Theres been a bot there for a while that resposts comments from other threads to spam it. Its from a butthurt furfag that got kicked out of the /vg/ guild and went on a tirade and the mods wont (cant) do anything about it

How can one person be just so fucking retarded?

>Post nothing but shitty asura/charr faggotry and hope/fun faggot guild drama
>Waaaaah! Our retarded shitposting actually had consequences
You deserve the bots and now get the fuck out of Sup Forums

If you've ever read the threads then it shouldn't be surprising.

Half the posts don't even make sense.

The people of GW2G were cancerous enough to invaded /mmog/, try to take over, and kill /mmog/ with the same botspam because the botspam follow the GW 2 posters
>in before fuckboy Charr Hope Leader that been making GW 2 general with the bot on for the past month try to say it not their fault for killing /mmog/

He was still playing Guild Wars 2, and he joined a Sup Forums guild.

There aint anything right with that sorta person.

Nothing of value was lost. It was 50% guild drama and 50% avatarfags dumping pics of their shitty characters. Nobody ever discussed the game.

Hate the players, hate the game.

Let's talk about the game.
What's the spec you're the most excited about for PoF?

I'm honestly pretty hyped for Holosmith and how it will interact with the rest of the class, I know Photon Forge disables kits for a few seconds but once they are available again, the damage buff from overheating might be fucking strong coupled with those, but since Photon Forge skills replace the toolbelt ones, we'll have to see.
Weaver is the one I'm the least excited about, it looks boring, ele playstyle hasn't changed much since vanilla and it doesn't look like Weaver brings a lot that's totally new to the table.

Weaver looks like fun, although a little clusterfucked.

>play gw2
>pretty fun for a while
> start feeling nostalgic
> remember gw 1 and all the fun times that will never ever come again
> cry myself to sleep

Weaver looks great, but I suck ass as elementalist and die all the time. I'll probably stick with Reaper since Scourge looks boring and none of the other new specs are support based.

excited about firebrand skeptical about mirage and disappointed in renegade, it just looks bland and they i feel like they only gave it new F skills because they realised that the utilities look boring as fuck, you literally just summon stationary phantasms

This game is utter shit and the general was a cesspool of ultimate degeneracy.

Scourge looks amazing, it's the other spec I'm the most hyped for. Throwing preventive barriers to soak up damage on your allies is such a cool mechanic.

Mirage sounds really weird, I absolutely love the idea of pushing the clone confusion thing to its limits though, but I have yet to see how it actually works as a decent PvE class.

youtube.com/watch?v=bKJSC_mteIg

I've been posting it for years. I'll never stop.

It's not always bad. The Sup Forums guild that was made on a whim was awesome. It's /vg/ that's the cancer.

GW2 fags should kill themselves desu.
I bet 80% of them didn't even play GW1.

I actually like the game and think PoF looks fun. Fight me.

The EU /vg/ guild isn't even bad, it's nearly 100% drama free, almost a shame it's linked to /gw2g/.

Scourge and Deadeye.
Scourge because I always like the idea of dark/evil-looking characters that heal and protect.
And Deadeye because I wanted something else than the Shortbow on my Thief.

what can't they? just rangeban the faggot

Bots don't have IPs.

I actually did play all 4 GW1 campaigns after playing GW2 for years, I took my time to do as much content as I could and I can safely say that it's a very unique game that's also very flawed.
The lore is alright but the story is just as shit as GW2, if not worse. Prophecies in particular is absolute ass, both the way the story is told and the missions. I don't think anyone understood the story on their first playthrough.
It's a fun game but the writing and story are always compared to the GW2 one and GW1 is actually much worse, it shines in its setpieces though.

Some autistic furry got triggered and started spamming the thread with a bot.

I'm hoping Soulbeast is fun to play. I'm also really excited to try out Deadeye since it seems to be everything I ever wanted from my days of trying to make rifle warrior work. Spellbreaker looks great as well- one of the first things I want to look as is whether or not it could make a good alternative to standard PS builds.

The Elementalist and Engineer spec look interesting although I never really had much taste for Ele. The expansion might make me go back to playing some.

...

Didn't see there was already a thread so let me ask here.

Played the game when it became free to play and enjoyed it even though I played alone. Played it again last year and remeber that my server was pretty empty and couldn't change.
Just had a couple questions.

Is it worth buying now, do still a lot of people play it?
Is the Standard edition enough, not even sure what the extra stuff does in the other versions and are both expansions included?
Can it be played alone or do you need to be in a guild?
What is a megaserver? Will I have the problem of having no people on the server or the like?

People actually still play this?

