accomplishment financially. If you are trying to play a shooter outside of Overwatch, CSGO, or CoD then you most likely don't give a shit about playerbases or your just looking to bait. Regardless Titanfall 2 is a great game and Lawbreakers looks pretty fun too.
Camden Wilson
Thinking Lawbreakers looks fun to play isn't going to stop it from being stillborn on release, user. The beta numbers speak for themselves
Daniel Clark
Point taken.
Adam Ross
Luckily I'm grabbing it on PS4 so this won't be an issue. Even Evolve and Battleborn still have matches going on consoles. Sadly Steam users have access to playerbase numbers and it's easily been the cause of death for many online games. Either way I hope you have fun playing whatever games you play this week.
Josiah Johnson
Sup Forums doesn't merit games on how well they play mechanically. Only on how popular it is and who the fanbase is
Evan Perry
Its a dead game. Move on to something else
Parker Price
Like what?
Michael Bailey
splatoon 2 is a good multiplayer game unless you're just a non-idort console warring scum
Oliver Cooper
I don't own a switch and never gave the impression that I did.
Jason Thomas
>Implying Not even the first game is dead yet. You can find matches easily.
Aiden Collins
Just got added to origin access. So if you have 5 dollars to spare you can try the multiplayer and cancel if it doesn't interest you
Justin Cruz
not a dead game but it is literally and unironically >reddit: the game
it is shilled all the time on r/games and r/gaming and the reddit clan is the largest in the game.
so go ahead and buy it you redditcuck
Adam Cook
Amazing game
Leo Kelly
>he doesn't enjoy demolishing redditfags with the STIFF
Jayden Powell
It's not a reddit game. It's a game where you get to destroy reddit shitters left and right. It's a plus.
Thomas Foster
>le memestiff xDDD back to r/titanfall kiddo do you use le ebin spicybois to?
Nathaniel Reyes
>knows what subreddits the game is shilled on >calls other people 'redditcuck'
I think that's the true irony here.
Leo Jenkins
Pc is the least populated platform so no surprises here, the game still peaks at 9 to 10k players at times and you can find bounty hunt matches there no problem.
>Even Evolve
That game has like 100 players max, and im probably extrapolating it, but they probably have played against each other enough to have formed a family by now
Brandon Campbell
This, pay $5 and try it out, if you decide you like it you can pick it up and you'll still have access to all the other shit it gives you for the rest of the month sub
Parker White
>Legionfall 2
James Murphy
>dead game not at all
Ayden Torres
It's a fantastic game, I bought it on release and played it for about 20 hours, then forgot about it due to other games coming out. I recently picked it up again and I'm having a blast, takes under a minute to find a game, I just queue for mixtape as I don't have a preference for any modes as long as it's not last titan standing.
Try it out OP, going fast is super fun once you chain wallruns together and dunk people that can't go as fast.
Tyler Collins
the multiplayer is pretty good, vastly improved from the original
just get ready to get paired up against Generation 50 guys because the playerbase isnt that big
Adam Foster
It's frustrating seeing the same faggots in every lobby on PC even when I don't play for a few days.
Jack Campbell
I enjoy it now that there's a PvE and I'm not playing against people that know every map backwards and forwards at max level.
It was good on launch too, but then I stopped playing and everyone else got ahead of me.
Jose Wilson
Especially when you're in the top 3 so often people recognise you and make it their mission to try and kill you and tea bag whenever they're in a game with you.
Jaxson Garcia
You know it.
Parker Perry
I hated it personally. Story's alright but forgettable. Multiplayer is a ghost town and I don't enjoy it. You can't customize titans, only pick from preset loadouts. The match times are way way too short for anything interesting to happen. The gun play might make sense to some people but it's pure bananas to me. It's by a huge margin the twitchiest twitch shooter I've ever played. Worse than hardcore cod back in the day.
Ethan Adams
>Multiplayer is a ghost town >[citation needed]
Julian Cox
Good luck playing anything but attrition. I prefer objective based games, ctf, domination, etc. In order to do that you have to set up private lobbies and spam invites, and even then the game times are so fucking short nothing has time to happen.
Henry Hernandez
Even at non-peak times PC will still get 3,000-4,000 players. Saying the gunplay is too in-depth for you to get a grip on isn't really a good criticism either. git gud
Dominic Reed
Thank god for being a consoletard. I can still get those modes pretty easily on xbawks.
Daniel Wilson
4k players on PC, 14k on xbox, 14-15k on PS4
That is more than enough in today's market to be considered a decent hit, enough to justify DLC and a sequel.
It actually has more players than the latest call of duty, so lmao.
Lincoln Gray
>I prefer objective based games, ctf Good luck having fun with those without a fastguy ruining your day.