No.

>you're as ascalonian just chilling in your kingdom
>get bombarded by charr
>follow your prince to Kryta to seek refuge
>you work with the White Mantle as a deal to let your people settle in Krytra
>get kidnap by the Blade while finding the Chosen
>Blade reveal White Mantle Mantle Dark's secret
>Blade ally with a last surviving Orr and escape to the Crystal Desert
>Go to the Crystal Desert to get Ascension to see the White Mantle's god and their destiny lesson from Glint
>The Crystal Desert also serve as a training ground for PvP
>go back to help Blade, now almost gone from getting kill by the White Mantle
>get infusion and kill the Blade traitor
>help dwarf ally to beat their enemy and the white mantle that want to kill you off
>Go after the White Mantle/Mursaat at the Fire Island
>That Orr survivor got the Staff, control titan, and all mursaat die in the island
>Kill The Orr Survivor
>Clean up your own mess and do the Titan Quest

Compare to

>Jesus Mary Salad control your story

I think you're just brain damaged.

toss up between Weaver and Firebrand. Really looking forward to the changes to the specializations for the expansion first and foremost though.

>Vitality now has more than one use. Boosts Max Barrier
> Healing power provides additional barrier.

I went back and bought GW1 because of 2. They both have their strong points. Although I understand but am torn about the decision to not cross-class in 2. Balancing skills in relation to cross-classing is very difficult to do in a multiplayer sense.

>Is it worth buying now, do still a lot of people play it?
Yes.
>Is the Standard edition enough, not even sure what the extra stuff does in the other versions and are both expansions included?
Standard is enough.
>Can it be played alone or do you need to be in a guild?
I play it alone and there are no problems. In case you need help to get a hero point that's protected by a champion or something like that just ask in map chat and there will be always someone to help.
>What is a megaserver? Will I have the problem of having no people on the server or the like?
Before the megaserver system every language had its own server. Anet merged this a few years ago. You should always have people on your server though depending on the population and time of day.

>GW1
>There is no right or wrong, no black or white. Every character and group have their own reasons for their actions.
>Fighting alongside rurik, leaving behind your homeland in order to save your people.
>Leading what is left of the party through the shiverpeaks, without a leader and without guidance to make the final trek to Lion's Arch.
>Cross the sea towards the crystal desert, an ancient land that is now only a relic of the past.
>Winning Heroes' Ascent ( PvP ) to truly ascend and gain the favour of the gods
>Traveling to a land troubled by the plague, chasing a man that desperately tries to save his homeland.
>Travelling across a frozen sea and a dying forest uncovering the secrets of an ancient land.
>Crossing the desert fighting alongside an oppressed people.
>Lead the sunspears and order of whispers through the depths of the abyss
>Mhenlo, Cynn, Devona and the rest of the bunch were always at your side until the end.

>GW2
>you are awesome here fight this evil dragon lol

I don't think so. Just seems to be some paid shills pedaling the new expac. Theyll be gone soon

Mhenlo etc were true bros ;_;

I had prepared a post to answer some guy on another thread but it went 404 so I'll just post it here, whatever.

>Is the Standard edition enough, not even sure what the extra stuff does in the other versions and are both expansions included?
Definitely get the expansions if you want to play the game seriously, the base game has a lot of content but there's only so much you can do before you reach that part of the game where everyone's asking for meta builds, and those are only available in the expansions.
Basically, each expansion adds a new specialization to every class that changes the way that class plays drastically, HoT also gives you gliding which is a movement skill I never thought I wanted but can't even live without anymore, and plenty of other stuff, watch a video instead because there's a lot to cover.
>Can it be played alone or do you need to be in a guild?
You can play alone, a lot of groups are formed at any time of the day for every kind of content, even raids, but everything is better with friends.
>What is a megaserver?
It's basically the system that makes servers irrelevant, there's is no "empty server" like you said as everyone is bunched together on the same map no matter what server they're from until the map hits player limit, and then another instance of that same map is opened.

>expecting furfags to have a functioning brain

The standard collection has both the espansions and the ability to automatically go to level 80. Who uses that? Is that for people who make new characters? I'll probably stay with a single one.

>everyone's asking for meta builds

Is there a specific point where people start tryharding or something? Can't I just play the game with whatever build I want? Or do you mean PvP?

The expansions are standalone though, aren't they? There's currently a bundle to buy both of em, but buying PoF by itself won't also unlock HoT.

In the open world you can do whatever you want, but if you plan on pugging fractals (dungeons) or raids then you have to run the "meta build" or get kicked, just like every MMO.