Brayden Brown
It's really good, I had a blast with the campaign and the multiplayer's good too. I should really play it more often tbqh, especially now that scorch got buffed
Grayson Evans
I play with attrition, amped points, LTS, CTF, and Live Fire on the playlist and honestly the one I get the least is LF but I'm really starting to dislike CTF when at launch it was my favorite mode.
Juan Howard
It's not "in depth" by any stretch of the imagination. It's just pure twitch luck cross mapping with smgs and connection time wins. My point was they all play the same from pistols to sniper rifles despite allegedly having different stats. There's no accuracy penalty or distance drop everyone just sprays and prays the recoil gods smile on them and give them a vertices climb to a headshot.
I can appreciate it when someone does some crazy shit and slides into the room 360 no scoping everyone, but that's rarely the case.
Ian Reyes
I got the game on PC day one but the match times to get variety in game modes is suffering. Might get it on ps4
Lincoln Wright
This is my point kinda. All the game types just devolve into attrition with a distraction on the side, or someone goes pure objective and it's over before it begins. Idk if that's map size or movement speed or what but it's terrible. I had fun playing objectives in titanfall 1. Not so in 2.
Isaac Gutierrez
why do you post that? it's as easy as binding crouchjump to a macro and pressing the boost ability key
Hunter Wright
if you liked the campaign you are going to love the fucking multiplayer which is the real meat and potatoes of the game. they just added a free co op mode too which is addictive like crack. this is the best shooter out there and is dirt cheap right now due to poor sales yet it's still as active as any top selling shooter I've played and all the non cosmetic DLC is free with regular updates even now. they are always adding new maps and stuff.
Chase Bennett
That's what I'm on. And it's just spam invites. They updated lobbies recently to let you pick and chose your game types but I'm over it by now anyway and can't justify file size.
Adam Thompson
Late? don't listen to this buffoon the community is very active. I always get full lobbies instantly and just a week ago they added more maps and a free co op mode. get it
Isaiah Foster
PS4 is active as fuck but I agree if you hit find game theres a 99% chance you are getting attrition which is okay because it's basically the definitive multiplayer mode anyhow.
Lucas Lewis
>tfw dealt 320,000 damage in Frontier Defense
Daniel Hughes
Try over 500,000
Ian Taylor
I wish this meme would die, I have never once had a problem getting a full lobby instantly. it may not have millions of players but you can always get a multiplayer game at any time of the day. if a game has a million versus a couple thousand active players it's not going to make a difference to a gamer who just wants to play a game. either way he's going to hit connect and the lobby will fill. this game has really good matchmaking.
Owen Williams
How'd you manage that? I've been buying nothing but nuke rodeos but if there's a better way to rack up damage I'll be all over it.
Brody Baker
>How'd you manage that? It's quite simple. First, you SWORD CORE ACTIVATED Then you become top score every game.
Easton Turner
Well I'm not ditching my boy Scorch to weeb it up
Christopher Lopez
Alt tabbed from it right now
It's the best game of 2016 easily. It's just so fucking fun. High skill ceiling with mechanical weapons and robots.
Brody Martin
as long as there ain't no Tones around
Ryder Perez
Ronin counters Tone easily. His Arc Wave instantly deletes her shield, and phase dash evades her missiles. Her kit is pretty much shit without the shield.
Anthony Carter
naw that paper tiger gets wrecked by Tones railgun before it gets into range. arc wave is easily dodgable.
Cooper Evans
>implying I let fedora Ronins get in range to use that shit in the first place
Ethan Roberts
If this game didn't have hitscan it would be literally perfect
Levi Taylor
Tone uses a 40mm autocannon. The railgun belongs to Northstar, and Northstar can wreck any titan easily as long as they're not in her face, which is what Ronin does
Ronin is pretty maneuvarable. He can get in your face pretty quickly if he has Sword Core on, since it basically gives him Dash Core along with it.
Sebastian Robinson
okay I stand corrected on the railgun part but Ronin doesn't have a lot of armor. Ronin domnates at close range but you need to be able to survive long enough to get that sword core charged. I take down Ronins all the time I mean of course skill is a factor but a weaboo Noob in a Ronin is a Tone mains target practice.
Liam Myers
His lack of armor is compensated by his speed, which requires smart play in order to succeed with him. He's a hit-and-run titan, not really meant to tank damage upfront. He's best played for rushing in, doing burst damage, then dashing back to cover. His sword block reduces damage taken by 65% (85% with Sword Core on), which also increases his survivability in combat. The problem is that there's way too many edgy shitters giving Ronin a bad rep. He's great for dealing damage and being 2fast. I really wish weebs would stop using him because a titan wielding a giant metal broadsword is cool as fuck, and is also the main reason why I main him. Yes, it's actually called a broadsword in the game
Brayden Robinson
Just get it and go fast Then drop giant robots into people. Shit's awesome.
I love the animations and the fuckton of details and tricks the game has and how you can keep practicing trickshots and stuff like GravStar acceleration, bouncing bullets, holopilot+holo power up shenanigans, proyectile based weapons that feel orgasmic to land, FAST and responsive gameplay to do all kinds of crazy stuff in a tight physics based movement system, etc.
Alexander Perry
OP here.
I think I'm gonna go for it, thanks for the input.
Levi Diaz
>Rodeoing some faggot in his Ronin in the corner of the map on War Games >my Titan metre is full >call it in >jump off the Ronin knowing he's going to kill me immediately, he does >he disembarks immediately to steal the battery back from my corpse >just as he climbs back into his Titan, mine lands on him and crushes him >mfw
No better feeling
Evan Peterson
>not calling it in while rodeoing him and crushing him without dying
Robert Sullivan
I use Low Profile so if I call it in while I'm rodeoing him he'll notice it too late and there's too great of a chance of him just moving somewhere else out of the way. If he kills me he'll stop on the spot to get out and retrieve the battery so you can be a lot more accurate
Cameron Wood
kill yourself
Leo Clark
>I can buy 2 witcher 3's for the same price because EA doesn't care about my country Welp, that's why I don't have the game.
Ian Hernandez
>gunplay is too in-depth not even the guy your responding to but hitscan smg's that work at almost all ranges isnt fun its why i quit the game
Colton Morales
>not smashing [RDDT] with tfgbros
William Bailey
You can use the same SMGs though, what's the problem?
>moving so slow that you actually let an SMG kill you at long range
Pretty sure they all have damage dropoff after a certain range
Jackson Rodriguez
>t. hasn't played since the last patch Why do the anti titanfall shills not actually know what they're talking about?
Connor Lewis
The original was better, but lacked variety. Titanfall 2 is slow as fuck compared to the original.
Also >Titans don't have recharging shields anymore
The best part of Titanfall was the sense of progression through the game. Now Titans are way too fragile and expendable compared to before.
Benjamin Diaz
because using smgs got boring, i prefered the epg, coldwar and softball has it changed that much though? the patchnotes make it seem the difference in kill times is negligible, like 2-3 bullets difference on weapons that spew 20 per second i tried asking in the general but received no response
Grayson Edwards
Whats the difference between the white and orange text here?
Jaxson Hall
White is probably just taken from the in-game scoreboard, red is someone on the enemy team talking in chat
Ryan Phillips
They nerfed the smg damage at range so an AR will always beat it, up close they're better since that's what they're supposed to do. Don't complain if you're trying to beat an r97 at close range with a hemlock.
Robert Rivera
>complaining you're being outclassed by hitscan weapons when all you want to use are meme launchers
Kayden Ross
i'll give you that like I said it's all skill and his sword makes him attractive to noobs. all I know is I job Ronins more than any other titan but yeah you don't want to be close to one thats for sure.
David Barnes
>needing a macro to slidehop
LMAO just hold down the crouch button
Lucas Young
not him, but does that work? Just hold down the crouch button in the air and then jump as soon as you land?
Andrew Allen
You need to know how to air strafe as well, also tap crouch don't hold it.
Isaiah Hall
This. It's actually growing again right now.
Daniel Thompson
The white name on red is on the scoreboard when the player is alive. The White name on grey is on the scoreboard when the player is dead.
Austin Gray
It works, but I actually do it with toggle crouch and just tap it everytime I'm back in the air. I have crouch bound to mouse 4.
James Morris
played it for almost 500 hours (some of this is obviously spent on the menu screen), games is okay for casual play, it had major balancing issues and still does, shame respawn is retarded so no comp scene could come out of it
I hope they get it right with Titanfall 3 if that will ever be a thing
Wyatt Jackson
>play siege >game is fun and im okay at it but even at 120 fps feels like it doesnt run very well
>play csgo >runs smooth like butter but current state of the game is lame as shit with all the awp spam that used to be frowned upon >every community server is a pile of shit running DM or surf
>battlefield one >is boring
>cssource >completely dead
Titanfall 2 is really all there is left. I have the first one but didnt play it much. Nobody did.
Landon Kelly
I'm glad there's no comp scene. The entire community would be full of tryhard kiddies in every match yelling at you whenever you try to use a new loadout and have fun. Titanfall has a high skill ceiling, but the game is only played for fun. Considering every single weapon in this game is for noobs according to the aggregated oppinion of everyone, it's better this way.