>Is there a specific point where people start tryharding or something?
Yes, but to tell you the truth, you're probably never going to reach that point on a f2p account as far as PvE is concerned because you'll be stuck running vanilla stuff with vanilla classes so it's all fine.
It's mostly in PvP and WvW that not being able to play the new specs is going to suck, they are simply stronger than the base ones, they allow most classes to do more with no drawback.

I wasn't hear for the old threads but based on what I've seen posted now and before it sounds to me like the old gw2 general was a shitty thread full of furries who spent less time talking about the actual game and more time posting suggestive images of charr, rollplaying and doing other stupid shit until one day some autistic faggot got triggered and created a bot to spam the thread thus ruining it for everyone?

The boost is for current players who want to quickly get another character ready for the expansion, I would never recommend a new player to use it on their first character.

So they literally castrated like 90% of the skill effects of every other class, making them smaller, less flashy and more boring only to introduce complete eyecancer with the new specialisations? Man I'm glad I dropped this shit game some months after the bullshit that was their first """expansion""".

Yep. Ele auras are still cone shaped invisible pisseggs and their reason was:

>Now, I think what you’re most curious about is how things will go moving forward. And it turns out, we do want to restore some of the skills that were reduced in the past. However, some effects, such as Auras, probably will remain as they are now, because the previous versions were considered to be too “loud,” and given the fact that their effect is supportive it needs to have a consistent visual effect across allies/enemies.

And then go on and make even "louder" fucking animations.

Absolute fucking cancer developers.

i just recently got back into it, haven't played in 2 years

now i got heart of thorns and path of fire and i am doing heart of thorns content on my guardian

i haven't touched the elite spec yet though, because i think switching out traits will fuck with my burn damage conditions build

do you guys know how good longbows are for guardian?

>pugging fractals (dungeons) or raids

That's not something I have to do though right? I played it until level 20 I believe and mostly just stuck to exploring the open world and story missions. I imagine once I have finished the story and 100%ed certain areas then I can play those but even getting there will take a lot of time I imagine. Which leads to another question. Are still new players that also play story or is the majority already max level and doing dungeons etc.?

That's why I'm asking since I'm thinking of buying the game for 50 bucks.

>doing dungeons

you are in for a surprise, hehe

They're good in PvP, not so much in PvE but that doesn't mean the spec isn't meta for Guard in PvE.
qtfy.eu/build/guardian

You'll find players running the vanilla story dungeons, not as often as back during vanilla though but you'll still find some, especially now that a lot of new players started playing.

people still play guild wars 1, you hyper autists

wait, i thought conditions was the way to go for damage but every item in that guardian build has power, ferocity and such

have i been fucking lied to by my guild?

PvP DH have builds for both power and condi, PvE DH is power, and the Firebrand spec in PoF is most likely condi.

dont worry user u just have shit taste

firebrand, does it use books and such?

i don't quite remember sorry

I can't tell what to play.

I'm leveling Revenant, but I get the vibe that it's gonna get boring after a while.

Everyone told me to go Elementalist because of its complexity, but it honestly seems worse than Warrior/Engineer/Guardian.

I'm crippled because I don't know who to main.

I just want to dump all my time into one character.

How's the community? Mind you the only one I know is th Overwatch one and everyone knows how that one is. Surely it can't be worse, right?

Also I don't really remeber how I plaxed it back then but can it be played more casually? Think this was the first and only mmo I ever played and even the menus can be overwhelming.

Good question that I also want to know since I also want to play a single character.

I still play GW1. I was super excited for GW2 but as great as it looks and as cool as some of the new stuff is (swimming, directed/targeted moves etc) i found myself really missing the original, especially the huge range of skill and build options, and the interesting tactical challenge of building a good, cohesive team. Gameplay wise GW1 was absolutely amazing and still is.

>locking skills to weapons

Why is this allowed?

"hurr why can't i shoot arrows with my sword?"

try the uninstall wizard, you'll never go back

i had a laundry list of filters for that shitty general so im not really too sad its getting spammed. haven't played in about 2 years now though.

Where can you play the path of fire beta? A separate client is needed?

t. never played GW1

did you? 1 definitely had weapon specific skills.

It's getting old and MMO have difficulties to recreate the feeling of novelty.

Not nearly as much as GW2 though where literally every weapon has specific skills and only these skills.

If you think about GW2 akin to something like Xenoblade Chronicles or Diablo, it's really fun. No sub fee and you just explore and dick around for like 300 hours or more. I don't see why it needs an autistic ever-updated endgame like WoW/XIV (which both suck at providing frequent and/or fun updates) when there's no sub fee. The game itself is F2P or like $15 if you want all the perks.

It's the comfiest MMO bar-none, sans maybe TESO, or some other obscure ones.

The general was nothing but furfaggotry, erp and circlejerking for the past couple years anyway, nothing of value was lost, when you have that kind of concentration of autism it was inevitable that it would implode under the sheer weight of tism

post mains

charr guardian here

Yes

youtube.com/watch?v=Jp_j4CQ-YfM
youtube.com/watch?v=nqj-yOPEudA&t=9s#

no content is limited by your level, you can play stuff as soon you can get there
at lvl 80 with exotic gear and skills that somewhat synergize you can do 99% of the content, for the last 1% you need the slightly (+5%) better ascended gear and putting more thought into your build depending on the upcoming enemies

also its only the first character that is slow to level, maxing the second one is faster because you know what is where and have gear and money to spare, leveling the third one is a matter of 237 clicks

The community is fine, very helpful, they love talking with new players. Just avoid the dungeon groups asking for experience or kill proofs and such and you'll be fine.

>gw2 has better story and writing than gw1
Are you both gay and retarded?

GW2 skill system - shit
combo fields - shit
dodge button - shit
movement - floaty shit
skill progression - shit
story - shit
gear system - shit
wvw - time zone based pointless shit
party play and cooperation - shit
dungeons - pure shit because of above
community interaction - nonexistent

elementalist sucks unless you go for certain very specific combinations, its still fun, but comparably worse. In the right hands and situations it has the highest damage output, in the wrong (your) hands it will die often

Ranger is easymode for solo play and can be built for various roles and do them well, also excells in the challenging lategame content

Revenant has the least variety

Going back and forth between Spellbreaker, Scourge.

I have always gravitated towards melee classes and SB seems interesting. The changes to Scourge seems to give Necro's a more viable presence in PvE content, I believe they're the only source of Barriers, so kind of getting what Chrono's got with Alacrity

I dont know, /vg/ threads can be weird as fuck.

Check out the Starcraft 2 general and you'll see what i mean.

Basically, if you want to talk about video games, stay on Sup Forums

I'll admit I never played GW1, but from what I've read and seen, I regret it.

Is GW1 still alive? I'd like to see what all of the fuss is about one of these days.

If I buy the standard collection will this autmatically upgrade the base game from the free 2 play variant? Since it only says it has the 2 expansions in it.

How's the PvP in this game? I enjoyed the wvw stuff at launch but haven't really played the game at all since then. Is it worth my time getting back into it now if I'm only interested in PvP? And if so what classes are good, I've got an 80 guardian, mesmer, and warrior.

Seems like someone on the graphical team mains engineer.

Standard collection, you mean the $50€ bundle with the two expansions?
Then yes, buying any expansion upgrades your free to play account to regular one and removes the restrictions instantly.

>game played by retarded furries and people that think the waifu shitposting is serious
>surprised game is shit

They probably wanted something cool to make up for the uninspired shit that Scrapper was.

>playing SJW: the game

Can someone explain to me the end game of GW?
I've played on a friend's account on and off before but it felt like I'm not actually progressing in anything.

I really wished Trahearne/ the Sylvari and Neo-Destiny's Edge didn't hijack the story the way they did. it had a decent foundation, but the characters just feel forced and one dimensional. I miss Priory plantgirl, though.

probably but i doubt its bustling like it used to be. during holidays the cities would fill up to 100+ districts for events, but now i think they're lucky to get 4 or 5. for some perspective.

a lot of the game can be played alone anyway (which a lot of people didnt like and influenced 2's design)

I stopped playing GW2 personally because of the lack of emotes, no sense of belonging in any of the towns, and barebones player interaction that discourages roleplay.

No mounts also sucks. And the shops and vendors are standing around in the streets pointlessly, instead of being in actual physical shop locations.

>everything changed, when the expansion arrived
you used to be able to get away with playing whatever, but th epower creep is real. ATM if you try some gimmicky build u gonna get rekt m8, unless those gimmicks involve "kill someone instantly and make sure the same doesnt happen to me" or "dont die and buff allies"

Also when I only buy the HoT expansion? Because now that I think about it I'd rather spend a little less, 30 euro, just in case. Playing the base game and the first expansion alone is gonna take forever anyway.

Wait /mmog/ got killed as well?

yes but they didnt have weapon locked skills you turd

They do. The bot runs on a piece of hardware somewhere, that is connected to the internet same as anything else.
Unless it's some kind of self-replicating AI virus that posts from nine thousand IOT refrigerators.

Yes.
